The Memories Six - Privacy please
A week full of nightmares, her scent lingering, brief flashes of her image, dreams that always end up with her trying to wake me up, and I would, drenched in sweat and breathing rapidly.
I haven't got any proper sleep, with all these things happening, not to mention the invasion of my private life, unwanted babysitters who gobbled up food in our kitchen, unnecessary sleepovers with roommates who take up the most space on my bed. They never let me out of their sight, even demanded that I keep doors unlocked, especially the bathroom, even if I was doing my business there. To say that I'm drained from all these craziness is an understatement.
The disturbance they cause gave me some moments to forget about the bad things. It wasn't enough, but it was okay. I was thankful.
Still feeling tired, I opened my eyes only to find another human on my bed.
I pushed away the body next to mine, making it drop face first on the floor, causing it to groan.
"Ow..."
I snickered at the lack of emotion it emitted. "If you're planning to crash into my room for the rest of your lives, I suggest you bring your own sleeping bag or something. I won't be providing them for any of you."
"You could be a little hospitable, you know," Jimin mumbled as he slowly sat up and scratched his eyes.
Shaking my head in annoyance, I opened the curtains to let the sun in, secretly hoping it could wash away all the darkness in me.
"Okay Yoongi, let's start this day right. How are you feeling upon waking up? Do you feel refreshed?"
I looked at him with the most painful expression. "Does it look like I was refreshed?"
"Did you have trouble sleeping?" He continued his interrogation.
Wow. Such an annoying group of people. The same question every single morning.
"You know what, I think I'd rather lock myself in a sanatorium. I have a room of my own, a bed to myself, a bathroom free from imbeciles, oh, and a quiet place away from people who claim to watch over me while I sleep but in reality they get to dreamland even faster than the one they're supposed to watch over, not to mention the loud snores and heavy limbs flying on my side of the bed, a foot on my face or an arm choking me. Makes sense?"
His eyes disappeared as he clutched his stomach, laughing on the floor.
"Sorry about that, we will try to work on the snoring and the body parts being dumped right at you. But seriously, I know you can't sleep well, you were talking in your sleep. You've been calling her name nonstop. I was about to wake you up but you stopped then."
I just sighed. "I guess I can't stop thinking about her. It's been a year, Jimin. Still, no progress in the investigations. No answers. None. I can't just keep waiting. I have to do something. Maybe that's why she's appearing constantly. I need to do something for her, I need to do it fast."
The desperation evident in my voice, and it was too late to hide it, try as I may to prevent them from worrying too much about me.
Jimin stared, thoughtful. "Maybe we have to wait for a bit. I'm sure they'll let us know when they've made some progress..."
"Well, I wish they'd do it faster. I'm getting tired, too."
"I know, we know how tough this is for you. That's why we're here for you."
I smirked, "To annoy me even more?"
He chuckled. "If that'll keep you sane, then we will."
We will find answers soon, Emily. I promise you.
