Jungkook wasn't lying when he said the restaurant was expensive.

Taehyung has never seen anything this extravagant in real life before and he feels instantly intimidated.

He doesn't say anything as he follows Jungkook to the front.

"You okay?" Jungkook asks smiling softly.

"Yeah." Taehyung nods looking around the place.

They walk up to the receptionist.

"Jeon." Jungkook says smiling cutely at the girl.

"Um. Right this way." She says blushing madly.

Jungkook smirks and looks back to make sure Taehyung follows.

     "Jeon Jungkook."

Jungkook stops suddenly and turns to a woman approaching them quickly.

"Thanks." Jungkook says dismissing the blushing receptionist.

"You're late." The woman says angrily.

"You said it started at seven. Mom. It's 6:45pm." Jungkook says looking down at the expensive watch he could barely read.

"Early is on time." His mother scolds.

"I am early." Jungkook says throwing his hands up.

"I'm not arguing with you." His mother says.

"Don't you think you're being a little rude to my guest?" Jungkook says gesturing to Taehyung.

His mother sighs and for the first time notices Taehyung's presence.

"This is my friend Kim Taehyung from school." Jungkook introduces placing his hand on the small of Taehyung's back to make him step up.

Taehyung bows politely. "It's nice to meet you."

"Likewise." His mother says before flashing an identical smile as her son's and holding out her hand.

Taehyung shakes her hand before she pulls it away and ushers them to take their seats.

"Go introduce yourself to their son. His name is...? Yoongi." Mrs. Jeon pushes Jungkook towards the young guy sitting at the end of the table.

Jungkook takes Taehyung's hand and drags him along to say hello.

"Um. Yoongi? Is it?" Jungkook asks formally.

The guy looks up at them with a sharp glare that makes Taehyung feel uncomfortable.

Jungkook release Taehyung's hand to hold his out to Yoongi. "I'm Jeon Jungkook."

"You don't have to pretend to be my friend because your parents are making a deal with us. We'll buy the land regardless of if I like you or not." Yoongi says looking back down at his phone and ignoring Jungkook's hand.

"Alright then." Jungkook says. "This is Taehyung. He goes to my school."

"Nice to meet you." Taehyung says bowing slightly.

"Nice to meet you too." Yoongi says still not looking up from his phone.

Jungkook looks at Taehyung to start a conversation.

"Um. Can we sit?" Taehyung asks.

"I don't know. Can you?" Yoongi says.

"May we." Taehyung corrects already fed up with the sarcasm.

Yoongi gestures to the seats across the table.

"So. Yoongi." Jungkook says. "Where you guys from?"

    "Not here." Yoongi says.

"Alright." Jungkook says before chewing  the skin of his cheek.

Taehyung just rolls his eyes. "Obviously not. That's why we're asking."

"Why do you care?" Yoongi asks looking up.

"I don't. But we're gonna be here for a while so why not get to know each other?" Taehyung asks matching Yoongi's glare this time.

"I don't want anything to do with either one of you." Yoongi says.

"You're just outta luck here then." Taehyung huffs.

Yoongi's glare somehow darkens before he looks back down at his phone.

Jungkook rolls his eyes. This guy was a hopeless case.

"How are the three of you getting along?" Mrs. Jeon appears at the end of the table.

"Just fine. You have a wonderful son Mrs. Jeon. And his friend here is nice as well." Yoongi suddenly gushes turning into the well mannered kid he definitely wasn't.

"Oh. Well that's just wonderful." Mrs. Jeon smiles proudly at Jungkook. "You guys enjoy yourselves down here."

Yoongi smirks at Jungkook as his mother walks away to the business end of the table.

    "What was that?" Jungkook asks.

"I know you're just a pawn in this business Mr. Jeon Jungkook. And I'm just telling your parents what they want to hear." Yoongi says.

"I don't know what you're talking about so..." Jungkook trails off.

"Your parents only brought you here to make nice with me and make it seem like you all are the picture perfect family that has everything together when truly you're just made to think this is what life is. A giant business." Yoongi says.

"Why are you so bitter?" Jungkook asks.

"Why are you so blind? Or are you just stupid?" Yoongi asks.

    "Fuck you." Jungkook says.

Taehyung looks at Jungkook and he doesn't even look mad.

Yoongi chuckles. "Don't be mad at me. It's the truth isn't? Your own parents raising you to be a workaholic."

    "Your parents workaholics?" Jungkook asks.

"Yeah. But I refuse to follow in their footsteps." Yoongi says.

"But you're here." Jungkook says. "Being a pawn."

"Their paying me. For business people. They are pretty dense." Yoongi says. "Which will make it easy for your parents to set them back a couple hundred thousand dollars."

Jungkook shrugs sitting back in his seat.

Yoongi looks at Taehyung. "What about you? You a pawn?"

"No. My dad's a janitor." Taehyung laughs dryly hoping to break the tension.

Jungkook laughs a little and Yoongi does crack a smile.

"Min Yoongi." Yoongi says holding out his hand to Jungkook.

Jungkook narrows his eyes for a second before taking his hand. "Jeon Jungkook."

Yoongi holds hand out to Taehyung who shakes it as well.

"Why are you such an asshole?" Jungkook asks being straight forward.

"I'm not an asshole. I'm just honest." Yoongi says.

"There's a difference between being honest and being mean." Jungkook says.

"You think I was being mean? I was trying to get you to see the bigger picture, kid."

"Kid? How are you." Jungkook asks.

    "18." Yoongi says. "And you?"

"17. Not a kid." Jungkook says.

"You look like one." Yoongi laughs.

    "Says the midget." Jungkook says.

Yoongi's smile drops. "And 'the midget' will also kick your ass."

"Are you in school Yoongi?" Taehyung asks.

"Graduating this year." Yoongi says. "And I'm going to school for music. Not business."

    "Music? That's cool." Taehyung says.

"You could start a music business with a business degree." Jungkook points out.

"I'm sorry but I actually want to raise my children so no thanks." Yoongi says.

Jungkook rolls his eyes. "How are you going to support your family with a music degree."

"I rather live averagely with them than lavishly without." Yoongi says. "You're not going to win this argument kid so just leave it alone."

"Stop calling me a kid." Jungkook says.

Taehyung clears his throat before speaking. "What kind of music do you like?"

"Any kind really. As long as it can truly express emotions. That's what music is meant to do." Yoongi says.

Jungkook rolls his eyes again and sighs.

"That's really cool." Taehyung nods. "Isn't it Jungkook?"

Taehyung looks at Jungkook trying to get him to have a decent conversation without arguing.

"Yeah. Music is a good way to connect with people emotionally, sure." Jungkook says still looking at Taehyung who is now focused on Yoongi.

"What do you plan to do when you graduate Taehyung?" Yoongi asks.

"I don't know." Taehyung shrugs. "I kinda suck at everything so I'm just hoping to get into college at the moment."

"You'll get in. What schools are you looking into?" Yoongi asks.

"A few schools in Seoul." Taehyung says.

"Ah. And you Jungkook?" Yoongi asks looking at him.

"I've already got a scholarship for a school in Busan so. I'm going there." Jungkook says but he doesn't seem to thrilled about already having a full ride to college.

    "Congrats. What school?" Taehyung says.

    "An MBA school." Jungkook says.

"Business school. I figured." Yoongi shrugs.

"And what school's are scouting you?" Jungkook asks.

"It's not scouting if you're parents basically own the business market." Yoongi says.

"I'm so tired of you." Jungkook says in frustration. "Just because I happen to like the business field doesn't mean I'll be a terrible person."

"That's just it Jeon. You don't like it. It's just all you know."

Yoongi's words cut Jungkook deep for some reason and he goes speechless.

Jungkook stands from the table. "I'll be back."

Jungkook walks away trying his best not to look like he's storming off even though he is.

"Yoongi." Taehyung sighs looking at him.

"I just don't want him to think this~" Yoongi gestures to his parents and Jungkook's parents. "Is his only option in life."

"You could be a bit nicer about it." Taehyung says.

"Just go get your boyfriend." Yoongi says.

Taehyung stands to walk away before stopping short and turning back towards Yoongi.

"He's not my boyfriend." He says before turning to leave for real this time.
