[modern AU, college AU]

Being roommates with Temari isn't bad, no on the contrary, it's great. It's great, Temari's great. She's clean and neat and they split the chores evenly and in all honesty Sakura couldn't have asked for a better roommate. But yeah Temari's great, the only thing not great about Temari is Temari's boyfriend.

Now don't get her wrong. Sakura likes Shikamaru. Shikamaru's smart and he's quiet and doesn't bother her, but when Shikamaru is there, Sasuke's there. Because more than 98 percent of the time Shikamaru and Sasuke are paired up for their projects and because the classes that Temari's taking help Shikamaru and Sasuke come up with answers a billion times better with information from Temari, and because of that when the two of them are always at Sakura and Temari's apartment during assigned partener projects. 

And that is her problem.

That that right there.

That that being Sasuke.

Sasuke's great. He's smart and nice and plays with her and Temari's little kitten—actually at this point the cat likes Sasuke more than them--but that's besides the point! So yeah, Sasuke is great, but the problem is that Sasuke makes her heart do things. Weird things. Things that shouldn't be happening right now, she's becoming a surgeon for crying out loud! She can't afford to be distracted right now! And the semester is about to come to a close in a few weeks!

And ugh. This is not good.

Who the hell gave Sasuke permission to be so hot!

It's not fair! It's really not fair.

What did Sakura do to deserve this?

She's been such a good girl so far in life. She listened to her parents--with minimal arguments--she never hurt any animals, she did all her work on time and gets along with people--oh god please exempt Naruto from this, she'll admit that she has treated Naruto a bit badly.

Wait.

Maybe that's it.

Oh man, oh man, what if this is all happening because she doesn't get along with Naruto too well.

It's all torture.

It's pure torture.

She needs to come up with a plan. Something that involves moving. Maybe she could transfer to the states? Yeah that might be a good idea. And then she'll never have to see stupid Uchiha Sasuke again with his stupid pretty face and that stupid cute smile he makes when he plays with Kit-Kat—the cat—and she'll never have to worry about a thing until she's done with schooling!

Yeah, that's a good plan.

It's a very very good plan, with only real downside; Sakura's broke.

She's a broke college student on her way to becoming a top-class surgeon, there's no way she can scrape enough money to just get to the states let alone college there. And then there's the question of where she'll stay and learning English and actually applying and transferring to the college itself. Oh and getting in to said college.

Maybe, she'll just ask him out.

Yeah, no. She can't do that.

She should just transfer.
