Jimin was beaming from ear to ear as he stared proudly at the ring on his finger. He couldn't believe how things had changed in a matter of hours. Some time ago, he had loathed Taehyung's presence, determined not to have anything to do with him again but here he was grinning from ear to ear at being engaged to him.

"It looks nice. Where did you get it?" Jimin said staring at the glistening golden ring with a green jewel fixed at the middle

Taehyung grinned. "You don't wanna know"

Jimin wasn't satisfied with his answer. "What do you mean? It can't be that expensive"

"That's a thirty carat gold ring"

Jimin gasped. "What the hell..."

Taehyung nodded blankly. Jimin was flabbergasted. He was wearing something that expensive in his finger. He proceeded to pull it out but Taehyung stopped him.

"What are you doing?"

"I can't be seen wearing something that expensive on my finger"

Taehyung chuckled. "Don't be too modest. I want you to flaunt it off so everyone can know how much I spoil you"

Jimin smiled uneasily. "I understand Tae but remember I'm not the materialistic type"

Taehyung nodded. "I know that but please don't refuse me if I want to spend on you. It doesn't matter what you do with the things I get you. I just want to lavish you with things"

"More than expensive gifts, I'll cherish spending time with you more"

Taehyung inwardly smiled. Jimin was a keeper. He wasn't moved by expensive things. He didn't care about what he gives to him. All he wanted was Taehyung. His heart was filled with emotions. He suddenly reached out and pulled Jimin in for a hug squeezing him tight.

"Yah... you're nearly suffocating me" Jimin murmured into Taehyung's chest

Taehyung softened his hug so Jimin could breathe more freely then he kissed his forehead before flashing him a smile.

"You are different from everyone else I've ever met. I'm glad"

Jimin shook his head. "You are so sappy"

He looked at the engagement ring and sighed with a smile. "Okay then, I'm keeping a thirty carat engagement ring on my finger. No biggie"

Taehyung was finally satisfied. Jimin suddenly grabbed Taehyung's hand. "Come with me to my house. I have to tell Nanny the good news"

There was a secret tunnel leading to the Park Mansion. The two men came through the tunnel and stopped when the huge building was before them. Jimin was already giddy with excitement as he led Taehyung inside the house. There was no problem with him bringing Taehyung to the mansion since they were officially boyfriends.

When both men entered the house, it was strange to see Nanny Jihye was right in front of them. She glared angrily at Taehyung and the latter could feel the animosity coming from her side. She turned to face Jimin with a questioning gaze.

"Just what on earth is happening here? Just last week, you couldn't even stand this man so why now are you two together?"

Jimin slowly came up to the woman. "Calm down Nanny. Let me explain everything"

He told her what transpired and Nanny Jihye stared at Taehyung with surprise.

"I can't believe this. The world is indeed a small place. Is this coincidence or fate? You are the same boy from twelve years ago? The same boy we found in the middle of the road nearly dead?"

Taehyung nodded his head.

Nanny Ji hye "It's destiny! There's no other explanation. You two were meant to be from the very beginning"

The newly engaged couple shared a smile before Jimin cleared his throat.

"Em... Nanny, There's one other thing I have to tell you"

He raised his finger to show the engagement ring and a loud gasp escaped from Nanny Ji hye's lips.

"Don't tell me..."

Jimin nodded and Nanny Ji hye was beside herself with joy. She held his hand to stare at the ring.

"It's beautiful Jiminah. It looks expensive too"

Jimin looked at Taehyung and cleared his throat nervously. "It's thirty carat..."

"Thirty what?"

Taehyung laughed. "It's nothing much. My baby is well deserving of the finest of things. I don't care how much it costs but if it's for Jimin, it's worth it"

Nanny Ji hye nodded with a smile. "I can see that"

Jimin shook his head smiling tiredly. Nanny Ji hye sighed and looked at Taehyung with a serious expression.

"I'm so happy that you are now ready to make things official. Like I said, Jimin is like a son to me and I love him very much. I would never tolerate anything that brings him unhappiness"

He narrowed her eyes at Taehyung. "But you broke your promise to me. You said you were never going to bring tears to Jimin's eyes but because of you, Jimin cried like I've never seen. He was hurt, depressed and angry. How can I still trust your words after that"

Taehyung was silent for a while before he spoke "I'm very sorry. I'm sorry that I made him cry. I thought I was confident enough to be keep him happy all the time but I'm ashamed that I'm still human"

"There will always be good and bad days. There's no escaping that but i can assure you, I'll never hurt him intentionally. For every hurt he experiences for my sake, I'll make it up to him a thousand more times. I'll never leave him. We'll fight and argue but it will only make our bond stronger"

Nanny Ji hye gave him a sharp look. "I hope you keep to your word. Take care of my Jimin for me. He's been through so much ever since he was little. He deserves nothing but love and happiness so give him your undivided attention and loyalty"

"I promise to do that Nanny" Taehyung answered.

Jimin who was shy all these while the two were talking about finally grabbed Taehyung's hand.

"Nanny, we'll be in my room" He said quickly and without another word, he dragged Taehyung up the stairs to his room. When they were finally inside, they were both quiet. After some seconds, Taehyung grinned, his eye brows raised.

"Jimin, I didn't know you are so brazen. What are you bringing me to your room for?"

Jimin pretended to be oblivious. "Whatever do you mean?"

Taehyung scoffed and started to slowly walk towards him. Jimin blinked rapidly at him as Taehyung stood face to face with him.

"Are you pretending not to know?"

His eyes fell on his lips. "The two of us here alone without prying eyes...."

Jimin cut in. "You only think such dirty thoughts"

Taehyung pouted looking absolutely disappointed.

"I brought you here because...."

Jimin lowered his eyes shyly. "I want us to be alone. I want us to share deep thoughts with each other"

Taehyung grumbled with a hint of sarcasm. "We could have shared our deep thoughts at our special place. Why did you have to bring me to your bedroom"

Jimin snickered. "Sorry. It's just... you've never been here before. I thought this could be an opportunity"

Taehyung nodded his head and finally conceeded. He started to look around the big room. There were pictures, awards and trophies fixed on the shelves and walls. Taehyung took his time to peruse over them. Jimin was really smart growing up from middle school to his college years always mantaining tops in school. He was the valedictorian during his graduation and judging from the pictures, it seemed he had lots of friends and acquaintances.

However, he lingered more on an old picture of little Jimin being held in the arms of a pretty young woman. They seemed to be at a place which resembled an amusement park.

"Who is this woman?" He asked.

Jimin's face fell and sadness flashed through his eyes. He took the picture frame from where it was placed on the shelf and caressed it wearing a painful smile.

"She's my mother. She passed away when I was eight"

Taehyung stared at Jimin with pity.

"I'm sorry. It must have been hard"

Jimin nodded. "Yeah...it was. It was also very hard for me to understand how my father could get over my mother so quickly. He loved her very much"

"Your father did?"

Jimin nodded. "Yeah. He used to take her out on their anniversary and buy her flowers frequently. Sometimes, he would sing songs for her and they would dance around the living room. I never heard them fight. Not even once. When my mom had the car accident and died, my Dad was devastated for days. He didn't eat or sleep. He just stayed in their room crying and drinking..."

His voice became lower. "Then three months later, my Dad brought home Hana and Jungkook. He introduced them to me as my step mother and half brother. I couldn't believe that my father got over my mother's death so quickly. It hadn't even been a year"

Taehyung could feel the sadness withing Jimin and cuddled him in his arms.

"It's alright. The past doesn't matter anymore. I'm going to be your family soon. You'll begin a new life with me and I'll try as much as possible to help you forget"

Jimin became quiet as he looked at Taehyung with sad eyes.

"What about you Tae? Can you forget?"

Silence. Taehyung looked at him, his eyes searching the other's.

"Can you really forget what you went through? You're going to marry the son of the man who killed your parents. How can you be so calm about it"

Taehyung nodded his head then smiled.

"It's because of love"

"What?"

"After falling in love with you, I realized that my feelings are more important than revenge"

Jimin sighed. "I bet you've spent years drawing up your plans. What happens now because no matter what, my relationship with you doesn't change the fact that my father is responsible for your parents death. You deserve some kind of retribution"

"I do don't I?" Taehyung smiled painfully. "I have thought of so many terrible and tortous ways to take out my revenge. I devised plans. I even took over your company..."

At that, Taehyung realized he said too much. Jimin stared at him for answers and Taehyung smiled nervously.

"I promise Jimin, I'll give it back"

Jimin shook his head. "You really went all out...even taking over the company"

Taehyung scratched his head. "Like I said, I had a lot of things set up to destroy your family. I was even set on buying up your house and estates"

"Kim Taehyung!"

"Sorry babe"

Jimin suddenly smiled surprising Taehyung. "It doesn't matter. Do whatever is necessary to make my father pay. If you want to buy up the house, the estates or the company, you can. Do whatever you want as long as it doesn't involve shedding blood. From this moment on, I'll always be on your side"

Taehyung smiled warmly.
"I'm thankful but I promise I'll give it back"

"I don't care!"

"I really will"

"I don't care!"

Taehyung pulled Jimin closer. The latter giggled and they fell onto the bed. They stopped giggling and looked straight into each other's eyes both arms hugging each other

"I have a confession to make Tae..." Jimin whispered

"Go on" Taehyung said in a soft sultry voice.

"I had planned to make you fall for me so you would stop taking revenge on my family. Isn't that selfish of me?"

Taehyung wasn't surprised "Why should it? They are your family. Your first priority would be to protect them even when they don't deserve it. If anything, they should be lucky they have you"

He suddenly kissed his nose. "By the way, we both fell for each other on Day 72"

Jimin was surprised "You're still keeping count?"

"Always"

Jimin buried his head shyly into Taehyung's chest. "I guess that's it. Day 72, the day we officially fell for each other"

They kissed and blushed fiercely afterwards.

"So, how do you want to get married?" Taehyung said

Jimin smiled "Let's take it slow. We'll have time to discuss that later. For now, let's just stay like this, enjoying each other's company

Taehyung smiled. He could do just that.
