The Memories Forty Four - To Tell, Or Not To Tell
Mia's POV
After the first subject, we have fifteen-minute break before that start of the next, so Yoongi, Jin and I decided to take Migi out of his bag to stretch a little. Soon, one by one, his other friends come to get a glimpse of Migi, since they've been wanting to meet him eversince Yoongi bragged about finding him on the streets and taking him home to me. It's fun to watch these manly teenagers do funny noises and make cute expressions just to get the cat's attention. But Migi loved Yoongi the most. Sure, he'll give a paw to Jimin and Namjoon, he'll let Hoseok and Jin scratch his chin or his tummy, but eventually he'll come strutting back to Yoongi. He's his father, anyway. Cara and Stacey, my only girl friends, were also there and fell in love instantly with Migi.
The last pair to arrive was Jungkook and Taehyung, both running and skidded to a halt at the door, and let out the cutest sounds when they saw the fat cat. Right behind them was a pretty girl who lingered at the doorway, staring intently at Jungkook. At first I thought she was their classmate or a new friend tailing right behind them for us to meet, but I did a second look and noticed that her uniform was different from ours, and her skin color was oddly unusual, almost white. Then I realized what she was when a group of girls walked right through her, blurring her form.
I let out a gasp, but Taehyung distracted me by putting a book in front of my face and pretended to ask about our homework for the afternoon classes.
"She's been following Jungkook since this morning," Taehyung mumbled, "but I guess we both know who she is." We looked over to where the girl previously stood, but she wasn't there anymore.
I managed to keep my expression neutral, but deep inside I wanted to run far away, I wanted to cry. How will Jungkook feel once he finds out Keila's...
"I've been trying to call her phone, almost every minute, or whenever I get the chance, but it's turned off... I'm really worried about her," Jungkook gloomily said, which made me hold my breath to stop my mouth from saying anything. I felt so bad for him, because he's waiting, he's hoping, he's left hanging.
The only thing I appreciate about my gift is that most of the ghosts I encounter shows so much vulnerability, and they are sad souls seeking comfort from the ones they've left behind, maybe hoping that their voices could be heard.
I was contemplating, but it would be an awkward timing if I suddenly tell Jungkook, and I wasn't even sure if Taehyung's guess was correct. Glancing over Taehyung, he must have read my mind and gently shook his head.
"Did she say anything about leaving town?" Hoseok asked.
"I really don't know. Her parents were always on a business trip, so she was alone most of the time. I didn't want to leave her that night, but she insisted she'll be okay. I feel so guilty, I shouldn't have left her..." the agony in Jungkook's face says it all.
Jimin ruffled the younger male's hair, "Hey, don't stress yourself. It's not your fault."
"Yeah, but still... I really like her. For once, it wasn't about sex. She was really someone I could talk to about anything and everything. I think she's my first real love..."
I felt a warm tear escape my eye, but I wiped it fast before Yoongi could notice.
It hurts to be stuck in the middle of a dilemma. But I cannot do anything at this moment.
Would you choose to tell, and be called crazy,
Or choose to not tell, and leave him in the dark?
