Falling in love was against his principles. Was. The moment he stepped out of Konohagakure to see the world for himself, Sasuke Uchiha felt a part of him departed. It felt as if you lost your soul to oblivion. He knew temporarily leaving was the right to do, but why does if feel so wrong?
"You're out of your mind." He kept mumbling to himself on several occasions. But, sleepless nights came and despite the fact of his healthy being, the Uchiha survivor felt sick inside. Deep within, something back home was breaking. Shattering. Vanishing.
Nothing's wrong. Yeah, right.
And in the midst of venturing out his frustrations to the ninja world, flashes of someone he used to know passed by. Someone to whom he unknowingly invested so much feelings in, it gave him an excuse to leave. Someone. Someone. Someone.
Everyday and every minute, Sasuke would notice something odd happening to him. He would frequently draw a certain face on pieces of paper with his worn-out brush. Though, he never drew her perfectly, Sasuke felt a sense of joy over powerful by just attempting to do such childish acts.
Is it even possible to love someone even more?
Damn these feelings. It wasn't logical. Sasuke Uchiha doesn't deserve her, but his heart kept telling him otherwise. She's something he can't get out of his system. Sometimes he would even find himself practicing lines, weeks before his return.
And all the words that left his mouth revolved around:
H-Hey.. How are you?
It's been a long time, huh?
C-Can I visit you sometime?
And the funny thing is, they would all lead up to: I hope you still love me. After devastating rehearsals, Sasuke would sigh and get red in the face. Screw this, he's an Uchiha! Sakura loved him for as long as he could remember. It's true, he's been a douchebag, but that won't stop him from marrying her.
The minute he steps foot on Konoha's grounds again, Sasuke will ask---demand her hand in marriage.

It was the day.
Sasuke ran through the busy streets after talking to the Hokage. Villagers would often glare at him for his recklessness. He kept bumping people along the way and it made half of the female population curious.
Sweat dripped down the sides of his face. Heart pounding inside his chest. A mind slowly malfunctioning and a bouquet of roses in one hand---well, he only has one hand left, anyway.
Sakura..
Sakura..
Sakura.
Her name kept seeping it's way into his head. Then and there, he suddenly got terrified of the possibility of sounding too anxious. When he reached her apartment's door, Sasuke knocked rathed impatiently.
"Coming!"
A sweet, melodic voice came from behind the wooden door that separated them. His breath hitched when she opened the door.
Sakura Haruno's eyes widened in shock. What the heck is the doing her? But before she could vocalize her thoughts, Sasuke suddenly presented the not-so-presentable bouquet to her. He nervously bowed his head. His hands were shaking and he's pretty sure Itachi is laughing at him from where he watched.
"S-Sakura!" Fuck you, Sasuke! You're an Uchiha! he mentally scolded himself for the sudden outburst and tried to compose himself again. And when he met Sakura's eyes, the lust for being loved by the pinkette welled in his chest.
"Sasuke? Y-You're back.."
"Marry me."
There! He finally said it. So much for the 'Hey, how are you?' lines he practiced.
But can we really blame him?
Sasuke Uchiha is a man who lost everything he had once.. He wouldn't allow anybody to do that again. He's not losing her, and that's that. And maybe, after all these years, Sasuke Uchiha developed a fear of losing her. In between those fanciful nights, he would develop nightmares..all about Sakura finding someone else she deemed to be worth the struggle.
Seconds passed and Sakura just froze on the spot.
"H-Hey, umm.. Forget about what I said. I-I mean, we can do marriage after a week or something. I won't rush you." A week? Seriously? Sasuke mentally kicked his possessive side in the ass. Screw these feelings!
Sakura, seeming to regain her senses, sighed and gave him an apologetic smile.
"I'm with another man."
"Then I'll kill him."
She frowned. "Sasuke, you're not making any sense---"
"Love's not about having senses, Haruno. It's about giving your whole heart to someone you want to be with for the rest of your life."
The young kunoichi shook her head.
"I don't love you anymore."
"Lies." And just before she could close the door, Sasuke spoke,
"You can push me away, but I everytime you do, I will always be running back to you."
Sakura fought the urge to cry and slammed the door shut. Sasuks sighed and leaned his back on the door as he sat infront of her apartment. He's not going anywhere. He won't let her off that easily. If he has to spend the rest of his life waiting outside her apartment's door, then so be it.
One thought crossed his mind,
I shouldn't have left.
Sasuke sighed, and close his eyes for a while. Just in time to hear those muffled sobs coming from the other side of the door.
