Forty Eight (Final Chapter)

Two Years Later

Nanny Ji hye was running after the two year old toddler in the corridor.

"Joy! Come back here. You shouldn't run around!" She cried then stopped when she saw the little girl was paying no attention to her.

"I'm too old for this. I should probably retire somewhere to an island and live out my remaining days" She groaned.

Behind her Namjoon appeared followed by Jin. Namjoon chuckled.

"Aunt but we offered. However, you refused"

"Guess I'm too attached to this family to let go"

Then she remembered the little girl she had been running after few seconds ago and let out a long sigh.

"Joy! Joy!" She shouted while the other two followed her tracing the whereabouts of the girl to an open room.

There, Joy sat on the laps of Jimin who was playing with her. Her face was full of smiles as she tugged at his front hair giggling.

"Eomma! Eomma!" She kept calling out to him

Nanny Jihye immediately reached out about to take Joy from Jimin's arms but the latter still held his daughter.

"Don't worry. Let her stay with me"

"Come here Joy, don't you know you'll ruin your father's clothes?"

Then she took a good look at Jimin, her heart full with mixed emotions. These last two years hadn't been easy. After the shooting incident with Yoongi, once again, Jimin was left to fight for his life.

They managed to bring him to the hospital but  he had almost given up the ghost. It was a miracle he didn't die. Thankfully, they performed an immediate surgery on him which was able to save his life but put him in coma for the next two months.

During that time, Yoongi had been arrested, tried in court and sentenced to life in prison. While in prison, he encountered Mr Park who was determined to make the life of his former son in law extremely miserable. Yoongi couldn't cope. Six months later, he would take his own life by hanging himself with a rope in his cell room. He would later be buried next to Jungkook's grave keeping his promise of following him to the after life.

Meanwhile, the whole ordeal had been hell for Taehyung. He lost appetite. He could hardly sleep. He spent every waking hour beside Jimin hoping he would finally wake up. There was nothing anyone could do to help him so they all left him until one day, Jimin woke up. Everyone was overjoyed with the news. Life finally returned to Taehyung's soul but the worst was yet to come.

After a series of tests was done on Jimin, It was discovered that he had lost the use of his legs. He couldn't walk anymore and it wasn't certain when he would be able to walk again. Jimin was distraught. Everything suddenly seemed bleak. He couldn't handle the unfortunate news and depression ate deep within him but everyone was supportive. They tried hard to encourage him. Taehyung employed the best therapists and doctors to rejuvenate Jimin.

It was a painful and gruesome process. At first, it didn't seem as if the therapy was working but the encouragement of his loved ones was enough to keep him going.

Time passed and he watched as Joy slowly grew up. She was crawling at first till she started walking. It was an extremely emotional moment for him and it made him even more eager to walk again so he could run and play around with her not stuck in one position. Two years passed and finally, all his efforts bore fruit. With a lot of difficulty, he started to walk again. At first, he did so with the aid of crutches until he no longer needed the crutches anymore and could walk well on his own. Taehyung was so happy, he threw an expensive party much to Jimin's surprise.

It was attended by everyone close to them. It was there in that party that Taehyung went on his knee and proposed to Jimin a second time with an even more expensive diamond ring than the first time. Jimin was surprised by the expensive ring but that wasn't enough to stop him from saying yes.

Now here he was preparing to marry the love of his life a second time. Nanny Jihye found herself sobbing.

"You look so handsome. I'm so proud of you! You have gone through so much. I was afraid you wouldn't overcome them but look at you now. Now I only wish you happiness"

She helped to straighten his white suit before giving him a peck on the cheek. Jin and Namjoon were looking at him with admiration in their eyes.

Jimin gulped trying hard to hold back his tears. The last thing he wanted was a smudged eye. Yeontan rushed inside looking all clean and proper. He had grown taller. He was dressed in a nice suit with his hair trimmed and styled.

"The minister has arrived" Yeontan said looking excited. Without another word, he took Joy from Jimin's arms.

"Appa, Dad is waiting for you." He said.

Jimin answered with a smile on his face as he fondled the other's hair lovingly and grabbed his bouquet of flowers.

"Let's go!" He whispered.

He didn't know why but marrying for the second time had a certain kind of thrill. The first time, they got married, it had been at the spur of the moment. They had gone into marriage out of pressure because they were trying to prove their relationship was real but now, everything went smoothly, at it's own pace. They had taken time to know each other, to truly know everything. Though it's impossible to know another person completely but now, they knew the things they were supposed to know and they loved even more deeply than before, supporting each other all the way. Jimin had expanded his hospital and even built two more. He employed more doctors and gave some children scholarship. This time, all funded by himself being co CEO to the newly renamed company JT industries. With Taehyung's strong support, he was able to fulfill his humanitarian dreams and make it a reality. This made people love and admire him. Soon, Jimin was just as beloved to everyone as his partner Kim Taehyung was and the people welcomed him as one of their own.

As he walked down the aisle towards the other who was also dressed in white waiting for him, he thought of everything he had lost and gained. He lost his family but gained a new one. Maybe he is selfish but he rather prefers the new one as he replaces the old with nothing more than memories.

He finally arrived in front of Taehyung who was looking devastatingly handsome in a matching white suit. He took his hand and they stood in front of the minister.

They were marrying at their backyard. This time, Taehyung agreed to a simplistic styled wedding and found that he rather liked sharing his good days with his closest family and friends without all the pomp and peagantry. The air was nice and everything seemed perfect. Jimin couldn't contain his tears and broke down in the midst of saying his vows. Taehyung comforted him till he felt a bit better.

They finally concluded saying their vows and the minister pronounced them husbands. People cried and laughed at the same time. It was a really emotional moment when they kissed in front of everyone sealing their union. Yeontan started to pour them flowers and soon the atmosphere became a joyous one.

The reception took place and before long, it was time to go for their honey moon. They both decided they would travel on a ship leaving behind all cares and worries for a while before returning to face the realities of the world.

They both entered their car as the others bid them farewell. Hoseok, Nanny Jihye, Jin, Namjoon and Yeontan who was carrying Joy. The toddler had cried when she realized her parents were leaving her but they pacified her by taking turns kissing and cuddling her till she fell asleep and they could finally escape.

The newly married couple bid goodbye to the others as they started the car and drove off. Few minutes to the drive, Taehyung stopped the car in front of an open land.

"Yeobo, why are we stopping here?"

Taehyung smiled nervously "Well, I need you to meet some people who are very close to me"

He reached at the back of the car and brought out a bunch of flowers. He gave one to Jimin then took his hand and together, they walked through the land. When Jimin finally came across the two tomb stones, he finally understood where they were.

"Say your greetings. These are my parents"

Jimin joined his hands and bowed his head in respect.

"The reason i never brought you here this whole time was because my heart was still full of pain for the death of my parents"

He smiled. "But today, that pain has completely disappeared. I feel so much lighter now and now, I can bring you to them without any feeling of pain"

Jimin sighed "I figured you had a reason for not letting me visit your parent's grave but now, I'm glad that you did"

Taehyung held his hand tightly and looked straight ahead at the tomb Stones. "Eomma, Appa. This is Jimin, the person I love and the one I'm spending the rest of my life with. I'm happy to have met this person. He completely changed my life and because of him, I can finally let the pain of your deaths pass"

Jimin smiled. "I didn't just change his life. He changed mine too and I'm very happy that we were able to find each other. And I'm sure that wherever you are, you have seen the wonderful man he grew up to be so don't worry I'll love him and take care of him through the good, the bad and ugly. I promise to never leave his side"

Taehyung blinked back his tears. "I'll never leave your side too. You are stuck with me forever"

Jimin laughed. Together, they placed the flowers on top of the graves, bowed their heads for the last time before they turned to leave.

"So dear husband, Where are we really going?"

Taehyung chuckled. "Does it matter? Anywhere is fine as long as we are together"

Jimin nodded and pressed a kiss on his lips. "You're right. Anywhere is fine" He whispered.

They entered their car and with held hands, drove towards the sunset.
