1- Luci
The smell of sweat and grass mixed with crappy perfume spread around me as I sprinted as fast as possible to the other side of the field. I held the football as close to my chest as possible. I tried my best to block out the shouting of the other girls behind me as I ran and dived onto the try line. Smack. Right in the chest. Ouch. But the pain was nothing compared to the victory I scored for our team. I walked back to my team, not receiving any thanks, but I didn't care. I was the one who got us a try in this small game of touch footy, I was the winner of this round. Sir blew the whistle I as reached the team and we started to walk off. I walked alone to the locker rooms and started to change from my sport gear to my school uniform. Some other girls walked in and took one look at me before going to the opposite sides of the room. I rolled my eyes before turning back to my clothing. I was just putting my arms through my shirt when I heard a dying cat scream.
I quickly turned and saw the girls singing. Ohh, now it makes sense. Stupid, catty girls singing is a very easy way to annoy me. You see, I have this thing that when I get annoyed a switch is flicked in the back of my head that makes me go slightly psychotic. Most people know to not make that switch go from 'casually angry' to 'I'm going to decapitate you after causing your hearing to weaken by screaming at you.' It's kind of an issue by now but I'm working on handling my anger. It's not really doing anything but it's worth a shot.
The girls kept singing pitchy and loud to- oh for godsake- high school musical. Let's get this straight, I love me some high school musical, I really do, but these girls are ruining my childhood and my first ever ship. My hands were struggling to contain the anger that is bubbling up inside me, wanting to be released in a punch or a lethal slap. I finally had enough but I couldn't be suspended so I did the next best thing.
I picked up my shoe, through it at the wall the girls are standing at as hard as I could and screamed,"SHUT UP!"
It worked for about 30 seconds before it started up again. I tried the deep breath and fist clench remedies but i feel like hell. I tried not to freak while doing up my shoe laces and getting ready to leave but the anger was so annoyingly big and wasn't going any where.
I went to tie up my other shoelace when I saw a deep crimson melt over my hand, go up my arm and shoulder. I cautiously put my normal hand onto my red arm and had to fight not to scream. It was burning hot like when you think the stove has cooled but you are very mistaken. I quickly put my stuff in my bag and ran out of the change rooms. I ran as fast as I could to the bathrooms and locked myself in a cubicle. I looked at my arms and frowned. They had turned back the normal light tan. I started unlocking the door when I heard footsteps. My fingers flicked the latch back and my back pushed up against the wall. I held my breath and hoped whoever it was would do their business and leave.
"You know that Luci girl? The one who is always pissed?"
"Yeah what about her?" The second voice was not familiar but the first was. It was one of the girls from the change room.
"She got angry at me and the other girls in the change rooms again. I guess we did kinda annoy her but she went full on crazy and then ran from the room, she looked stressed."
"She's always been like that, it's just her personality," the other girl replied,"I would hate to be her, wouldn't you?"
I didn't hear what the first girls response was, all I could focus on was those words: 'I would hate to be her, wouldn't you?'
As soon as I was sure that they had left I grabbed my bag and sprinted from the cubicle, catching my reflection in the smudged and graffitied mirror. I had a pair of worn black school shoes on, previously shiny but they were now broken and dirty from running and not bothering to clean them. My worn navy checkered skirt reached just above my knees and my blue collared shirt was clean but boring, the usual school look. My dark blond hair was in a single braid with wisps of frizzy strands framing my face which was covered in small zits and a light covering of freckles. I didn't mind my look, I just knew that I wasn't that pretty. It was my personality I loathed, just like that girl.
I exited the bathroom and walked to my locker. A few seniors were standing next to my locker but after seeing me come over they walked away. I rolled my eyes and unlocked my locker before throwing my books in and locking it back up. The bell for lunch rang as I started walking to the library, or as I see it, my haven. I went straight to the far bookshelf where no one sits and plonked myself down. I pulled out my current book 'remarkable' and started reading.
...Jane could not quit smiling to herself as she hurried up the trail- "psst"
I looked up from my book, startled at the random noise.
"Over here" a voice whispered.
I looked towards a gap between the bookshelf and saw a pair of shiny blue eyes.
"Um hi" I frowned. Who is this guy and why the hell is he talking to me?
"You need to come with me, now"
I looked back at my book, chuckling to myself. "Sorry but no"
"Please, just hear me out." he pleaded.
Not looking up from my book I replied, "I'm good."
I heard him huff, "I see, Miss fuck-off-cause-I-said-so, but when I see you again, you'll understand."
I smirked and looked up to retort but gasped when I saw the bookshelf was empty. The bell answered my prayers and gave me permission to get the hell out of there.
Once classes finished for the day I walked out of the school and waited for my bus in the far corner of bus bay. Once the bus had arrived I jumped on and took a seat. The blue eyes flashed through my mind and sent shivers down my spine. What was that guy doing talking to me and who is he? What does he want? You know what, who cares. Asshole,I thought. The bus stopped at my street and I hopped off and started walking. It was still summer but autumn, my favourite season, was just around the corner and I was so excited. The way the leaves changed to that gorgeous collection of yellows, oranges, reds and browns made me feel like Christmas was coming, only ten times better. I reached my red brick house and after unlocking the door I waltzed inside. My mum wouldn't be home for a few hours yet. I quickly changed into a hoodie and leggings and pulled out my assignments and homework. After a crap day like this a good distraction was welcome. I worked till my mum arrived home but didn't leave my room. I ended up going to bed without dinner from being so exhausted after doing nearly 5 hours of non stop work. Sleep welcomed me, but only provided nightmares of crimson skin and blue eyes.
