November 1, 2019

A beeping sound was all I heard as it annoyingly sounded at intervals. Then I heard light chatter around me wanting to know who was speaking, I tried opening my eyes. They closed back up again the first few times I tried until finally I was able to take control and blink away the sleepiness.

Noticing I was waking up my grandmother called my grandfather's attention, "Jinho dear, look she's awake," she then rushed to my side, "How are you feeling darling?"

"Sleepy," I answered groggily, glancing around the room to see if Taehyung was here.

"Are you looking for that handsome young man who was here earlier?" she knowingly wondered.

Embarrassed of being caught I looked down to my hand that was hooked to the IV trying to avoid halmeoni's stare.

"Maybe," I shyly mumbled.

"Darling, I had to beg him to go home to get something to eat and change," she exclaimed patting my leg, "He didn't want to leave your side or go too far away in case something happened."

"Oh," I responded with a smile. It made me so happy to know he cared that much about me; it was reassuring especially after what happened.

"Is he the one you talked to me about the other time?" she then whispered leaning closer to me.

"Yes, he's the one," I nodded eagerly.

"I have to say he's a keeper," she told me with a look, "Remember the words I told you that time you visited us," halmeoni added making a grabbing motion with her hands.

"Youngmi, stop telling the girl that! Next thing I know I'll have to defend her in court for kidnapping," grandfather added having heard our conversation.

"Oh, dear, relax it won't be you there's a conflict of interest," halmeoni disregarded him with a wave of her hand.

Checking my phone which was on the nightstand I saw I had received a text from Eun-Jae saying that he stayed till I was out of surgery and he was glad I was well, but that last night's event had left him exhausted and he was going to sleep.  He also wrote he would be back tomorrow with a bag of my things. In the group chat with the girls there were around two hundred messages starting with pictures showing off their costumes, then ones expressing their concern on my well-being and the latest being get well wishes. They probably received news from Youngjin I was doing good now. Lastly, there were text messages from Jimin wishing me well too.

As it was getting late my grandparents decided to leave mentioning on their way out how they were too old to sleep on a chair or couch and that they'd be here early tomorrow for more news on my recovery and discharge from the hospital. I didn't spend 5 minutes alone till another person stepped into the room their face and chest being covered by a huge basket with flowers, chocolates, and balloons. Placing them on a table near by Taehyung's face appeared from behind the basket.

"What's all this?" I chuckled at the giant gift.

"Get well soon flowers and chocolate," he smiled, showing me his boxy smile.

"Thank you," I told him, grabbing his hand and placing a kiss on the back of it.

"How are you feeling? Does it hurt?" He asked me while looking down to my abdomen in concern.

"I'm okay, it doesn't really hurt much it's more uncomfortable I guess," I answered with a shrug. I hadn't had a glimpse yet of the stitches, although the doctor did say there weren't many and they wouldn't be too noticeable which I was very glad about.

"Good, I don't want to see you in pain again," he softly said, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.

"I'm sorry it must've been hard for you," I grimaced at the thought of him seeing me like that. To be honest, once the pain got unbearable, everything turned into a blur there were only glimpses of Taehyung's scared face and words of reassurance drifting in and out.

"It was something," he let out an airy laugh, "But I'm glad I was there to help you."

We stayed for what felt like hours catching up on what we had been up to for the past few days trying to avoid the struggles we faced during it. The rest of the concerts were very successful many positive news articles coming out of it. Taehyung made sure to thank me again for the trust and confidence I'd let him borrow because according to him their success was all because of me. Before going to bed the nurse came around again to check over the stitches and to replace the IV bags and while she did that Taehyung stepped out of the room to give me some privacy, I didn't mind if he had stayed but thought he probably found it awkward.

Once the nurse left, he came back in and settled on the chair instead, releasing a yawn. I was going to ask him why doesn't he go home until it clicked that it wasn't on his plans to leave and that he was going to sit on the uncomfortable chair the whole night, again might I add. Scanning him from head to toe his figure was slouched and there were bags under his eyes clearly indicating how tired he was.

"Taehyung, why don't you go home?"

"I don't want to leave you alone," he responded instantly with a pout.

"I'll be okay, don't worry," I insisted, wanting him to get some proper rest.

"You're stuck with me there is no changing my mind," he argued, crossing his arms and looking away from me.

"Tae, you have work tomorrow and you barely slept a wink last night," I whined in an attempt to convince him, but he was adamant on staying.

"I don't care I'm staying Nari," Taehyung stubbornly answered.

Sighing in discontent I thought of alternatives because I just couldn't let him sleep in the chair there was no way. Finding a solution, I leaned forward to poke his arm.

"What are you doing?"

"Sleep here," I told him with a grin at my great idea.

"That's was the plan?" he stared at me weirdly.

"I mean on the bed," Rolling my eyes, I stated.

"That's okay, I don't want to hurt you," he softly replied.

"You won't come on," I insisted, patting the bed.

"Are you sure?" he questioned with a frown.

"Yes!" I exclaimed loudly, his hesitance annoying me. It's not like I got major surgery.

"Don't yell at me," he pouted, standing up from the chair.

"I didn't yell, I merely spoke in capital letters," I chimed in making space for him on the hospital bed.

With a laugh, he gently laid next to me almost on the edge of the bed. Rolling my eyes once again, I pulled on his arm, so his body was pressed against me and after some adjusting, we found a comfortable position and went to sleep. I was not sleepy at all, but I knew Taehyung needed sleep hence why I dragged him into the bed. After planting a kiss on my forehead, it didn't take long for his breathing to even out as he fell asleep. I glanced up at him as he slept, he looked peaceful and without worries eyebrows relaxed and mouth slightly ajar as he breathed. The rise and fall of his chest eventually lulling me to sleep.

"Aw, look at them so cute," a distant voice whispered.

"Young love! Remember when we were like that," another voice murmured.

"Let me take a picture she'll thank me for it later."

Opening my eyes, my grandparents were in front of the bed gushing over Taehyung and me with a groan I hid my face in Taehyungs chest who was still knocked out cold. My grandmother was right, I would thank her for the picture because I bet we looked adorable. I would look like a hot mess, but the overall essence of it would be great.
