Its Christmas tomorrow and I'm spending it alone. Sad isn't it? My boyfriend is overseas on business and isn't supposed to be back till New Years Day.

            At the moment, Christmas carols are playing softly in the background from my stereo and I'm just lounging on the couch, staring at the tree that I had decorated with Sasuke before he left. I can tell you, it was difficult to take him into even helping with it because he never really liked celebrating holidays like this. But I had been successful after a few bribes.

            Now I'm just waiting for him to call like he promised to. Glancing at the clock, I realize that its 10 pm and I am gonna need to go to bed soon. I sigh and stand. Just then the phone rings, breaking the soft music with its loud ringing. "Hello?" I answer after hitting the accept call button.

            "Hey Dobe." Came the silky smooth voice of the one person I wish was there with me right now. "Hey Teme, glad you called before it got to late." I teased lightly, leaning against the counter top.

            "I'm sorry about that Naru, I wasn't able to get out of the meeting till just a bit ago."

            "It's ok Sas'ke, I'm just glad I got to hear from you before Christmas."

            "I know Naru. I sent a present and it should be there tomorrow."

            "I don't care about presents Sas'ke, I just want you for Christmas." I mumbled into the phone, wrapping my arm around my waist.

            There was a pause before Sas'ke replied with a soft, "I wish I could make that happen Naru but with the company needing me here, I can't be there."

            I nodded in understanding, even though he wouldn't be able to see it, but he seemed to know what I did. "I'm sure you'll enjoy the present I'm sending though Naru." He said, his voice sounding like he was smiling softly.

            "I've always loved the presents you've given me Teme." I chuckled, my spirits lifting a little bit.

            "Make sure to save me a kiss underneath the mistletoe Dobe." He teased. I bet you anything that that damned Uchiha smirk was on his face right now.

            "I'll save you more than a kiss, Teme. Make sure to be home in time before the holiday cheer leaves and I don't feel like giving you even a kiss." I smiled, teasing him right on back.

            "Of course Naru. Any way I have to let you go, another meeting is starting soon." He sounded sad about having to hang up and annoyed at having to go to another meeting.

            "Alright Sas'ke. Have fun with your meeting and make sure to call me tomorrow sometime. Goodnight." I said with a small, rueful smile.

            "Goodnight Naruto, love you." He said softly.

            "Goodnight Sasuke, I love you to." I said before hitting the end call button. With a sigh, I put the phone back in its holder and made my way to the bedroom and the bed that seemed to big and cold. Glancing up and seeing the mistletoe hanging in the doorway where I had hung it, I smiled sadly and finally climbed into bed. I fell asleep to the sound of the softly playing Christmas music playing from the living room.
