💜Jungkook💜: meet me at the diner in 30?

Taehyung walks out of his room adjusting his hair as he heads to the front door.

It was strange because usually Jungkook would come get him before going to the diner but he didn't mind taking the bus.

"I'm going out with Jungkook." He tells Jakyung who stands in the kitchen.

"Alright sweetie be careful." She says glancing over her shoulder.

Taehyung stops looking at the women. He hesitates before walking over to her.

"Jakyung." He says getting her attention.

"Hm?" She says turning to him.

"I just wanted to thank you. For taking care of me. And my dad." Taehyung says looking down at his hands. He was never good when it came to things like this. "You've been so kind to us and I just. I'm thankful."

"You are welcome Taehyung. But you don't have to thank me. I'm here because I love the both of you." Jakyung says.

"We love you too." Taehyung says smiling before turning to leave.

"Don't come home to late tonight." Jakyung calls.

"I won't." Taehyung answers before walking out and closing the door behind him.

Just as he's walking out his father is walking in from his day at work.

    "Appa." Taehyung says bowing politely.

"Where are you headed?" His father asks.

    "Uptown." Taehyung says.

His father nods. "Alright. Well. Do you need anything? Are you alright?"

    "I'm fine." Taehyung says.

His father nods before turning to head inside.

    "Appa." Taehyung says.

"Yes son?" He turns to Taehyung.

"Are. Are you alright?" Taehyung asks.

His father smiles a little at the question. "I'm fine. Just be careful and have fun with your friends."

Taehyung nods bowing his head again before turning and skipping down the steps. The nearest bus stop is about a ten minute walk from the apartment complex but Taehyung doesn't complain about the distance. It's actually quite nice walking the streets of this part of town.

On the bus to the diner Taehyung thinks about Jungkook. Taehyung always thinks about Jungkook even when they're together.

Taehyung loved how their relationship seemed to just pick up where it left off after their little bump in the road. They seemed to be more in love than they ever had been in the past week they've rekindled everything in.

The only thing that has changed really is that the two of them don't spend much time at Jungkook's house unless his parents aren't there but not even really then.

They either spent time at Taehyung's or at the diner. The diner had become their new favorite hangout since they've been together again, even though it hasn't been long.

Taehyung walks down a block from the bus stop but before he can make it something, or someone rather, catches his wrist pulling him towards the alleyway near the diner.

A moment of sheer terror passes through Taehyung before he recognizes the figure dragging him along.

The women stops when they are out of view and turns to him with an agitated look on her face.

"M-Mrs. Jeon." Taehyung stutters bowing politely to the women before standing up straight and looking at her.

"What didn't you understand about our little chat Taehyung?" She asks before bitting her lip in pure irritation.

"I understood everything." Taehyung says his gaze resting on the ground and not Mrs. Jeon's glare.

"Then what is going on here?" She asks holding up Jungkook's cell phone.

Taehyung frowns when he sees the device in her hands.

"Look." Taehyung says again dropping his gaze. "I tried, okay? I really did try to stay away. But the longer I stayed it just hurt more and more. You said I'd get over it." Taehyung looks up to meet her blazing eyes. "But I can't get over him. I love him. And we make each other happy."

"'You make each other happy?'"  Mrs. Jeon spits with that same irritated look. "You don't know much about the business world, do you Taehyung?"

Taehyung shakes his head. "No I don't."

"Well. It's cold. And unforgiving." Mrs. Jeon says. "And in this world. Happiness isn't the first priority. And whatever you two have going on. This so called 'love' you have for each other. Definitely isn't either."

Taehyung swallows as he forces himself not to break eye contact.

"Everything I've sacrificed for this business and he has the nerve to do this to me?" Mrs. Jeon says shaking her head and casting her gaze down.

Taehyung looks down starting to feel uncomfortable.

"I'm being nice Taehyung, by asking you again. But don't take me for granted." Mrs. Jeon says looking up and meeting his gaze again. "I don't care about what you or Jungkook think you want. Ruin me, and I'll ruin you." Mrs. Jeon laughs at the expression on Taehyung's face. "Didn't I tell you it's a cruel world?"

"I have to go." Taehyung says turning to leave.

"You're not built to handle it Taehyung. So why don't you just take yourself out of the equation before he gets you hurt." She calls after him.

Taehyung stops looking back at her.

"I don't know much about your people." Mrs. Jeon starts walking nearer to him. "But whatever you want from Jungkook you're not going to get it."

"My people?" Taehyung asks narrowing his eyes.

"People of the lower class, poor people, for lack of a better word." Mrs. Jeon says crossing her arms.

Taehyung is speechless as he glares at the women but quickly regains himself. "You think I'm with Jungkook.. because of money?"

"I don't know. But I can't fathom why else you'd want anything to do with him." Mrs. Jeon says.

Taehyung scoffs sending her one final glare before walking away.

"This is your last chance Kim Taehyung. Walk away. Forget about him. Or I promise I'll make you regret it." She calls watching Taehyung disappear down the alley.

Jungkook groans in frustration as he searches the house for his cellphone. He can't even seem to remember the last place he had it.

He stands in the kitchen turning in circles when his mother enters through the garage door.

Jungkook ignores her continuing to look around the kitchen.

"You think you're so smart don't you?" His mother speaks up first.

Jungkook huffs turning to face her only out of respect as she speaks.

"You don't know anything." She says shaking her head. "You're just a child."

"What are you talking about?" Jungkook asks, his voice laced with annoyance.

Mrs. Jeon places Jungkook's cellphone down on the counter before looking up at her son.

"I gave up so much for everything I have now. And you can't even give up something as simple as a high school relationship. With a boy who cares nothing about you." She continues. "How selfish can you be?"

Jungkook still doesn't respond instead grabbing his phone from the counter.

"All I've sacrificed for this family. And you think you can just. Do this? To me? To your father? We gave up everything for this life. For you." Mrs. Jeon says.

"Don't act like you did me a favor." Jungkook said. "The only reason I'm here is to continue what you started."

"That's not true. You're my son Jungkook. I love you." Mrs. Jeon says the hurt she's feeling displayed on her face.

"You don't act like it." Jungkook shoots back.

"You don't even know half of what I did to get where I am today. I gave up my entire life so you could have a good upbringing. Not so you can stand here and talk to me like you've lost your mind, you ingrate." Mrs. Jeon says her hurt turning into anger.

"Is it my fault that you threw your life away? I didn't ask to be here." Jungkook says trying his best not to raise his voice.

Mrs. Jeon laughs humorlessly. "Did any of us ask to be here?" Mrs. Jeon shakes her head. "It's my fault really I guess. I've raised you to be so stubborn. You wouldn't even try to see it through my eyes if I got down on my knees and begged you."

"Why would I try to see it through your eyes when you won't try to see it through mine?" Jungkook says, his gaze is sharp when he meets his mother's eyes. "Don't you know what it's like? To love someone?"

Mrs. Jeon sighs in vexation and crosses her arms. "You're too young to know what love is."

"Then tell me. Is it like, when you see that person and your heart starts beating so fast it feels like it's going to beat out of your chest? Or when your heart skips a beat whenever they laugh or just simply smile?" Jungkook let's out a fond sigh. "Is it love when you feel incomplete without them. Or you start to get that homesick feeling. But for them. Whenever they aren't with you? Or do you feel completely torn in two?"

Mrs. Jeon bites her lip in irritation.

"It's crazy. Because if it is.. I'm feeling all of it. But like. Times ten." Jungkook says.

"You think that boy loves you Jungkook?" Mrs. Jeon asks with bitterness laced through her voice.

"I know he does." Jungkook says standing up straighter.

"He's going to ruin you." Mrs. Jeon says through clenched teeth.

"How? You've already done that part, Mother." Jungkook asks.

Mrs. Jeon's hands shake in fury as she glares at her son.

"You don't know. Do you?" Jungkook asks in shock.

"What are you talking about?" Mrs. Jeon spits.

"Love." Jungkook answers. "You don't know what it's like..to love someone."

Mrs. Jeon lets out a shakey breath as she tucks her hair behind her ear. "I already told you. I sacrificed everything for this. I gave up everything. I sacrificed love too. For you."

Jungkook frowns looking away from his mother.

"It's quite ironic isn't it? My entire life's a business deal." Mrs. Jeon laughs. "Even my divorce."

    "Divorce?" Jungkook asks looking up.

Mrs. Jeon chuckles but it's humorless. "Me and your father. If we split we'll have to split the cost of the property our building is on. We both win big in court."

Jungkook's speechless at the sudden information.

"You see Jungkook. In the business world. If you don't love. These things. They can't hurt you." Mrs. Jeon says, her voice is laced with hurt despite her words.

Mrs. Jeon walks out of the kitchen with no more than a pat on Jungkook's back before disappearing into the house.
