Blake's POV

When I arrive at school I head in search of my best friend and future beta of my pack, Jake. Walking down the corridor, I accidentally bump into the quietest girl in school. She was actually quite beautiful, however before I could form any more thoughts, I feel the sparks. I look down at her and growl.

"Mate."

Worry sets on her face and suddenly she jumps up from my arms and runs out the heavy set doors of the school. Naturally, I chase after her, finding her curled into a ball on a bench in the back of the school.

I walk up to her slowly and sit down next to her. I reach over to touch her arm, but she pulls away from me.

"What's the matter?" I ask her quietly. She turns to look at me and I notice that she truly is beautiful. She has long, brown hair, with bright blue eyes, and sun kissed skin.

"N-nothing is the mater." She stutters so quietly I can barely hear her, even with my accelerated hearing.

"W did you run from me when we found out we were mates?" I ask, slightly hurt.

"I was surprised, that was all." She looks at me and smiles. I smile back.

Madi's POV

When Blake smiles at me my world stops. He has a thousand dollar smile. He suddenly frowns.

"We should probably get to class. The late bell rang already." He stands up and holds his hand out for me to take. I grab it and he pulls me up off the bench. We start off to class.

"My first class is in the left wing" I mumbled. He looks down at me and frowns a gain.

"OK, I'll walk you to class then."

I look up at him. " Wont you get in trouble?" He laughs as we walk down the now deserted hallway.

"Nah - Mr Lininger has my back."

I sigh. Of course he would, he's the future alpha. We have a mix of human teachers and students, along with werewolf students and teachers. Most wolves here belonged to the Fullmoon pack, except me.

I was a loner.

An outcast.

That is why we would not work out. My father was the alpha for the Riverhill pack, my mom the Luna. When she left, my father forced me to leave the pack. We weren't rouge, but we left our pack and didn't return, leaving my fathers beta, Rob, to take over my fathers job.

I'm brought back to reality when Blake makes a sudden stop. "Were here." I look up to notice that we are in fact in front of my first period classroom. I turn to thank him but he beats me to words.

"I don't think we have any classes together so I will have to meet you at lunch."

I turn to say that wont be necessary but he's already started down the hallway. "I don't take no for an answer!" He calls down the hallway, already out of sight. I turn to the door and step inside, hoping Mrs Reed is not paying attention, but no such luck.

"Miss James, tardy are we? That will have to be an after school detention today after school."

Dammit. I'll be getting extra beatings tonight for being home late.

Great.

I turn to my desk and sit through the lesson, not at all paying attention, but thinking about my new mate.
