BACKSTORY » queen ariana wasn't always so quiet or so easily frightened. once upon a time, around nineteen years ago, the queen was a fiercely outspoken individual who was as involved in the monarchy as her husband and would not have it any other way.

she and the king had just left the castle for a nice, romantic evening away from home, her then only child sleeping the night away with a nanny, when a dog ran out into the road and spooked the horses. the carriage toppled, and the queen was thrown from the vehicle, her side speared through by a branch. she was rushed to the infirmary and presented with terrible news: she would never again bear children—and she had been with child when the crash occurred. the child was killed.

she adopted the twins two years afterwards to replace the children she could never have, and was content for many years. around five years ago she decided to adopt another child, and has been trying to convince the king to adopt more ever since.
