Chapter 4
Kira felt a little more at ease now that she had been traveling with Orochimaru for the past month and a half. She had more freedom at the base and was no longer locked in her room when unaccompanied. She wasn't friends with Kabuto but with her constant pestering she was now his assistant in some projects. She was thankful she wasn't called on often.
Kira took notes for him, sure it was still boring but at least she was doing something. It helped get her away from Sasuke, he hasn't done anything recently thankfully. She still didn't want to be alone with him, she wouldn't break up with Gaara. There was no way she was going to break up with her loving boyfriend just because he wanted her to.
Kira grumbled to herself scribbling down what Kabuto said again. "What's your problem?" Kabuto muttered, staring under the microscope. "I doubt you really care. So why ask?"
Sitting up straight Kabuto stared at the girl rolling his eyes. "You've been muttering under your breath for the past twenty minutes. It's quite distracting."
Frowning, the gray haired girl glanced down at her notes noticing the murderous intent in all her letters. "It's nothing, I'll deal with it." Kira mumbled trying to ignore a growling dragon within her chest. She didn't think she was being loud. Maybe if there was music playing she'd be able to distract herself from her evil thoughts.
"Do you have a radio?" Kabuto shrugged, not answering "Music is a distraction."
"But it's so quiet."
"I don't see a problem." Kira couldn't help but roll her eyes 'Of course you'd say that.' Shaking her head Kira slipped from her stool choosing to stand and write instead of sitting down. Her muscles contracted as soon as she stood making the ache disappear. She desperately needed a workout or a sparring buddy she didn't care who it was.
"The effects of subject C are inconclusive. We will have to try again at a later date." Kira nodded, scribbling what Kabuto said into the journal for him.
"Subject D was responsive to subject D36, though subject itself suffered the same fate as Subject A and B." Glancing over at the rat cages Kira felt her heart ache. She hated testing on these animals, the rats didn't even have names; they were called Subject A-G. and from what it looks like all the specimens were deceased.
"Having fun being scientist?" Kira jumped. Glancing beside her she saw Sasuke looking over the dead rat with little to no emotion showing "This must be killing you, having to torture all these rats." clutching tighter onto her pen Kira stared hard at the notebook. Sasuke smirked to himself watching her reactions closely.
Sasuke shifted closer towards Kira wrapping his arm around her waist pulling her closer to him. He missed how soft her skin felt and could practically see her begging to run. Leaning closer towards the girl he started to whisper in her ear, trailing his lips along the curve of the point. "I got you something." His teeth grazed the top sending a red blush to coat her face as she tried to ignore him. "Nothing special, just something to entertain you for a while."
Her face darkened when his voice dropped like that, the deep growl in his voice, his bites, how soft and low he could get his voice...shivers ran down her spine as she tried to get away from him, crunching up her neck to avoid any more interactions in that area. "No thank you."
She could feel the chuckles rumble through his chest, his fingers trailing up and down the curve of her hip "But I'm so sure you'll love it. Come with me."
And to make matters worse Kabuto pulled away from the microscope to steal the notebook Kira was using. "I no longer need you for the day, thank you for what little help you've done." Glaring at the silver haired bastard. Kira wanted to hit him with one of the many chairs around them but figured she knew why he was leaving. With Sasuke here that must mean that he's done with his training and Kabuto needs to get back to Orochimaru's side.
"Perfect your free." Sasuke latched his hand onto hers and dragged her through the many halls of the latest hideout. She couldn't understand how Sasuke knew where everything was, when she was free to move about she got lost at least once or twice.
"Where are you taking me?" Kira muttered tugging at her arm, was he planning something? Of course he was. He's always planning something when it comes to her it seems. Sasuke smirked, tightening his grip on her hand, keeping quiet.
He was greatly enjoying watching her emotions run all over the place. But he knew she would actually like his gift. It wasn't much, just a new book he knew she was itching to read something different. Walking inside his room Sasuke finally let go of the girl's hand. He watched her grow ridged as she glanced around the room.
She won't fight him, not unless he pushes her too far. He'll push her just enough. It still irked him that she was with that sand brat. Why would she go after Gaara when she knew his feelings were beyond him. "Close your eyes."
"No thank you,"
"Don't be shy, we've known each other for years now. Don't you trust me?" grinning down at the woman in front of him Sasuke leaned closer knowing fully well he was invading her space. "No."
"Shame, but close your eyes anyway. Or I'll do it for you."
Grumbling to herself, Kira crossed her arms over her chest, unknown to her she unconsciously pushed her larger breasts up in the process. Sasuke bit his lip staring at them, wanting nothing more than to see her clothes just simply disappear. She still wore her black shorts that clung to her toned thighs, her light blue baby blue tank top that was practically a second skin. Her Jonin jacket was unzipped all the way giving Sasuke access to seeing the medium dip of cleavage to her large breasts.
They were alone in his room, they could get away with anything he wanted to do. Shaking his head away from such lewd thoughts Sasuke moved to his dresser and pulled out a new book. The covor was a deep red and on the spine it told the story's title. "Here." Her brilliant ruby red eyes opened and stared at him confused before trailing down towards his hand.
"One of the merchants in the village was selling it, said it was from halfway across the world...figured it would be a good read."
He watched her tentatively take the book into her hands, her eyes glued onto the pages looking it over with fascination, she was so cute. Her left hand glided over the pages with ease. "Thank you..." she muttered softly, keeping her eyes downcasted. Leaning forward Sasuke smirked watching her back away.
"What? Can't I get a proper thank you?" his arms were quick to encircle her frame pulling her body closer to his. "With you, you'll somehow make me regret it." she grumbled keeping her arms wrapped around her body and the book.
Chuckled down at her, Sasuke moved his head so that he was hovering just in front of her face. "I'm not asking for much." her eyes locked with his onyx. He was enjoying himself obviously. "I'm still with Gaara."
Saying his name seemed to irk him, she noticed the way his eyes narrowed considerably as he tried to keep his cool. He hated that she still chose Gaara over himself. "So? Im just asking for a simple hug." squinting her brows at the male before her she didn't trust him.
"Nothing with you is simple."
Chuckling again he only shrugged. "It's just a hug, what more could anyone get out of that?" She didn't trust him, he would do something out of that to make her uneasy. She could hear Kaida screaming at her to go away. Sasuke wasn't trustworthy around her. "One hug, that's all I'm asking for."
"Fine...but I swear to kami if you try something." he grinned to himself watching her shift her arms to wrap around his neck. Smiling to himself he placed his head in the crook of her neck, already feeling her body go rigid again. "Relax Kira...it's just a hug."
"With you a hug could mean anything."
Tightening his hold around her waist Sasuke snuggled deeper into her neck. "Can't you just enjoy the hug? It's not often that I get to hold the most beautiful woman in the world." frowning at his words Kira looked at one of his blank walls.
"You're imagining things. I look nothing like Sakura or Ino."
Pulling back Sasuke gave her one of his weird faces "What are you talking about?" groaning she pulled away from this strange hug and moved to stand by his desk needing some space. "Well it's obvious those two were the prettiest when it came to class. And as we got older they're still pretty and strong and, they don't have horns sticking out of the top of their heads, not to mention they know how to keep all their limbs."
The next thing Kira knew was she was being thunked in the head "Idiot." He smacked her head a few more times giving her the Uchiha death stare. "Okay! Okay quit hitting me!"
"Stop acting like Naruto then."
"Don't talk bad about my best friend!" She snapped glaring up at him. She knew he didn't put much power behind his thunks but it still hurt. "Besides I'm mostly still bitter that I'm the only one in the village in our class that's handicapped."
Rolling his eyes, Sasuke took the girls hand into his own pulling her towards his bed for them to read and relax. Maybe eventually he'd trust her to train with him but for now? His own personal heater.
Sasuke watched her stare him down as he left to get his own book. She was suspicious of his entire motive. She was smart to be but Sasuke knew he needed to take his time with her. After all being slow with her made them close in the past. "You going to stare at me all night or are you going to read?"
"I figured if I stare long enough you'll get a second head or something." Rolling his eyes again Sasuke and Kira sat in comfortable silence. Reading their books. Every now and then he would glance over at her to see her eyes shooting across the pages, her bottom lip would be stuck between her teeth. Her fingers would grip the book tighter if something good had happened.
Such the expressive reader. Sasuke loved to watch her read, the show could always change to something else so perfect. So beautiful. And all his. He'd just take his time. She was playing right into his plan and hopefully by two months time she'd be his for the taking.
