🌸 And They Were Roommates 🌸
"Aaaaaaand, DONE!" Sakura stood up, stretching her arms. She had just finished unpacking the last box in her room, setting her binders from school on the desk Sasuke had helped her set up the night before. Surprisingly enough, he was alright with moving into this new apartment with her and Naruto; granted, they both badgered him about it for around 3 months, and Sakura had to agree to grab Tomatoes for him every week, but Sakura still considered it a win. Besides, she planned on doing it anyway, since she was the only one to ever go shopping for food, so there wasn't really even that much of a drawback.
The way it worked was like this; Sakura would do the shopping for food and other necessities, Sasuke would pay for Electric and water, and Naruto would pay the rent. All three had agreed on that plan when they agreed they'd be moving in together. They'd take turns cooking, and at least once a month they'd do a takeout night. It seemed like a solid plan, and so they settled on that.
Sakura walked past the mirror on the door of her closet. Before she walked out of her room, she looked herself over to make sure she didn't look like a total train wreck. She straightened out the cherry blossom print jacket overtop the white t-shirt she was wearing, making sure her black leggings weren't bunched up at the bottoms, pink socks on her feet in favor over her usual red converse so she doesn't scuff up the wooden floors of the apartment. She remembers the red ribbon she used to tie back her hair out of her face, tying the bow at the bottom of her head. She walks out of her room in search for Sasuke, since Naruto was out with his girlfriend for the day, and had already unpacked.
As she expected, Sasuke was sitting on a chair near the counter, looking boredly atr his phone, cluing Sakura in that he'd either already unpacked or was waiting until later to do it. His hair was messy, as per usual, and he was wearing his usual combination of black jeans and a dark grey hoodie, deciding to spend the day in socks as well. Sakura smiled a little, walking over to the cabinet to grab her favorite pink mug to make some green tea.
"Hey, Sasuke, did you finish unpacking?" Sakura looked over at him, one eyebrow raised, as she started up the Keurig, "If not, I finally finished setting things up in my room, if you need help." The room filled with the aroma of freshly made tea, and Sakura walked over to the fridge to retrieve the milk to add to her tea.
Sasuke looked up from his phone, his expression softening a bit. "If you really want to help, I suppose I can't stop you." He put down his phone, leaning back on the chair. Sakura sat down at another one of the chairs at the table, taking a sip of her tea. "I'm about halfway through, so it shouldn't take that long," he stated, ruffling his hair a little, peering over at her, "I already went through the important stuff, like clothes, so you don't need to worry about that stuff."
Sakura nodded, smiling. If she was being honest with herself, she didn't really think Sasuke would be fine with her helping out, seeing as she was pretty sure he still found her annoying because Naruto and her practically forced him to move in here, but she decided not to question it. Seeing as she had liked this boy for years on end, she didn't plan on making a big deal out of any of the small gestures they made towards each other like she did when they were kids. She finished her tea, putting the mug in the sink for Naruto to clean later, since he was on Dish Duty tonight. "So, is now a good time to start, or were you doing something?"
Sasuke shook his head, standing up, sliding his phone into his pocket. "No, I'm not doing anything now." Sakura nods again, and they begin walking over to his room. The kitchen is close to the small hallway to the bedrooms. Sasuke's was at the end of the hallway, Sakura's was at the beginning, and Natuto's was right next to Sasuke's room, the bathroom between him and Sakura's room.
Sakura eyed the wooden floor of the apartment, and a look of childlike excitement creeped onto her face. She took a few steps back, earning her a bemused look from Sasuke. She smiled back at him, getting a bit of a running start, sliding across the floor towards Sasuke's room, almost sliding into the wall. She turned back to Sasuke, laughing a little. Sasuke, in turn, seeing how happy she looked, laughed along with her.
"Your turn..!" Sakura nodded in his direction, holding out her arms, "Don't worry; if you slip, I'll catch you..!" This caused Sasuke to smile a little more. They'd been friends for so long, it was normal for the two to make these comments to each other. Sasuke nodded back, stepping back a little like she did, running a bit, sliding across the floor. The carefree expression his face held as he slid across the floor caught Sakura off guard, so she didn't have time to back up out of the way so they wouldn't collide if Sasuke couldn't stop in time. As it turned out, Sasuke really COULDN'T stop in time, accidentally running into Sakura, knocking them both over, their lips accidentally colliding.
Sakura's first instinct was to pull away, since this was CLEARLY an accident, and she thought Sasuke would have followed suit, but for whatever reason, Sasuke looked as calm as he normally did. After a few seconds, their lips parted. Sakura scooted back a bit, leaning against the wall. Sasuke got off of her, kneeling in front of her. Sakura covered her mouth with her hands, eyes wide, blush prominent on her face. Sasuke smiled a little, standing up, holding out his hand to help her up.
"C'mon," he said, smiling a little more, "You agreed to help me, remember?" Sakura nodded a little, taking his hand, and he pulled her back onto her feet. It's a little difficult, since they were still on wooden floors, and Sakura accidentally falls forward into Sasuke. However, since the two are in the opposite situation they were in before, Sasuke manages to keep them both from falling, catching the smaller girl. Sakura looked up at him, her face flushed. Sasuke smiled down at her, pulling her a little closer. Suddenly, they hear the door open, footsteps coming down the hall, and a familiar, slightly raspy voice that could only belong to one person...
"Well it's about fuckin' time, Sasuke!"
