Chapter22

We are colourful people.

Very colourful people with colourful hearts. Everything about everyone of us has shades of exact colours that depict why we are this way. Or maybe, why we act this way.

I could tell by mere watching Naomi that she was darkened, inside out.

She wasn't really sadistic in nature but I knew that she had a really dark heart that emanated nothing but evil continually.

"Please stop staring at me!" Her voice cut my thoughts sharply. A frown etched her forehead and wrinkles danced around her face. She rolled her eyes heavenward and dusted the biscuit crumbs that fell on her exposed thighs.

The night party was ten minutes to begin as it was to start at eight o'clock sharp. It wasn't compulsory due to the time it was to commence. And those of us that still ventured to stay were already changed into our various party outfits.

My royal blue crop top was off shouldered and it exposed my navel. Not to talk of the short black leather skirt I wore that hugged my figure and brought out the moderation of my curves.

"And who was staring at you?!" I fired back, wanting to receive a reaction that would push me to the wall and bring out the insanity in me.

Naomi looked at me, shook her head and put another candy biscuit into her mouth. She chewed it gingerly and moaned, nodding her head.

I was infuriated. Annoyed at her put up, I almost rushed her to fling both she and that stupid biscuit away. Both I comported myself.

"The party begins!" Obinna entered the hall with two of his guys that helped him in carrying some bags which I later got to know, contained strong wines.

In twos and threes, others began trooping into the hall like monkeys. The light was already dimmed and the only thing that made us see silhouettes of one another was the chandelier that was fixated at the center of the celling, earlier today.

A DJ was hired to give us the hit songs and make the party a vibe.

My mother will be turning in her bed, if she knows what I was going to do tonight. It was even perplexing that she allowed me to attend the night party. Honestly, I was surprised. I thought she would only allow Zimuzor.

But here I am, wreathing myself from one corner of the hall to another, like an evil spirit. Flirting and whining around, since I'm back to being single as a dollar.

I like the way I'm feeling now,
No come use your reggae,
Spoil my blues and rhythm now,
I like the way I'm feeling now,
Omo e get small things wey dey stress me,
But right now I'm chilling now...

"Do you wanna dance with me?" I looked up to behold Teddy Nnale. He was looking dashing in the simple sparkling white hoodie and black joggers that he was wearing.

I looked around. I thought he had a girlfriend?

"Amarachi is dancing with someone else." He said, reading my mind.

I sighed and took his hands, bringing my right hand to rest on his shoulder. He snaked his hand around my waist and we talked while doing some silly dance moves. I wasn't much of a dancer.

I can tell that all the bad things,
You making me do,
Is nothing to you,
You just want to injure me with that thing (Injure me with that thing),

I've been looking at you all day,
You making me craze,
You making me gbes,
You just want to injure me with that thing (Injure me with that thing),

Omo yii wa j'eba,
Omo yii mo ni wa j'eba,
Omo o ma tele mi
Lo Oluyole.....

"I've warned you severally to stop that news. It's already faded and everyone already knows!" Even with the blaring song playing, we could make out the voice of Naomi Ike.

That girl loves drama eh..

"What's she up to again?" I muttered, shaking my head.

"Drama. That's what she's living for." Teddy retorted.

"Nobody knows this one! And I will so disgrace you today. Just wait." Nelson, the purposed most handsome guy in our set, shouted after her.

What was really going on?

"Alright, shout it! Loud it!! Idiot." Naomi hissed, yelling on top of her lungs. She was moving towards the back of the hall.

Lady, I dey call you answer,
Baby, Me I want to pamper you today,
Give me chance, Me I no go use you play,
O na na na

Make our body join body tonight ,
And I wan know if e dey possible,
Oo oo
I wanna put my hands on ur waist,
Me I fit give you all my paper,
I'm addicted to you,
And I don't know what to do

She cussed under her breathe and she stopped between Sarah that was flirting with an uninterested Zimuzor. She looked around, battered her lashes and positioned her mouth in a way that made her intention to let out a spine chilling hiss, obvious. Although it couldn't be heard, the hit jams drowned it.

At this point, I was not dancing again, rather Teddy and I moved our body in similar directions, mimicking a ball dance. Our eyes lingered on Naomi's silhouette.

"I slept with Zimuzor!" She yelled, making her words audible as fuck.

Nelson moved to where she was. "Is that all?" He scowled at her.

Rolling her eyes, she nibbled her bottom lips, hesitating to speak again.

"I guess I'll help you with that?" Nelson glared at her with pure disdain. He seemed to wait, to know if she would that as a cue for her to let everything out of the bag.

The Dj had stopped playing the song, wondering why no one was vibing again to the songs. Rather we were all still, watching a gradually unfolding scene.

Naomi sighed as she rubbed her temples for a while. "And I fucked Mr Stanley."

I pursued my lips, exchanging glances with Teddy who simply shrugged. He held my waist and motioned on me to dance. But I couldn't.

Not with the situation at hand. Talk more of the fact that no song was blaring from the speakers again.

I gulped down.

Why was I even bothered?!

Kaima when did you stop minding your business??

Lawd!

"It's her life." I shrugged, suddenly gripping Teddy's biceps as I stood on my tippy toes for a brief moment, pecking his rough lips.

How soon had I forgotten that he was Amarchi's man?

My shoulders shook as I laughed with Adanna. It was already ten pm and the party had long come to an end. We were both heading towards the school gate when she reminded me of Zimuzor.

"He should be fast," I sighed. It was already late and I had no idea how we would make it back home this night.

Most parents had come to pick up their children. But I dared not to call my mom. Heavens knew she wouldn't move a muscle if I had called her. Rather, she would scold me for attending the party without making plans for my return.

"Did you give them your number?" Adanna plucked a flower from one of bowl shaped flower pots, that stood orderly in line.

At first, I cocked her a brow. And just before she could elaborate, I sighed, having an idea of what she was talking about.

"Yes," I truthfully answered.

After the graduation night party came to an end, some of our set boys rushed to most of us, initiating the action of exchanging contacts.

Fortunately for me, and not them, I had told given them the number which I would change as soon as I get a new phone. For some weeks ago, I had purchased a new sim card.

Of course, my purpose of not giving them my new number was to minimize the number of idiots that would slip into my WhatsApp Dm, spitting out all sort of thrash.

And fuck! I was really tired of blocking and deleting numerous numbers of randam assholes that proved to be not just senseless but parasitic in nature.

Uugh!

Dealing with parasites is so not my thing.

"He's probably the one approaching us." Adanna's voice snapped me out of my personal thoughts, getting to whip my head towards the direction her gaze lingered at.

Zimuzor.

That asshole.

Fucking Naomi Ike was so not my damn business but for him to have a massive crush on Ezinne and go around messing around with other girls was totally uncalled for. Especially, when she was my favourite cousin.

"God! What's delaying this lad?!" Adanna pouted as she glared at Zimuzor who seemed to be waiting for someone that was calling on him.

I watched intently, figuring out without much trouble who that feminine stature belonged to.

Talking about Olamma running towards him and enveloping him in a tight bear hug. "Cute," Adanna must have smiled, upon saying that.

I smirked, knowing better.

I tapped feverishly on the kitchen counter, feeling something surge through me.

"Seriously," Zimuzor shrugged before taking the last gulp of the Gordon in his right hand. "We are even."

I glared at him as though he was suddenly nuts. How could he dare compare his filthy casanova ass to me?

Right there and then, I was filled with indignation that I suddenly wished him to pass out under the influence of the strong wine he had taken.

My hands itched to kiss his face in a hot slap but I knew better. Having nowhere to satisfy my heart desire upon, I slammed my clenched fist on the counter.

"Careful," He furrowed his brows at me. "You would wake up your mother."

"I'm not like you!" I shouted, hoping that mom wouldn't get awoken.

He shrugged again. "You were flirting with Teddy Nnale."

My eyes widend a quarter. Oh! So this was where our discussion was heading to?

"You kissed him," He stated. "knowing fully well that he is a thing with Amarchi. Are you not ashamed of judging me? Really Kaima, you are just as guilty as I am."

After few seconds of uncomfortable silence, he continued. "You never allowed Dindu near another girl. Why would you then be messing with another girl's man?"

"Look, Zimuzor..."

He cut me off the line as he spoke with his bottom lips inbetween his teeth. "Pass my case."

"W-What?!" I nearly pulled my hair out of it's root. He was getting me irritated and annoyed.

I wanted him, as many other would, to just shut up and accept the fact that he was wrong. Not to remind me of how much flawed I was.

"Goodnight." He muttered in a tone of finality, letting out a frustrated sigh before exiting the kitchen.

That imp!

I gritted my teeth, feeling much more feverish than I had earlier been when this discussion was me having the upper hand.

Feeling a bit ashamed, I put off the lights and stormed out of the kitchen to my room, wondering who else in another corner of this world, had a graduation ceremony as horrible as mine.
