Saudade - TWO
"Kageyama!" Hinata shouted seeing the boy sitting in his desk. Kageyama turned to look at Hinata confused before he saw him waving a game in his hands. Hinata walked towards him and pulled out a seat to sit in front of his desk.
"Is this the game?" He asked taking it from the boys hands and examining it. He turned it around and read through the details of the game before looking up at Hinata.
"Yes! We can go over my house later and play it," Hinata smiled. Kegeyama nodded handing it back.
"Oh here!" Hinata pulled out a small milk cartoon handing it Kageyama. The tall boy just stared at it as if he was in love.
"I got myself some orange juice," Hinata stated taking his drink out. Kageyama smiled widely and thanked him.
"Hey Kageyama!" A girl came in interrupting the conversation. Kageyama turned to look at her confused. She was standing too close to him for his liking.
"Hey, Meiko," he nodded trying to turn his attention to Hinata.
"Akemi and I were wondering if you would like to have lunch with us," she twirled her hair between her fingers, Kageyama looked at her intently as she spoke and Hinata stared at the two. Hinata stood up quickly and clumsily shocking the two people in front of him. His intention was to leave the two alone even though he wanted to keep talking to his friend, Kageyama had a similar thought and wasn't going to let his friend leave.
"Actually, we are having a discussion about volleyball and we need to meet with our other teammates right now," Kageyama stood up quickly, "I'll have lunch with you and Akemi tomorrow, alright Meiko?" He grabbed Hinata by the arm and dragging him out of the classroom as Meiko stared at the two with a small pout.
"You should've stayed and talk to her!" Hinata said shocked, "she clearly likes you!" Kageyama kept walking but glanced a little at Hinata when he said that.
"Maybe you like her too and you rejected her because we were talking about plans we had a while ago. She's really pretty and like super smart maybe you guys can date-" Hinata was stopped.
"I don't like her like that, you dumbass," Kageyama glared at the smaller boy. Hinata quickly shut up and continued to walk alongside Kageyama. He looked at the way Kageyama was still holding onto his arm and blushed.
"Uh, Kageyama?" Hinata spoke quietly.
"What?" Kageyama said too loudly for Hinatas liking, by accident he also ended up squeezing Hinatas arm a little too tight. The smaller boy immediately looked down.
"Can you let go of my arm?" He asked quietly, "you're kind of hurting me right now"
Kageyamas eyes widened and he dropped his hand before inspecting Hinatas. He saw a slightly red mark starting to form and immediately felt guilty about it.
"I'm so sorry!" He said pulling the boy into a hug, "I was too caught up and I forgot I was holding onto you!"
Hinata laughed a little, "it's alright, stupidyama."
Kageyama pulled away after a moment and stared at Hinata, "I don't like her." He felt the need to emphasize this, "I can't see myself with her and I genuinely have no feelings towards her."
"Alright," Hinata blushed a little. "You really didn't have to ramble on Kageyama. Save that for your future girlfriend that gets jealous of the girls after you."
Kageyama stopped and nodded. He didn't know what had come over him but it's not like Hinata cared if he liked someone or not. He took a small breath and smiled at his friend.
The boys sat by the gym and talked about volleyball.
The bell rang and Hinata walked to his class, thinking about how flustered Kageyama was. He felt a little happy that Kageyama was thinking about explaining himself like that but he knew he didn't mean it in any romantic way. He sighed as he walked into class, waiting for the school day to be over so Kageyama and him can go play the new video game.
At the end of the school day, Hinata was waiting for Kageyama outside of the school gates. He was excited to play the game.
Hinata saw Kageyama in the distance, Akemi and Meiko were at either sides of him he slightly frowned but managed to smile at the three people.
"Hey!" He said happily waving at the two girls. The two girls waved back at him and left Kageyama alone, they both said bye while walking away from him.
"They really like you," Hinata laughed a little.
"You're acting like you don't have girls after you," Kageyama smirked. He remembers how some girls had given him some letter, love confessions to be exact.
"I think their names are Chiyo and Gina," Hinata said after a second of silence, "they're in the soccer team."
"So theyre athletic," Kageyama pointed out, "they'd probably be pretty good liberos if you think of it."
Hinata nodded. The two boys walked in silence as they reached Hinatas house after 30 minutes and immediately started playing the game.
"You're loosing!" Hinata pointed out irritated. Kageyama kept insisting he was winning when it was clear he wasn't.
"I clearly collected more points than you," Kageyama said frowning.
"Where?" Hinata crossed his arms.
"In the damn game!"
"Well you're loosing and I just won," Hinata smirked as he fell onto his bed. Kageyama followed his movements and the two boys laughed.
"Finals are coming up," Kageyama said after a moment of silence. Hinata just groaned.
"You think we should ask Tsukishima or the second years for help?" Kageyama made a face as he said the blondes name.
"We should ask Yachi," Hinata stated making Kageyama instantly agree.
"We can just ask her on Monday when we see her," he said closing his eyes.
The two boys laid on the bed in silence. Thinking of finals, volleyball and secretly, of each other.
