Maou breathed heavily as soon as I landed behind the medical center building.

"damn you fly so fast" he breathed

I rolled my eyes "come on. Let's get inside" I said before ran to the lobby of the medical center

"excuse me. My name is Alice and I'm looking for my dad here. His name is Dave Gerrone" I said quickly to a nurse that's passing by

"oh, miss Alice! We've been waiting for you. Mister Dave has gained his consciousness and wants to meet you. Right this way" the nurse said before she leads me through the corridor

"is he okay?" I asked

" we already stitched his open wounds and do the best we can but he has lost a lot of blood..." the nurse said making my face go pale

"this is his room. Just call for a doctor or a nurse if anything happens" she said as we stop in front of a room

"I will. Thank you" I said

I stare at the number 365 that's attached on the door. My heart felt heavy as if it wants to sink down onto my feet. I cover my face with my hands and sigh deeply. How did everything goes from normal to... This?

I then feel a gentle tap on my shoulder. I lowered my hands to see maou standing in front of me with a sad face on and his hand on my shoulder.

"it will be fine. Don't worry" he said before he hugs me deeply

"he will be fine" he continued

"I hope so" I sighed

Maou finally lets go of me and smiled at me reassuringly. I smiled back at him before we enter the room. I sweae, if Maou isn't there to calm me down, I would've faint right away.

My dad is sleeping on the bed with stitches covering his hands, his legs, his neck, and one on his forehead. Bandages wrapped around his right arm. His heartbeat is pretty weak judging from the heart beat monitor near his bed. An oxygen mask is attached to his face to help him breathe.

I quickly make my way towards him and sit on a chair near his bed. "I'll leave you two alone. I need to contact ashiya about this" Maou said before he exits the room

The room fell into silence. Well, not a complete silence. The heart beat monitor is echoing through the room. I almost fell asleep when I feel the bed moves a bit. I look up to see my dad waking up.

"alice?" he called with a raspy voice

"what is it? Do you need water? Does the stitches hurt? Do you need any medicine? Or food? Are you hungry?" I asked frantically

"No.... Alice... Listen...calm down sweetheart..." my dad weakly said

"how did this happen?" I asked, fighting back tears

"well...."

MAOU'S POV

"WHAT DO YOU WANT IDIOT!?" emi's voice came out from my phone, nearly piercing my ear.

"sheesh, turn the volume down, would you? Are you planning to make me deaf or something?" I grunted. I'm currently near alice's dad's room, calling the red haired killing machine since neither ashiya nor urushihara has any phone.

"no, I'm planning to kill you"

I rolled my eyes "look, I need your help. I know you're currently near my neighborhood, spying on urushihara and ashiya-"

"I AM NOT BEHIND A LAMPPOST NEAR YOUR HOUSE" she cuts off

"I never mentioned any lamppost" I snickered

"dammit. What do you want, demon?" she growled

"Can you tell ashiya and urushihara that I might not get back anytime soon?" I asked

"what? Why should I do that?" emi asked sarcastically

"could you just help me out this one time??"

" this one time?" she askef

"okay, let me re-phrase that. Could you just help me out, please?" I said, rolling my eyes. I thought helping others are a hero thing.

" again, why should I do that? I have better things to do. I am not your babysitter nor your mother, demon. I don't want to get into your household business and I-"

" EMI!! ALICE'S DAD GOT INTO THE HOSPITAL" I blurted out in frustation

"WHAT!!!!??? HOW!? HOW IS HE?? HOW IS ALICE!? WHERE ARE THEY!?"Emi shouted, almost piercing my ear again

" Tokyo Yamate Medical Center. He's not in a really good condition. Neither is Alice. She's having a hard time right now which is why I need to be here with her "I sighed

" how did this happen?? "Emi asked

" did you watch the breaking news earlier today? About the car crash at Shinjuku? "I asked

" yeah I-... Oh... Oh my God.... "

" so could you please help me out now? "I asked with my fingers crossed

"..... Fine. But only because I care about Alice and her father" Emi sighed

I sighed in relief. "thanks" I breathed

"one last thing, what room is he in?" Emi asked

"I think it's room 365"I said, trying to remember the room number

" alright. Take care of her, demon king. If anything happens, I will kill you " Emi stated with a murderous tone

" I wi-"

" MAOU!!! "A voice echoed from throughout the empty corridor. It sounded like... ALICE

" SORRY EMI GOTTA GO" I shouted before I hung up the phone

I quickly ran towards room 365 and saw Alice is shaking her dad while tears are rolling down her cheek like waterfall.

"CALL THE NURSE!!" she shouted

I ran outside and shout for the nurse and doctor. Fortunately, five nurse and a doctor came quickly and went inside the room. Alice was told to wait outside but she refused to leave. She almost kick away a nurse that was about to touch her.

I ran towards her and hug her from behind before I drag her out of the room. She kept on yelling at me saying that she doesn't want to leave and that she needs to be with him but I can't let her go. I hate it to have to watch her in such pain.

Two minutes later, the doctor went out of the room with a gloomy face.

"well???" Alice asked

"I'm sorry"
