🌸Being a Father🌸

[funny, Sarada, fluff]

"Sasuke..."

"Sakura, you did it."

"What's her name?"

"Sh, don't worry about that now, you need to rest. You used a lot of chakra just to give birth. Probably not the best idea, huh?"

"No, it's okay." the Uchiha's wife giggled, "a name, Sasuke."

"A name..." Sasuke smiled, "the one we came up with long before this."

"Still?"

"Of course. Sarada Uchiha." Sasuke said as he took the baby into his arm, holding her close and making sure to keep her warm.

"Sasuke... I'm a mother." Sakura blushed excitedly, "and... You're a father!"

"I..." Sasuke swallowed hard, feeling his throat closing up, "I'm a father..."

My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I married the very strong and gorgeous Kunoichi, Sakura Haruno. And with her, we had a daughter, Sarada Uchiha. Having team reunions with Kakashi and Naruto, we've heard the questions of what could be the hardest part of our lives as the strongest ninja in the village. Well, I would honestly answer this question to anyone who asks it that it's not even the fights or battles. The hardest part of my life...

Is being a father.

A.) EXPERIENCE

As the last Uchiha and losing his parents when he was younger, he never really knew how to be a father. He really had no father figure growing up, and his closest trace to parental figures are the two that he grew up with in a parental setting the longest.

"Kabuto, bring me some tea."

"Right away, Lord Orochimaru."

Sasuke watched in amusement as Kabuto ran off to make tea for his bedridden Sannin master and snake user, Orochimaru.

"Here you go." Kabuto brought the tea as well as a plate of dumplings and new bandages to wrap around Orochimaru's useless arms. As he removed the bandages, Kabuto turned to Sasuke, "Sasuke, would you like some tea as well?"

"Uh, no thanks..." Sasuke rose an eyebrow and continued to occupy himself 'polishing' the blade of his katana.

Kabuto refused to give up, "Well, Sasuke, how about some dumplings instead?"

Frankly, this scene disturbed him and never left his memory.

________

"Sasuke, would you like some tea?"

"Uh, sure." Sasuke accepted the cup from his wife as she proceeded to change the bandages on his left arm. He loves way she holds his arm the way she was doing at the moment, so he decided to get a little playful, "careful Sa-ku-ra... You might strike a nerve somewhere..."

"Sasuke, not in front of Sarada." Sakura blushed, understanding the pervertedness behind Sasuke's tone.

"Ew. Papa is always so disgusting with Mama..." Sarada grumbled as she watched the two.

Sasuke turned to look at his daughter as Sakura only laughed. He knew how to be the greatest husband in the world, but being a father was a different story. He turned back to Sakura and whispered, "maybe you should offer to get her some tea, as well."

Sakura had a puzzled look, "huh? Darling she's only 4..."

It never occurred to the Uchiha that when Kabuto made that gesture he was so much older than Sarada is at that moment. He only chuckled nervously, "Well, Sarada, how about some dumplings instead?"

B.) FUN

Sasuke's definition of 'fun' is certainly far different comparing his childhood with Sarada's. He is an avenger who grew up with practically no happiness or way of having fun. Not even at the academy. Unlike Sarada who has living family and friends. His expectations and his reality are slightly debatable.

"Come on, Orochimaru. Is that the best you can do?" Sasuke panted as he wiped away the sweat on his forehead with his sleeve, dead soldiers surrounding him.

"Very good, Sasuke." Orochimaru smirked, "Kabuto, give him more."

"Ah, yes." Kabuto obeyed, sending out more soldiers to keep Sasuke busy.

He continued to fight until everything they could send at him was wiped out.

"Why, he seems to thoroughly be enjoying himself." Orochimaru chuckled, "alright, Sasuke. Come on in, you need some rest if you want to continue training for tomorrow."

____________

"Darling, I need to head to the hospital for an emergency. Can you please stay and watch Sarada for a bit?"

"Uh-huh."

"Thanks. Love you." Sakura sighed a sigh of relief as she gave him a kiss.

"Love you too." Sasuke returned the kiss, but yanked her back, "one more."

"No, Sasuke, I have to go." Sakura laughed.

"Just one more--"

"Papa."

The couple looked down to see their stubborn daughter standing beneath them, arms crossed and lips popped out in a pout.

"Okay, bye sweetie." Sakura have Sarada a kiss on the forehead, "be good for Papa."

With that, she left the two.

"So, what do you want to do?" Sasuke asked her as she led him into her room.

"Let's play dolls!" Sarada held out a doll for Sasuke to take.

"Oh, okay." Sasuke sat cross-legged across from her, "so are they going to fight?"

"No, of course not! They're going to have a party!" Sarada corrected him.

"Ah, but where's the fun in that?"

"Papa! Fighting isn't fun! Parties are fun!" Sarada giggled.

"Oi..." Sasuke rubbed his head, Sakura.... Please get back quickly...

C.) SHARING

As a married couple, Sasuke and Sakura had all the time in the world for each other. But with most of their lives preoccupied with a child, their time management may have changed quite a bit.

"Finally..."Sasuke groaned in relief.

"Sorry the analysis took longer than usual, Sasuke." Naruto chuckled nervously.

"It's okay." Sasuke replied, "I'll just be heading home now. Thanks for all your help."

"No problem." Naruto grinned as Sasuke left the Hokage's office, excited to finally get home.

He walked through the front door and all the lights were out, which was normal at eleven at night. He expected Sarada to be asleep and Sakura to be up, "finally some alone time with Sakura since I got back to the village..." He smiled when he saw the lamplight in under the door. He slowly opened it and peeked in, but was shocked to see Sakura reading a book in bed, but sleeping next to her was Sarada.

"Hey, Sasuke!" Sakura smiled, "she had a nightmare, so she wanted to sleep with me. She does that a lot when you're gone."

"I... I see." Sasuke cleared his throat, then let out a long exhale, "looks like we'll have to share Mama for the night, eh, Sarada?"

D.) POSSESSIVENESS

When it comes to taking care of a child, one parent may require more time with the child than with the other paren, thus leading to some jealousy among the neglected parent. Especially if that parent has a possessive complex.

"Sarada's crying again." Sakura rocked the baby in her arms as she tried to calm the three week-old child.

"Is she hungry?" Sasuke asked, not looking up from his scroll, taking no interest in the situation, understanding Sakura knows best when it comes to children.

"Maybe." Sakura muttered, "okay, Sarada. You want some milk? Maybe you'll calm down." With that said, she got ready to feed the baby.

An unknowing Sasuke sat innocently reading through the scroll glanced up at his wife sitting across from him, then his face turned red.

"Huh? What's the matter, Sasuke?"

"Wh-what are you..." Sasuke stared in horror. Not having grown up with parents or baby siblings that taught him the ways of child keeping, he was greatly horrified but at the same time turned on by the sight. Perhaps Itachi knew when his mother had Sasuke, but never had he witnessed this.

"It's called breast-feeding, Sasuke." Sakura explained.

"B-but, but, but..." Sasuke stared at her for a very long time before holding the scroll back up in front of his face, trying so hard to keep from looking, "hmph."

E.) KNOWING WHEN TO LET GO

The hardest part about being a father isn't just found in their early childhood or years of growing up, but also learning to say bye when the time comes.

"Sasuke."

Sasuke stubbornly looked over his shoulder, "what?"

"Orochimaru wishes to see you." Kabuto announced.

"Hn."

Sasuke rolled out of his bed and slowly trudged out the door, followed by Kabuto.

Oh, today's the day... Kabuto watched the back of Sasuke's head, The day he's taken up as a vessel. Oh, I'm too proud of him... He's definitely grown to be a strong Shinobi. Lord Orochimaru are surely proud of this young man. And now he is ours.

Kabuto chuckled slyly to himself, but wiped away an invisible tear no one in the world could've seemed to notice behind his large frames and the glare of its lenses.

___________

"Dad!"

"Ah, Sarada." Sasuke turned around to see his daughter run up to him, "how are you? You seem to be really in a rush."

"Have you seen mom? I really wanted to tell you both at the same time." Sarada's tone was so excited as she clutched her hand tightly.

"Did you break your hand again? I see the tear stains in your cheek." Sasuke replied quickly, "are you alright? Who did this to my baby? I'll go and break their--"

"No, no, Dad!" Sarada laughed, "I'm not hurt! In fact, I'm so excited to tell you!"

"What? Just tell me!"

Sarada thrust out her hand into Sasuke's face, "look!"

"Wha...." Sasuke stared at her blurred hand right in front of him, but clearly recognized the small diamond on her ring finger, "Sarada..."

"I'm engaged! I'm going to get married!" Sarada smiled brightly, ready to start crying again.

"Sarada..." Sasuke stared at her, his purple aura suddenly flowing off of him, "who did this to you?"

"Huh? What?"

"I asked... Who did this to you?"

"Dad! You're overthinking this, it's just--"

"I never gave anyone permission..." Sasuke's gaze seemed to burn into her soul, "I never knew you were in a relationship to begin with..."

"What?!" Sarada gasped, "but I told you and you were happy for me! Then Boruto said--"

"BORUTO?!" Sasuke shouted, "please, Shikadai, Inojin, anyone but Naruto's kid! Even Orochinaru's kid..."

"Dad, it's Boruto..." Sarada rolled her eyes.

"Ho no! Not on my watch! He probably used a transformation jutsu when you supposedly told me about it, then he just lied to you about getting my blessing, that little scumbag..."

"What? Boruto was with me when we talked to you..."

"You've got to be kidding me!! Where's Naruto?!?!" Sasuke yelled, "no way you're not getting married, my princess is mine and only mine. Where are those Uzumaki?! I'm going to kill him, and this time, I won't fail."

_______________

So long story short, I've had my ups and downs as a father, and Sarada knows that for sure. But she knows that even though I might not be the perfect dad, she still loves me, and she knows that I really do love her, and that I absolutely love being her father.
