🌸Halloween🌸
(A.N : Hey, like most of my stuff, this is gonna take place modern day. Some elements from Naruto'll be the same, like medics and ninjas and stuff, but it's just gonna be more modernized I guess. Enjoy!)
"I can't believe I let you talk me into this..."
Sasuke scratched at the fake vampire bite on his neck, a slightly uncomfortable expression on his face. Normally, he'd decline taking part in any Halloween festivities. He didn't really see the point in pointless terror. However, Sakura promised that if he'd check out the haunted house with her, she'd pay for dinner afterward. He wasn't very happy about it, but he knew as well as anyone else that it was pretty difficult to say no to Sakura when she had her heart set on something; especially since she had already bought a Halloween costume for him.
There wasn't really much of a choice.
Sakura swatted Sasuke's hand away from his neck, pouting a little. She straightened the collar of her dress, making sure her fake vampire bite wasn't peeling off. She had discreetly asked a while ago what Sasuke's favorite Halloween-themed monsters would be, (which ended up being vampires,) and then immediately searched up costumes online. After that, she just needed to arrange something they could do and get Sasuke to agree.
"Oh, come on, Sasuke. Trust me, this'll be fun." Sakura grabbed them fake vampire teeth she had bought separately, sticking them over her canines. "It won't even be just us; I asked Naruto and Ino to come along with Sai and Hinata. It doesn't have to be awkward!"
Sasuke shrugged a little, sticking his own vampire teeth into his mouth. In all honesty, he would've been alright with it just being them; it wasn't like Sakura was super clingy anymore, and they usually gave each other their space. It had been a while since they had done anything together, and Sasuke would be lying if he said he didn't notice.
They finally finished getting ready and got in the car. Sasuke got in the driver's seat, typing the location Sakura told him about into the gps on his phone. Sakura got in the car, buckling her seatbelt, and they got on the road.
Sasuke would probably never admit this to anyone, but he always liked long car rides. Ever since he was a little kid, he'd look forward to road trips he'd pretend to hate, 3 hour long voyages out of town to visit relatives, and anything in between. Even if nothing was said at all in the time period that it took to get from Point A to Point B, he still enjoyed it, especially when he started driving. Having Sakura in the passenger seat next to him was a bonus as well. She'd always point out different things along the way; a bent sign, an oddly curved tree, anything she thought looked interesting. Sasuke always liked hearing about what she'd see that he'd barely even notice; Sakura payed a lot more attention to things like that.
When they arrived, they spotted the others by the enterance of this farm-like area, a sign near it marked "Sleepy Hollow". The four of them had dressed up as well. Naruto and Hinata decided to go as Frankenstein's Monster and the Bride of Frankenstein's Monster, while Ino and Sai had decided to be zombies. Ino sported Sakura and immediately ran over to greet her friend, a giant smile on her face. Sakura immediately got out of the car, stretching a little before Ino pulled her into a hug, practically squeezing the life out of her.
Naruto walked over to Sasuke as he was getting out of his car, Hinata in tow. He grinned at his friend, crossing his arms. "Look who finally left the house!" He laughed a little, as Sasuke smirked in response.
"I could say the same for you, Ramen-For-Brains." He chuckled a bit as Naruto grumbled about kicking his ass. He nodded in acknowledgement towards Hinata, who waved a little. It had been a while since he'd seen these guys, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't miss them.
The group went up to the front desk to pay for tickets. They had decided that they'd only do the haunted house there, seeing as it was the least crowded at the time. They got in line, waiting for their turn.
When they got to the front of the line, two people stood there to get their tickets. One was an older man, with messy white hair down to his back. The other was a slightly younger blonde woman, with the same purple diamond on her forehead as Sakura. They were both wearing some more Old-Timey clothing, probably themed from the late 1800's. Despite this, Sakura and Naruto immediately recognized the two.
"Ms. Tsunade?" Sakura's eyes widened a bit in surprise.
"Jiraya?" Naruto raises an eyebrow in confusion, a slight chuckle escaping him.
The duo laughed a bit in response. "Hello, Sakura," Tsunade crossed her arms, grinning at her former student, "It's good to see you again."
Naruto tilted his head in curiosity, a slight smile on his face. "Didn't you two plan to go on vacation together sometime this month?" He looked over at Jiraya, one eyebrow raised. "I remember you told me about that a while ago."
Jiraya scratched the back of his head sheepishly, looking sideways. "Well, I didn't get the tickets in time, so we decided we'd go for it next month." He laughed a little, a small smile on his face. "Anyway, it looks like the last guys are out, so you can head inside. Good luck."
Tsunade smirked a little, the atmosphere growing colder. "You'll need it," she followed up. She opened the gate to the house, stepping aside as the six walked in.
As they made their way through the house, Sasuke peered around at all the smaller details of the house. A painting of a woman with a knife stabbed through where her heart would be, fake blood trickling down the wall, a hall with mirrors that weren't actually mirrors, with a Clown at the end of the hall to scare you, among many other things. These guys really went all out, huh? Sasuke was pretty impressed that they'd spent so much Time on this. He looked down at Sakura, who had been hugging his arm throughout most of the haunted house. She looked on edge, which was normal for these type of things, since Horror does trigger Fight or Flight reflexes in people. Despite him knowing this was normal, however, he pulled her a bit closer to him, almost in a protective manner.
They neared the end, and as they were exiting the house, the group could hear heavy footsteps coming towards them. They thought that maybe it was just one of the people walking heavily, since the floorboards of the house might've not had anything beneath them. Then, they heard a loud roar from behind them, which was obviously fake when they looked back on it, but at the moment, the entire group had been a bit shaken, so it didn't quite register. Sasuke actually tripped a bit in surprise, but he got back on his feet and bolted out of the house, still holding onto Sakura, who had also tripped. They ran faster than the others, since Ino was the type to freeze when she got startled and Hinata, well, she's Hinata, and the guys weren't about to leave their girlfriends for dead. So they were a bit held up.
Sakura and Sasuke made it out, to the concession stand by the exit that was selling hot cider and donuts. Sakura leaned on the wall, laughing a bit at how funny that was, looking back on it, as Sasuke caught his breath.
"See? Wasn't that fun?" Sakura smiled over at Sasuke, still laughing a little, "I told you that you'd like it!"
Sasuke couldn't deny this, in all honesty. He hadn't really spent past Halloweens actually doing things related to the holiday, so this had been a nice change of pace. He nodded a little in response to Sakura, ruffling his hair a little.
"Yeah, you're right," he started, smiling a little, "I did have fun." He gestured over to the concession stand, warmth radiating from the little booth. "Did you wanna grab something here instead of going out?" He raised an eyebrow, smiling a little. "Might be easier than finding a restaurant still open this late."
Sakura couldn't deny that it'd probably be difficult finding somewhere still open, and she hadn't had REAL cider in almost a year, so it sounded like a perfect deal. She went into her purse to grab her wallet, but Sasuke was already ordering, paying before she got the chance to. Sasuke walked back over with two coffee cups of cider and two donuts, handing Sakura her food. She would've argued that she could've paid for it, but Sasuke had a look on his face that said "I've got it", so she didn't bring it up.
"Do you wanna head home?" Sakura asked, stretching a little, "It's getting chilly; I don't want either of us to catch a cold."
Sasuke nodded, checking his phone. Naruto had texted him that he'd talk to him later, since Hinata had fainted and he needed to get her home, and Sai and Ino had rolled out, not even stopping to grab food. This made it easier, since they no longer had to wait for anyone. They walked back to the car, chatting and laughing about the things in the house, got in the car, finished their food, and drove home.
