"Felix why didn't you speak to us before him? I still can't believe you did that," Seungmin scolded, shaking his head at the younger while Hyunjin followed the same gesture by his side. "How naive are you to think that someone would tell the direct truth when asked a question like that? Especially someone who obviously has a lot to hide?"
"Yeah, Felix," Hyunjin supported. Both he and Seungmin were prepared to tell their friend about their mini investigation if Chan had indeed denied being in communication with Changbin. "But what did he say though, when you told him that?"
Seungmin furrowed his brows as he too awaited Felix's answer, mentally connecting the dots as to why Changbin would be at the addict's apartment- maybe the part about having sex was a lie, since Changbin was clearly kicked out by whoever he visited. "Yeah, did he admit?"
Felix was pouting as he sat with legs crossed on the sofa, slightly regretting his decision to come clean to the couple. "Changbin is a liar," he spoke blankly, looking down. "Chan said that I have nothing to worry about, and that they haven't been communicating since the issue at the clinic." Felix spoke innocently, pursing his lips at the memory of his last hang out with the addict. "He said that he's all mine- like because he's actually getting help and all."
Seungmin and Hyunjin looked at each other, mouths agape before looking back at Felix, worrying the boy with their shared expression.
"Oh Felix, honey," Seungmin spoke up, standing to near the older on the single sofa. "Felix, how do I even say this?"
"What do you mean?" Felix looked up at the younger, already becoming nauseous from the tension. "You guys are acting weird. What happened?"
"Felix that Chan guy is a liar," Seungmin gently placed a hand on the boy's back, stroking the cloth tenderly. "And as much as I expected that, it's different finding out the truth. You need to pull away, Lix. He's lying to you."
"What do you mean?" Felix pouted, hoping that his friends were only messing with him. "Chan didn't lie to me... we're honest with each other."
"Lix, Hyunjin saw Changbin at Chan's apartment just last Saturday," Seungmin sighed, taking a seat against the armrest, still petting the blonde. "This proves that they're still communicating... so Chan lied, Felix."
"Wait, wait, wait," Felix lifted his arms, shifting to nudge the younger's off of his back. "I have so many fucking questions, and whether or not Chan lied is honestly not one of them right now." He glared at the two males, lifting his brows in confusion. "First of all, how the hell do you know where he lives when you don't even know who he is?"
Seungmin sighed, watching as Hyunjin chewed on his bottom lip with regret. "Calm down, Felix," he spoke, standing to head for the seat next to his boyfriend's. "We did our research, okay? We did our research and went to check things out for ourselves, only to see Changbin entering the building," he glanced at Hyunjin, indicating that the boy should take up the explaining since he was the one on the scene.
"Yeah, Lix," Hyunjin nodded, gazing softly at the mutual. "I-I saw him enter the building, and I know he doesn't live there. After a while he came out of this apartment yelling."
"Why was he yelling, and whose apartment was it? How are you guys so sure it's not someone else's? How did you even know where Chan lives?" Felix bombarded the two with questions, demanding reasonable answers as he shot dismayed glares towards them. "And why the fuck didn't you tell me if it happened since Saturday?"
"Well," Hyunjin looked down, unsure of how to answer the younger as he himself wasn't certain that it was Chan's apartment Changbin had gone into. "Well I guess- we aren't completely sure that it was Chan's apartment. But-"
"Exactly. You're not sure. So why are you guys so fucking fast to frame him as a liar, hm? Look, Chan has been through a lot," Felix sighed, clenching his fists to control the rage towards his dear friends. "I'm helping him, and he's improving. Changbin on the other hand is simply jealous and is trying his best to do what he usually did- make me miserable. But I won't let that happen, and you two should be sure of what you're saying before saying it."
The other males looked at each other before staring down, both understanding of Felix's anger and a bit disappointed in their own ignorant decisions. "You're right," Seungmin muttered, nodding at the older. "You're right and we're sorry. We'll be more careful and pay closer attention-"
"Seungmin are you being serious right now? Nobody is paying fucking attention to anything," Felix arched a brow as he spoke, disappointed at the fact that Seungmin still planned on keeping tabs on the addict. "You guys are basically stalking Chan, and it's not only disrespectful to him, but to me. I haven't even showed you guys who he is yet, yet you know his address before me? That's a bit messed up," he pouted, shaking his head at the two. "Just leave him alone, please. I will keep you updated on how things are going between us, so don't pry into his personal life."
Both boys nodded, thinning a smile at their friend. Felix was right and had a completely justifiable reaction so they didn't think much of it. But maybe if Hyunjin had paid attention to the apartment number on the picture of Chan's file, he'd have solid proof that Changbin did indeed go into the addict's apartment.
Maybe if Felix had went into detail and told the couple about Chan's attempt to kiss him, they'd feel more obligated to dig deeper despite his warnings- or maybe if he had told them how he was genuinely falling for the addict and was almost convinced that the older was doing the same for him, they'd convert his mind right then and there.
"No problem," Hyunjin mumbled. "We're sorry for you know, crossing the line."
"Yeah, sorry," Seungmin added, both boys sighing as Felix shook his head. "We'll not go back to his place, okay? We'll leave you guys be."
"Thank you," Felix murmured, feeling a bit bad seeing his friends so down and submissive. "But don't be so sad, guys. I'm sorry for getting so upset too. Let's do something to clear our heads."
The couple nodded, both suggesting that the three should cuddle while watching a movie, and that's what they did. Well, that's what they did after Seungmin shot his boyfriend an assertive look when Felix's back was turned as he set up the movie.
Hyunjin nodded under his boyfriend's signal- there was no way they'd not return to Chan's apartment to solidify their evidence whether Felix was upset or not.

7:32am
Chan was at a new level of discomfort as he let the superior in, almost gagging as the older took a seat at the table. "It's about to be a long day," he mumbled low enough to be unheard by the other. "Mr.Wang," he spoke, sighing. "Since when do you come in so early?"
"I just want to make the best out of my payment today," Jackson teased, smirking as Chan sat to the opposite side of the table. "Besides, since when do even question my timing? Is there something Christopher is hiding?"
"No sir," Chan spoke unamused, looking at the landlord with no emotion. Only the weak but persistent thoughts of finding a real job floated through Chan's mind, and it was honestly a new way of thinking for the addict. He had never fancied the idea of having a job, but the disgust for his landlord had grown even more since the last time they had their meeting.
Maybe it was because he was slowly growing closer with Felix... something about that boy. It was definitely Felix, but Chan couldn't yet grasp the reasoning behind the impact the secretary had on him. "But since you're so early, is it that you have something special planned... or something?"
"Actually," Jackson leaned forward, elbows propped against the wood. "I wanted to discuss something important, and I didn't want too much time to be wasted I came early."
"Is there something wrong?" Chan furrowed his brows, confused from the superior's serious gesture. "I hope all is well-"
"I'm getting married," Jackson stated effortlessly, locking gazes with a now shocked Chan. "I'm getting married, so even though I so much as love that cute little ass of yours, I'm no longer comfortable with this affair."
"S-sir?" Chan's mouth went dry. As much as he was uncomfortable with the dealings himself, he knew that it was the only way to keep a roof over his head. "So, what are you saying, sir?"
"What I'm saying is that you need to work up a different and maybe more civilized form of payment," Jackson spoke harshly, shaking his head at the addict. "Now I'll give you this month off just because of the late notice, but I expect regular payments by next month."
Chan pouted, eyes filling with tears as he observed the landlord's cold expression. "Y-yes sir," he stuttered, knowing that there was nothing he could say to change the older's mind. "I understand, and thank you, I guess."
"Good," Jackson thinned a smile, already making way to leave the addict alone with his thoughts. "So this is all I wanted to say. I hope that you have a good rest of the day."
Chan nodded shakily, not even looking in the direction of the landlord as he left the apartment. A tear ran down the boy's face as the harsh reality of his consequences was hitting so slowly but mercilessly.
"Shit," he muttered, trapping his hair in his palms as he leaned against the table. "Who in Seoul would even want to hire me?"
