🌸Todo En Su Vida🌸
[modern AU, bittersweet]
Age 10
Their fighting started out small, harless, and usually over trival things, such as who was supposed to pick up the kids and why the water bills were so high.
She didn't know how things had gone down hill so quickly.
She remembers the first terrible fight her parents had. She was hiding in her room under the bed with Sasori, who was six at the time. She was hugging him tightly, trying to still him from his shivering.
"I know what you're doing!" their mother yelled. "I saw what was in your underwear!"
"I'm not doing anything!" her father responded.
"You're always gone! You're probably with that fucking slut!"
She didn't hear her father say anything, just the slam of the door and words she didn't know coming from her mother
At the time, she was too young to know what they were talking about.
And she wished it had stayed that way.
Age 15
"I think your father wants a divorce."
At this, Sakura looked up from her phone and stared at her mother, who was in the driver's seat of their old minivan. They had both just left their therapy session and were now headed to Konoha Plaza.
"Why?" Sakura felt her heart drop. She knew her parents were having some problems but she didn't expect things to be so bad.
"Because Tsunade-san asked me what I would do if we sat down and asked me that. She wouldn't be asking that unless he wanted a divorce," her mother explained. She looked tired, worn. "He told her that he wants a divorce, I'm sure of it."
In the back, Sakura's little brother, Sasori, was singing along to It's Everyday Bro, completely oblivious to the conversation Sakura and her mother were having.
"Five mil on youtube in six months, never done before!"
"Sasori! Stop singing!" her mother yelled angrily.
The little red-head jumped in suprise by his mother's outburst.
Sakura felt sorry for her brother, not liking her mother's yelling. Actually, she didn't like people yelling in general.
She gave out a silent sigh. Sometimes, she hated her family. The amount of problems and stress they gave her... she hated it.
"We're here."
She looked outside her car window and saw that her mother had parked outside.
||θ^θ||
Her breasts were, too, small.
For a 15 year old, one would expect at least a B-cup, but not for her. Sakura always had to get the smallest size possible.
It wasn't just the boobs though, it was everything.
Her hair was too long, her legs were too big, her forehead very large, and she was taller than most girls at school.
Very ugly.
Age 16
She was failing.
Well, not failing, but her grades were getting worse by the minute. She had no motivation this school year. She couldn't see herself with a good career anymore. Her parents were fighting more often and Sasori was starting to cause trouble at school. The other day he thrown a wooden puppet at another kid.
At the moment, she was in AP World History, her worst class. They were working in groups, to which she was thankful for.
In front of her sat Yamanaka Ino, her ugly thotty and partner in crime. Next to her sat Uchiha Sasuke, her hot and sexy crush that would never notice her.
"Hey, girlfriend," Ino called in a sly voice, "I... had sex with your mom." She sounded triumphant.
"No!" Sakura yelled dramatically. "Stop! My mom's not gay!"
"Yes she is," Ino giggled stupidly, "she told me last night when she was in my bed."
Sakura gasped in fake horror. "You dumb thotty!"
From the corner of her eye she saw Sasuke roll his eyes.
"Hey, Ino," he said and Ino turned to him.
Sakura stopped paying attention, she had no reason to. Instead, she was planing a schedule that she would most likely not follow.
If I do my math homework at lunch and finish it early I could start on my research project... Asuma never checks the Physics homework so I don't have to do that.
She heard Ino giggle and turned to see both members of her group laughing.
Sasuke never laughed, and there he was, chuckling at something Ino said.
Damn.
||θ^θ||
"How are you, Sakura?" Shizune, her therapist, asked.
"Good, you?" She always made her responses short when she was talking to her.
"I'm good, thanks," she smiled. "So, I have the next packet from our Self-Esteem book. Could you read the story?"
"...Sure."
Age 17
College was a dream. A big dream. One she wouldn't be able to obtain. She just didn't care anymore and even if she did it was already, too, late. After so long, she was finally failing all her classes. She was lucky she was actually graduating.
Things at home weren't so great. After dancing around the problem for so long, her parents had finally gotten a divorce. She wasn't taking it too well and neither was Sasori. He was living in a house full of women, he didn't have anybody. She was practically raising him. Her father left and never turned back, leaving their mother to work multiple shifts.
Everything was shit, shit, shit.
Ino and Sasuke had started dating a while back.
So, damn, there go the sexy senpai and the hotty thotty.
Age 18
She was juggling three jobs a week, each coming with minimum wage salaries. Her days consisted of moving boxes, cleaning houses, and flipping burgers. If she had time, she would help Sasori with his homework or make him something healthy.
She didn't mind the jobs. Everything was for Sasori. Sakura was going to make sure he went to a good college.
Even if she had to do something she didn't like.
Age 16: Sasori
The SATs were nearing. Sasori was doing nothing but studying and reviewing an SAT book Sakura had bought him with the money from her checks she got from men.
He didn't like it, those men touching his sister.
But it was his fault. If he hadn't left them, maybe things would be better for his mother and 20 year old sister. Sakura would have gone to college, gotten a degree, and majored in something cool, like medicine.
But it was up to him now. He learned to clean up his act a long time ago and started studying more often.
All he had to do now was score high.
Age 20
He had done it. Sasori had gotten an almost perfect score.
1569
She was so fucking proud. He was getting accepted into all the colleges he had applied for with full. Scholarships.
Where was he going? It was undecided at the moment. But all those possibilities!
"2202 yen," the cashier said glumly.
Right now, she was fishing for the correct amount of money in her purse to buy a chocolate cake for Sasori.
Just a little something to celebrate with.
"Sakura?" she heard behind her.
Damn, she knew that voice.
Just walk away, she thought. She paid the cashier and walked out the store.
"Hey! Sakura!" She walked a little faster. "Wait!" She felt a hand grab at her arm and then turn her around.
"Sasuke... let go." She commanded.
"I just want to talk."
"Sasuke," she sighed, "I can't, I have to go. Sasori's waiting for me?"
"Who the fuck is that?" he snarled. Right, Sasuke didn't know that she had a brother.
Actually, he didn't know anything about her.
"My brother." She really didn't want to talk to Sasuke. Not because of the whole dating Ino thing, she just didn't want to talk to anybody from high school. She made sure to cut all those connections.
Relief washed over Sasuke's face. He grasped Sakura's arm and began to drag her away from the store and into a nearby café.
"What are you doing?!"
"We're gonna talk. Right now."
"I said no." She snarled. "I'll scream for help if you don't let go."
Sasuke scoffed. "You think that'll stop me? Sakura, I'm one of the most powerful buisness men in this century. I could easily fish my way out of any predicaments."
Sakura fell silent, not liking the situation she was in. On one hand, Sasuke had probably heard of her services (not that she cared) and probably wished to purchase them. Which would actually benefit her, considering the fact that he was a rich buisness man.
On the other hand, he probably just wanted to reconnect, which didn't make sense since they never actually spoke.
When she didn't give a response, Sasuke took it upon himself to find a table in the café and order for them.
"So," he began, clearing Sakura of her thoughts, "I heard from someone that you were taking up an... unusual career."
Nevermind, she obviously did care when she felt her blood run cold.
"What do you mean?" She tried to play innocent (which was quite ironic, if you ask her).
"Well, Sakura, I've been informed that you've become a hooker." He glared.
Sakura became stiff, unsure of what to say.
"Sakura," he leaned closer, "is it true?"
What was she supposed to say? 'Yeah, Sasuke, I'm a fucking prostitute'? She gripped her skirt in frustration. She barely even knew Sasuke. She might've sat next to him for a period for an entire school year but he only talked to -and dated- Ino.
"Um," she stuttered, "in a way." There's was no way she could play around this.
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "Explain."
"So," she stretched her arms out in front of her and looked down, "when I need money, I like to go to clubs and find some drunk people and have sex with them. And, then, in the morning, I find their wallets and... take money from then. So... technically not a prostitute, I guess."
She was hesitant to look at Sasuke but she looked at him anyway. His hands were folded and positioned near his face in deep thought.
"So you're a theif," he said after a moment.
She opened her mouth to answer, but then realized he had made some sense.
Some sense.
"Well, no, because I'm exchanging my services for money," she said with an intellectual tone.
"Without them knowing." Friggin' Sasuke. "So, stealing."
"Well, when you put it that way, then yeah, I'm stealing."
He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "You can't do that."
She gave an irritated groan. "Damn, Sasuke, hop off," she growled, somehow turning back into a teen, "we can't all be rich boys like you."
He smirked. Sakura had never spoken to her that way in high school, always choosing to talk to Ino in that manner.
"Sakura, Sakura," he wiggled a finger, "first of all, I worked hard for this job."
"Che," she glared. "Shut up, ugly. Your friggin' daddy gave you the job when stopped being an emo, doo-doo head."
The raven chuckled, about to give a whitty retort before thinking about her words.
Emo, doo-doo head.
"What the hell, Sakura? I wasn't emo."
"Shut the fuck up. I saw you crying in the library."
"When?!"
"Like... when we took the AP World History Exam."
"I wasn't crying!"
"Then what were you doing?!"
"It's none of your buisness!" he yelled, throwing both adults into an awkward silence. Neither of them had seen the other worked up before. It was a moment or two before Sasuke cleared his throat and spoke. "In all seriousness, Sakura, you need a job." He pulled out his phone and started typing something, "Selling yourself isn't something that's very stable and you could probably get hurt or get pregnant of you're not careful." He glared at his phone. "Now," he started swiping his finger, " I know a few people that could possibly hire you, even without some sort of degree-"
"Sasuke," she tried.
"-and the pay isn't bad. It's better than being a... thieving scarlet woman-"
"I don't really want your jobs."
"What?" He looked up from his phone and stared at Sakura in disbelief. "Why?"
"Umm." Why didn't she want his jobs? "I... need to do things on my own."
"On your own? Sakura, you could get hurt. What if someone tries to force you?"
"Prostitutes aren't the only ones getting raped, Sasuke," she leaned forward and put her arms on the table, "I could still get raped because... you know, I'm a woman." She touched her hair. "And, besides, I don't want your pity."
"It's not pity," his nose scrunched up, " I'm helping an old friend."
"We weren't friends!" She quickly stood up. "You never even looked at me! All you did was talk to Ino!"
"Because all you did was talk to her!" Sasuke stood up, as well.
"Because you you didn't talk to me!"
"You could've talked to me!"
"But you looked mean! I was afraid!"
"But I wasn't mean!"
"But you looked like you were!"
"Sakura," Sasuke groaned and pinched to the bridge of his nose, clearly annoyed, "I wasn't mean."
"Hmph," she pouted, "you looked like it."
Sasuke growled and sat down, Sakura mimicking his actions.
"Take. A fucking. Job."
"N. O."
"Stop!"
Age 23
They were at some fancy restaurant, much to Sakura's dismay. She hated acting sophisticated in front of so many snobs. But Sasuke had taken the liberty of setting up a date and she knew it would be rude to say she didn't feel like eating fancy food.
He sat in front of her, seemingly nervous. His leg was bouncing under the table and he had his hands in his pockets.
"Sasuke," she asked, "are you okay?"
"Huh?" He jumped. "Oh, um, yeah. I'm good," he stuttered.
She tilted her head in confusion. Sasuke never acted nervous. He had the biggest friggin' ego she had ever seen.
Before she could farther interrogate him, he spoke.
"Sakura," he blushed, "we've been, um, we've been dating for, um, a while now and, crap, and I just... I-"
"My apologies," a waiter said, placing food on their table, "here are-"
"DO YOU WANNA GET MARRIED?"

The song above was my inspiration. You can listen to it if you want to. Btw, this was somehow published unfinished. Not sure how, but still my deepest apologies.
