I walk on the cold concrete through this freezing snow-storm. Even if it was day-time I wouldn't feel burn, I can't feel if I'm hot or cold unless the sun can actually do something about it. I hope I can find shelter before the aggressive weather disappears. I can barely see a thing through the raging blizzard and if someone saw me they wouldn't question my extremely pale skin. I've finished off my last killing which has sated my cannibalistic thirst and hunger and I won't need another for awhile. I try to look further into the distance but to no avail it's hard to make out, I walk further and see a slouching figure in the distance. I go further to it and as I'm close enough I see it's an old man! I gasp and think 'Why would someone so weak and old be out here where there's no houses for miles or even people besides me and him?!' I try to say hello but the blizzard is too loud for him to hear me, I can't even hear myself, so I scream it which is like normal volume in this intense type of storm. He doesn't respond but looks at me with a smile as if this is normal. I'm glad I don't feel the cold but it seems the cold unfazes the elderly man! "I-I've lost my way to my daughter's house in the weather, please can you help me?" He asks me calmly as if this is an everyday situation. "I-I-uhh... Ok..." I respond in confusion. "Have you seen a town anywhere, that must be where it is?" He asks, equally as calm. "Yes." I answer with fear in my voice. The reason I'm here is because of the place I've escaped which is that town. I'm amazed he hasn't frozen to death, let alone walk or talk. "Can you take me there?" He asks. "I uhh..." I mumble under my breath which he can not hear. "Actually, I've got a house near here from the town I visit to see my daughter." He tells me. "Okay then, let's head there!" I say, suprised and happy yet, confused as this makes no sense to me. He leads me through the snow-storm slowly as he is at an age where it slows him down. We walk further for what seems like hours but we eventually get there. As we arrive I see a brown, wooden house. The pieces of wood are frozen but covered by the snow thanks to the blizzard. He opens the door and allows me in. I'm still confused at how he's completely undamaged from the snow-storm. I enter to see a dark room lit by candles but why are they still lit when he was out there looking for his daughter? Maybe it's just because he's old, but then again the weather has been like this for days so how long was he out there? How long has these been lit? How's he still alive and well as if he's young? He even walks around well. My mind is filled with so many questions of this insane logic. "How long have the candles been lit?" I ask. "Hours." He answers. "And how long have you been out in the cold?" I ask, even more curious. "Also hours." He answers. "Oh... Okay then- wait a moment, how are you not shivering?" I say, asking another question. He ignores me and walks in the other room while saying "Go to sleep, I have a bed in this room, follow me." I follow him and am greeted to a room with candles but less of the number than the previous room I was in along with a bed, wardrobe and end tables by the bed. "You need your rest, the storm will go go on for awhile and this'll pass the time. Who knows, it might stop once you wake up " He says with a smile. "I do as he says since he's being so kind and lay on the comfy bed but as I do I still feel confused because how did he survive out there? I'm a vampire so I never get tired but sometimes I wish I could, it was so peaceful to be unconcious but perhaps a vampire could get knocked out but I'm not gonna try to do that to myself and I wonder what'll happen to me if it even comes to that, I'm so desperate I want that to happen and it may happen. I just lay there in silence. I think about how I became a vampire and how I escaped that dreadful place. If I didn't get out of there sooner I would've been buried for eternity, staked, burnt or something else that could possibly be even worse. I just close my eyes so I can at least hope to get sleep but nothing works. Well, at least I can relax, it's the closest thing to sleep I can get. Hours pass and it's like I have been sleeping, then I hear the man walk into the room and I close my eyes, pretending I asleep. I squint my eyes a little to see he opens his mouth and sits on top of me. He leans down and I see fangs! I retaliate by trying to push him off but I cant, he's somehow to strong. He bites my neck and I shake my head, bumping his and after a few seconds he finally pushes his head away. I open my teeth and bite his arm and latch on as he punches my head till I pull away, ripping of his flesh which doesn't taste bad but has no blood. He screams and holds his arm in pain and I take this opportunity to push him off of me onto the floor. I pounce on him and bite him repeatedly until he stops moving. I'm at shock at what has just happened, who was that? We're they a vampire too? They had those fangs and that would explain the other questions. I think he was lying about having a daughter and maybe he just left which explains why the candles are lit and how he endured the cold. Everything finally adds up unless there's something I'm missing. Of course! He was an Abchanchu! (Go to the bottom of the chapter, I explain what Abchanchus are) His old figure becomes younger, his wrinkles disappear, his white hair goes brown and his body has more muscle to it. I'm still shocked and suprised to what had just happened. I sit down on the bed, thinking about the fact I almost died. I sit there for about twenty minutes and decide to get up. I go over to the window to check if the storm has gotten worse or calmed down, if it gets worse I can't see well but it'll stopme from burning, if it gets calmer I might actually get burned so I think I'd rather the raging storm instead, even though my vision in weather like that really pisses me off. I go to the window to see it's gotten even harsher, perhaps for the best anyway. I look over to the corpse which is covered in bites and is positioned like a ragdoll. I gaze at it for a couple minutes and then decide to look around this house. I search the other rooms besides one and what I find in the other rooms are of no use to me. I go to the roomI haven't checked to find a coffin, I'mnit suprised at the sight since I already know he's a vampire. I mentally lied earlier because a coffins is the only ways vampires can sleep. (I think that's where they sleep. I think they can sleep on altars but I'll check up on that if I put an altar in this fanfic) I open the coffin so I can have a rest but I find a sword in it which suprises me in a good way. "Finally, I need something like this!" I say enthusiastically to myself.
Abchanchu: Abchanchu is a legendary Bolivian vampire who shape-shifts into the form of a helpless, elderly traveler. When a passerby offers to help him, Abchanchu victimizes them and drinks their blood.
