Rin pov

Lucifer left the room soon after he got me to lie down. I'm sure he left to get some food, I haven't eaten a bite and my stomach was clear enough that I needed some sort of sustenance. I'm not sure my legs could have held me up for much longer, not after everything that happened. 

I'm laying here now and I'm not sure what's real anymore.

Lucifer wasn't anything other than kind, he's perfect, and he has never harmed me.

So why would Shiro be so afraid of him?

He had no reason to be afraid, sure Lucifer was powerful and I think he cares for me, but he wouldn't randomly hurt Shiro.. right?

Of course, he wasn't too fond of humans, after all, they took advantage of what he never had, but now that he had it, he is good. 

Egyn pov

Rin's blood worked better than we predicted. The blood I drew from his "experiment" did wonders on the host. Lucifer took no time destroying the order's headquarters. In time we can overtake each branch of the order and end their exorcisms.  

Building a host for father now shouldn't take much time at all. Lucifer's host is strong enough to hold him, and if we need we can take from the rat Rin created. 

But Rin has been weird lately. He won't talk to me, or anyone else. It's gotten concerning, Lucifer seems worried, even if he won't say it. It's scary, I don't like when he is this quiet. 

Lucifer said Rin met Shiro, the old man who let the order abuse him, and experiment on thousands of Nephilim clones for decades. Not that the Nephilims really mattered, their lives are just as worthless as the humans.

Soon Father will rule over them all and we will finally be where we were meant to be.

Iblis has been saying stupid things recently, she said that Rin might try and betray us. But she's wrong Rin likes Lucifer too much, and he doesn't seem to dislike me. He may be a bit quiet recently, but he's likely just in shock. It's not every day you are reunited with humans who matter. 

That reminds me, we haven't found Samael yet, or Azazel. They seemed to disappear with Shiro and Yukio. Maybe they are hiding, they should be worried they did betray us. If we did find them, I would want Yukio the most. He's oddly powerful for a Nephilim, he may be helpful in making Father's host more powerful. He may even be a perfect host for Father.

That may make Rin happy, to know what exactly became of his twin...

I do hope Father and Rin get along. Rin is very fun, and sweet I wouldn't anything bad to happen to him. Lucifer would be mad if something happened to Rin, I think we all would be. So I guess what I really hope is that Father is nice to Rin. He may not like Rin, but as long as he doesn't hurt Rin everything will be fine!

Iblis pov

Egyn looks kinda dumb when he thinks. Dumb in an adorable way of course, but still dumb.

He's still cutely naive, even more than Rin. In a way it's sad, you would think the thousand-year-old could sniff out danger better than a sixteen-year-old half-breed. Though Rin does have Lucifer spiraled around his little fingers.

Lucifer fails to accept the possibility that Rin may not trust him, he keeps making excuses, but they will dry out one day. I fear for Rin when that day comes. Lucifer is far more dangerous than he lets Rin believe...

But Rin probably knows that now. He has been more cautious around all of us. The understanding would be enough to destroy him, if that is the case then he is doing rather well all things considered. Maybe he hasn't learned all of it, he would have no way of knowing what we did to the Kamaki family. If he ever found out I'm sure he wouldn't forgive Lucifer for allowing that to a kid.

Even if Lucifer was unaware, it was gross negligence. 

Both Lucifer and Egyn seem to believe Rin is going to be perfectly fine with everything that has happened, and everything we have done to get this far. I understand the lies we tell, but they have to know it will crumble at some point... I should go talk to Rin, maybe if I am honest with him now he won't hate me when he finds out the truth.

He's far too smart and clever not to find out, and the second he does he will abandon us and find that human and his twin. After he finds out about his mother-Rin won't be quick to forgive Lucifer. I'm not sure he would really be willing to forgive any of us.

Lucifer is truly dumb if he thinks Rin and Father would be anything other than enemies. Father's ego is too fragile and Rin is independent to allow Father to rule over him. 

Rin pov

I hear a knock at the door, I lift my head to see who it is. Iblis steps in and looks down at me with a smile.

"Still sleepy?" she asks stepping into the room.

"Yup," I pull the sheets over my shoulders.

Iblis steps closer into the room "Rin, can you tell me what happened when you disappeared?"

I look at her, something about her sincerity seems odd. I can tell y the way she's biting on the inside of her cheek she has something to say. 

When our eyes met I could tell she knew what I wanted to say. 

"Lucifer's not who he says,"

She breathed in and nodded. "do you know the truth about Shiro, the human who raised you?"

I flung the sheets off as I sat up. What truth was there to learn about Shiro? I shook my head.

"He was in love with your mother, they met in the precursor to the Illuminati. He was one of many clones made of Nephilims just like you. His brothers were used as test subjects for the early serums, after section 13 was destroyed we took them and continued the research."

Clone... "You mean to say the clones Lucifer uses are like Shiro?"

"Yes, thoughts, feeling, they have everything Shiro has."

No... The clones aren't supposed to have feelings. Lucifer told me personally that they didn't feel a thing, they weren't conscious.

"How do I know you aren't lying?" I snap, throwing the sheets back on the bed as I lept off the mattress.   

"Find him, and ask him. I can distract Lucifer until then. I fear if the Egyn finds them before you all they know will be lost."

"Why are you telling me this now?" I stare at her, waiting for some snide remark or laugh about how gullible I am. This has to be some joke. 

"You are a good kid Rin, you deserve to know the truth," her sincerity was the most terrifying thing about her statement. 

This was real, for a moment I felt everything return.  I hated it just as I hated the numbing sensation that had come before. 

This was the truth...

Lucifer pov

I watch on with interest as the final pieces are assembled. Father finds the host and slips into it.

The world seems to quiver as it realizes the new power that inhabited it. The sensation beyond descriptors and the joy of my success seem on the brink of noticing.

Father faded into the host, filling it with life and awareness. It was a beautiful sight, decades of work finally came to fruition. 

He looked around and began to laugh, feeling the new limbs and body that belonged solely to him. Flames flooded over him and his power began to radiate through the ship. He seems happy.

"I am impressed Lucifer," He laughed feeling his arms. "this feels amazing."

"I am glad to hear that father. I would greatly appreciate it if may ask for a favor."

"Sure. But I want to see my son first."

His son.

Right, Rin is technically still his...

"I apologize but Rin is not feeling well at the moment."

My request is more important than your desires, father. 

"So, I still want to see him."

Of course, things had been going too well.

In a flash I blind him, giving myself enough time to draw out the heart. Before he understands what happens I crush it.

It wasn't my first choice or the one I wanted the most, but Rin is mine. I won't share him with some five-year-old brat and his god complex. I can live without father's help, I have conquered the world before, and this time won't be any harder.

Rin Pov

I stand on the balcony above the laboratory.

A fear beyond what I could state looked me in the eyes and refused to leave.

Lucifer's hand was bloodied, and beside him was the limp corpse of Shiro. Blood seeped down in the large sums from his chest, there wasn't anything that could be done to save him. 

Lucifer killed Shiro...

Egyn walks in behind him and the breath is stolen from his lungs, he sinks to his knees and beneath his onesie, I can see a look of horror.

Iblis is behind him, holding an expression that isn't any kinder. Lucifer spots all of us, and I grab Iblis's.

"Get me out of here now."

She doesn't question me, and in a spiral of flames, we are off the ship and in some remote location not even I am familiar with.  "We won't be safe here long. Lucifer will be looking for you, I can't protect you. I'm sorry,"

"where is this?"

"This is the closest to Mephisto's territory I can get. He's going to be the only one who can help you."

"Thank you Iblis, for everything you did."
