🌸Cold🌸

[fluff]

There she was, snuggled up under a blanket on their couch as she enjoyed a steaming cup of hot chocolate whilst her husband picked out a show to watch on Netflix.

Their slightly wet bodies leaned against each other, droplets of water occasionally releasing themselves from the hair they were caught in, causing the pair to maybe even shiver at the touch.

He of course was as cold as she was, but refused to admit that the blaring heat of the electric fire was not enough to keep him warm. Maybe he should go make himself a hot drink too.

Sakura on the other hand, was not afraid to admit to her weakness. Although she was quite literally, swamped in her clothing (which did not belong to her, but in fact Sasuke, as he was the sensible one and packed clothes suited for all weathers, even though it was the middle of summer) she still found herself freezing. A long T-shirt that reached her knees bundled her up, as well as a grey Adidas hoodie, and a light grey pair of sweatpants that she has snatched out of Sasuke's side of the closet.

Even after two years of marriage, Sasuke still finds Sakura wearing his clothes a little too hot to handle. Scrap that, way too hot to handle. He tries to avert his gaze away from her but her cuddles are just too irresistible to not respond to, causing a quick rush of blood to rise to his cheeks and spread across the middle of his face.

"You're cold," she says, reaching up to brush the back of her hand against his red cheeks, making them do nothing but go redder.

"Yeah, very," he lies.

Although he's sure Sakura wouldn't mind knowing the truth, he sees exposing himself like that as a massive defeat, and thinks that he should just keep quiet about it until it comes into conversation. Surely there'll be a point in their lives when Sakura figures it out for herself, and he'd just personally prefer things to fall that way.

After finally deciding on a show to watch, he allows himself to relax into the shape of the couch, instead of leaning forward and looking as if he was ready to eject himself from his seat at any second. His head rests on Sakura's as he pulls her even closer to him, attempting to huddle like penguins, partly because he knows that both himself and Sakura enjoy such close physical contact when they are alone together, and partly because he was cold and miserable and just wanted someone to cuddle.

Mainly the latter.

He does not care about the fact that Sakura's hair has made his chest soaking wet and cold. The thought does not even cross his mind as he has busied himself with his wife, and that is all that matters to him.

He comforts her as she squirms and wriggles slightly when the scenes in Peaky Blinders are a little too much to handle- holding her close, stroking the back of her hand with his thumb and leaving a trail of kisses on her soft jawline, and she responds similarly when he squeezes her hand, indicating that these scenes maybe remind him a little too much of his own traumas. In the end, they decide to turn the show off and put something a little more lighthearted on.

So instead they watch episodes of Bad Education, Sakura's head leaning on Sasuke's chest as she sprawls herself across the couch.

Sasuke particularly likes her lying like this, because he can very easily play with her hair, or even lightly tickle her side (something which she admitted to liking when they first started dating, and something that Sasuke likes to take every opportunity to satisfy her ticklishness with). He still loves the sound of her giggles, even after god-knows how many years of hearing them. Even as kids when he was not as fond of her as he is now, it was still as great of a sound then as it is now.

She too, likes lying like this. The gentle rise and fall of Sasuke's chest somehow soothes her, and she can feel him when he silently laughs at whatever joke has been made in the show. Knowing that she can tell when he laughs, he has given up on not releasing a sound, so on these rare occasions where Sasuke actually does laugh, she falls in love with him all over again.

Before long the pair find themselves wrapped up in bed, finally opting to use a hairdryer and preventing their bedsheets from being stained with the cold droplets that caused their suffering.

The violent crashing of raindrops hitting the roof and windows of their residence cause Sasuke to find Sakura clinging onto him, still somewhat shivering, with her head buried in the crook of his neck, her breath tickling his ear.

She's not frightened, no, she just finds such company relaxing when there is a torrential downpour like this one. And well, maybe she did let herself slightly forget about her childhood fear of storms, but now she has the strong arms of Sasuke Uchiha to protect her. Those very same arms she finds herself wrapped up in.

"Why did we ever think it would be a good idea to go outside in... that?" She sighs breathlessly on his shoulder, her cold nose touching his bare skin.

"I don't know," he replies, "You are going to be so ill tomorrow when you wake up."

"Well," she smirks, her voice slowly becoming hoarse after exposure to harsh weather, "I'm not ill now, am I?"

His grip on her tightens as he pulls her closer.

"No, no you aren't," he breathes, cutting off his own sentence with a passionate kiss.

Although they were cold, their night was full of ecstasy.

It's the small things in life that matter to them.

The walks in the rain (although they do bring a lot of suffering), the drinking of hot beverages, the blankets, the cuddles, their cute ways of bringing comfort to their significant other whilst watching shows on Netflix, their laughs, their smiles.

Even when they were as cold as they were, their loving smiles were all they needed. They only needed the reminder of each other's care to be happy.

Cold.

An unpleasant feeling, but a feeling that opens up so many new doors to show love to one another.

I'm not really sure where I was going with this, but here's some fluff.
