The reality that Yoongi and Jungkook were now engaged and were set to marry was a pill too bitter for Jimin to swallow. He started to question himself, started to ask the heavens why things turned out the way they did but he got no answer.

Everyone expected him to accept his fate. They expected him to accept his reality and move on. Yoongi tried to get closer to him again. He tried to make them become friends again to bridge the gap between them. It was hard to accept it because Jimin really wanted to distance himself from him. He didn't want to have anything to do with him anymore but his heart couldn't bear it. He still had feelings for him. Ridding himself off such feelings would be very difficult.

So when Yoongi asked to have a drink with him, he accepted it. When he asked to chat with him, he went to him. When he asked for him, he was always there. He was hopeless, he knew that but he really couldn't help himself. However, one day he made a life changing decision to commit himself to Buddhism. No longer would he be of the earthly world thereby  giving in to earthly desires.

He started going to the temple frequently to offer prayers hoping that by doing so, it would help cleanse his heart from this intense feeling of pain and anger. When the rest of the family discovered what he was doing, they were amused.

"Are you that desperate to live in denial?" Jungkook asked him one day when he had returned from the temple. Jimin didn't even glance at him.

"Just leave me alone Jungkook. It's not your business what I do with my life"

Jungkook chuckled. "Indeed it's not but doing this won't stop the inevitable"

Jimin finally glanced at him and scoffed. "You like this don't you? You enjoy making me miserable!"

Jungkook shook his head. "No I don't. It's just... when I see you living like this, it irritates me. Acting so good, so pure, for what reasons? Why can't you live with passion for once? Show your emotions! Get angry, curse at everyone! Hate me!"

Jimin shook his head. "Why would I stoop that low? You all are not worth it"

Jungkook nodded and eyed him. Jimin glared back at him. "Yoongi was my first love. I wanted so desperately to be with him that I dreamed of it every night. I thought I had a future with him but it turned out i was a fool all along. He chose you over me. It's hard and I'm trying to accept it. What more do you want..."

Then he frowned " but I want to tell you...."

He exhaled deeply "If you hurt him, I will never forgive you"

Jungkook rolled his eyes.

"You have to live up to him. You must never ever betray him. I don't trust you Kookie. I know what you're capable of"

Jungkook laughed hard. "Indeed, you know me very well big brother. You also know that i live as passionately as I can. That's just me. Nothing can hold me back from living the life I really desire. Be it the finest of things...the finest of men..."

He licked his lips. "I want them all...and I won't hold back from getting them so no one can keep me on a leash. Not even for the sake of marriage"

Jimin glared at the other. "You're really shameless... I'm warning you. Don't you dare hurt Yoongi"

Jungkook frowned. "And don't you dare threaten me" he whispered in an angry tone. He flipped his hair and walked away in a catlike motion.

One day, Jimin finished work at the hospital. He was leaving the building when a figure came up to him.

"Hello! Saint Jimin!" Taehyung said beaming, his eyes held a teasing glint.

Jimin rolled his eyes when he discovered it was Taehyung then smiled faintly when the other approached him. Taehyung stopped, suddenly staring at him with mouth agape. Jimin noticed his staring and grew uncomfortable.

"What?"

Taehyung pointed at his clothes "Why are you wearing that?"

Jimin was wearing a white gown.  A long brown bead was dangling down his neck. Taehyung struggled to hold back his laughter.

"Are you training to be a monk?"

He finally couldn't hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.

"Yeah...laugh all you want!" Jimin murmured.

"Tell me, what's going on"

"I've decided to dedicate myself to Buddha. I want to gain a clear mind and free conscience, to live without grudges and anger"

Taehyung was amused "What? Did someone break your heart? Now, you're really living up to your nick name...."

He grinned. "Saint Jimin"

Jimin ignored him. He had gotten accustomed to Taehyung's teasing already. Suddenly, Taehyung leaned closer to him locking his eyes with his. Jimin's breath hitched feeling Taehyung was much too close. His tongue suddenly felt dry.

"Isn't it a shame that you want to dedicate yourself to Buddha especially when you don't even know what it feels like to be touched by someone" His voice was deep and soothing.

Jimin blinked as his heart started to pound faster "Hey...step away from me, don't get any closer..."

Taehyung snickered. "Why? Does my words affect you?"

"Savage..." Jimin muttered under his breath. "What are you doing? Are you flirting with me?"

His face was flushed.

Taehyung suddenly stepped away from him looking amused. "Flirt with you? Don't get ahead of yourself sweetheart. I already have someone else in my heart"

Jimin stared at him. "You have someone? Who could that be?"

Taehyung smirked. "He's a very passionate man. Someone very different from you"

Jimin eyed him. "Good for you, I hope he's a good one"

He started leaving but Taehyung caught up with him. "He is...I could introduce you to him you know...you could learn a thing or two from him"

"You are much too restrained. You need to live life to the fullest while you're young"

Jimin arched his brows. "You sound a lot like someone I know"

He sighed. "However, thanks for your advice but I don't need to live a full life to be happy. The life I live right now is more than enough for me. It brings me happiness and satisfaction knowing that I can bring smiles on the faces of people less privileged than I am...for me, that's what gives my life meaning"

Taehyung was silent. Simply watching as the moonlight cast a beautiful glow on Jimin's face. It was a peaceful moment and the smile on the latter's face brought him a warm feeling. But that beautiful glow on Jimin's face disappeared and was replaced with tension. Taehyung followed his sight. His eyes was now fixed on a couple of children gathered at the corner of the street. He could make out a tiny figure in their midst. The small figure was being thrown from all sides, left and right until he was pushed to the ground and stepped on.

"Hey you! You little rascals! Stop that!" Jimin yelled and ran towards the group of children but as soon as they saw him, they scampered off quickly leaving the tiny figure on the ground.

Jimin finally reached the boy with Taehyung following at his heels. He gasped in horror as he saw the terrible state the boy was in. He was very skinny and his body was covered with sores both new and old ones. He was gasping for breath and blood flowed from one part of his eye.

Jimin crouched down to him and quickly examined his wounds. He was a professional so he had no time to complain. The boy was bleeding rapidly and he could pass out at anytime.

Thankfully, the medical center was still nearby so he struggled to carry the boy but Taehyung gently pushed him aside and carried the boy in his arms himself. His face was expressionless and Jimin couldn't tell what he was thinking but he didn't have the luxury to find out.

"Let's go!" He simply said and they rushed back to the center. When they arrived, the nurse on duty quickly rushed to them and helped arrange a room where they could keep the boy. Taehyung watched as Jimin got to work, instructing the nurse on what to do.

He finally stopped the bleeding and the boy was cleaned up and bandaged. He fell asleep soon after and Jimin tiredly dragged his leg to his office. Taehyung followed behind and watched as Jimin dumped himself on his leather seat.

"You did good"

Jimin smiled "Thanks...."

He paused then sighed. "Why would they do such a thing?"

Taehyung folded his arms across his chest and shook his head "It's how this town works. There's no law and order. People don't care about each other because they all back stab and betray themselves just to survive in this terrible place. Their behaviors rub off on their children. That's why you see this kind of things happening all the time"

Jimin pouted "That's bad....Poor boy. Doesn't he have parents? He must have a family we can report to"

Taehyung shook his head. "Don't be surprised he doesn't have anyone. Lots of parents abandon their kids these days"

"It's all because of those nasty and greedy politicians!"He growled, his voice was filled with distaste. Jimin could sense it and it made his skin crawl.

Jimin was ashamed. Now more than ever, his identity couldn't be revealed. He couldn't let anyone know he was from one of those greedy elite families governing this town. It made him uncomfortable to talk about this topic so he quickly diverted it. He decided to focus on other things so he stood up from his seat and walked towards his shelf. There was a stool under the shelf which he normally used to reach the top. Jimin climbed the stool and Taehyung watched him critically.

"Yah... what are you doing?"

"I want to write a doctor's report on the boy" Jimin answered.

Taehyung put his hand on his hips and watched as Jimin held a file in his hand but as he was climbing down, the stool shook and he found himself crashing to the ground, the file flying from his hands but instead of solid hard ground, he landed on something mildly hard. He looked up and met solid brown eyes staring back at him and his heart began to thump in his chest when he realized that strong solid arms were wrapped around his waist and a hard object was trapped between his legs. Coupled with that, those eyes were still looking at him piercingly.

Jimin wanted to die. He jumped up screaming at the top of his voice and hugging himself tight while wearing a frightened expression on his face.

Taehyung gradually stood up looking at him with amusement. "What? Why are you acting like that? Is it that bad to be held by a man?"

Jimin's lips trembled as he stuttered "I have dedicated myself...."

Taehyung nodded. "Yeah...yeah... you have dedicated yourself to Buddha, vowing to remain innocent and pure. You're quite the Angel"

Then he frowned. "But it seems you're ignoring one thing. I just broke your fall right now. Shouldn't you be more worried about me rather than protecting your chastity?"

Jimin cleared his throat looking guilty but still mantaining a safe distance between them.

"Are you okay?" He whispered

Taehyung eyed him. "I'll live!"

Jimin nodded. "Um... shouldn't you be going home now? It's already late"

"What about you?"

"I want to stay and monitor the boy's condition"

Taehyung shrugged. "Okay fine... I'll come tomorrow to check up on him"

"Okay... goodnight" Jimin whispered. It was like he couldn't wait for him to leave. Taehyung laughed within himself. Just a small contact and he was acting like he had sexually assaulted him.

"Okay... goodnight... Saint Jimin"

He smirked and walked out of the office. Jimin released the breath he had been holding all along as soon as Taehyung left, his heart thumping wildly.

"What a Savage" He whispered.
