🌸Ice Cream🌸

[fluff]

"Sasuke." Sakura poked Sasuke's cheek. "Sasukeeeeee." She whispered, shaking his shoulders. "Hey, Sasuke." She tapped his cheek lightly.

He rolled over in his sleep. "Hn?"

She sat up in the bed. "I really want some ice cream right now. But what flavor? I mean, I like cookie dough and all, but it gets nasty after the second tub. I guess vanilla is good too, but it's kinda flavorless. And chocolate ice cream tastes like frozen coffee, so no. It's weird though, I don't taste the coffee flavor when it's Neapolitan ice cream." She turned to Sasuke. "What do you think?"

Sasuke sighed at his five month pregnant wife. "Sakura, do you know what time it is?"

She continued talking as if she hadn't heard him. "I know right? It's so weird!" She laughed, and Sasuke couldn't help but smile along with her, despite the sleepiness pulling at him. "But maybe I'll just get cookies and cream. But no, that's what I always get when I can't choose. Maybe I'll just stick with my usual mint ice cream. Or-"

Sasuke cut her off. "Sakura, it is 3 AM. Can we please talk about this in the morning? I'll buy you all the ice cream you want then." He was so tired. Sakura's cravings were odd. She went from obsessing over pickles to threatening to divorce Sasuke if he didn't buy her some broccoli. But her by far worst one was the tomato craze. He shuddered, the memories haunting him for life.

Sakura stood up and left the room abruptly. After much debate, Sasuke left the warm comfort of their bed and went after her. He sighed as the sleepiness faded from him once he stepped onto the cold tile floor of the hallway.

He found her sitting cross legged in front of the freezer, shoveling the last bits of strawberry ice cream into her mouth.

She brightened when she saw him. "Hey, we're out of strawberry," she mumbled through her full mouth. With her cheeks bulging with ice cream, she looked adorable to Sasuke, and he unknowingly cracked a smile. "Could you be a dear and get some more?" She asked innocently.

The smile melted off his face as he realized the only store that was open at this time was a mile away. He didn't think he could drive that far without falling asleep.

"Can I get it tomorrow?" He asked hopefully. "Look, there's some chocolate ice cream in the fridge." He pulled out a tub of ice cream and offered it to her.

She shook her head. "I want strawberry."

He pouted. "But I don't wanna get strawberry ice cream."

She stopped smiling and looked down at the floor. She stood up slowly, leaving the empty ice cream jar, and went back to their room with her head down.

Sasuke followed her, confused. What's wrong with her? He thought as they walked back to the room.

"Umm, Sakura?" He tentatively approached the woman standing in front of their bed. "Are you alright?"

She fell onto the bed dramatically and sighed tearfully. "I'm...sorry. I didn't mean to be so annoying." She said, a hand over her face as she put on a distraught expression. She hid a smile behind her hand, unable to keep a straight face at her bad acting.

Sasuke stiffened at the word and ran for his jacket. "I'll get your ice cream right away!" He dashed out of the room and Sakura could hear the distant slam of their front door a few seconds later.

She sat up, a grin on her face. "Now I can get ice cream!" She skipped into the kitchen, humming a tune as she made herself a sandwich and ate it while waiting.

Sakura shut off the tv as she heard the front door opening. Sasuke came running inside, the frigid winter air blowing into the house before he slammed the door shut. He rushed to the living room and dropped four bags of ice cream on the coffee table in front of Sakura. She sat up from her position on the couch, mouth watering at the sight of all the flavors of ice creams.

"I didn't know which flavor you wanted, so I bought one of each kind." He sat next to her on the couch.

She picked up a jar and opened it. "Thanks, Sasuke."

Sasuke smiled tiredly. "Anything for you Sakura."

She smirked. "Then can I get some tomatoes?"

He paled and scooted away from her slightly. She grinned at his antics and nudged him with her elbow. "Just kidding!" He wilted with relief.

Sasuke reached for the strawberry ice cream, but a pink blur snatched it before he could touch it. He looked over to see Sakura at the other end of the couch, her legs in his lap.

"This one is mine." She held up the ice cream teasingly.

He pouted childishly. "You're so mean, Sakura."

She nodded proudly. "You know it."

He reached for the remote, turned it on to any random show, and they sat there, watching tv while eating ice cream, until the sun rose.
