*a/n: a gif of yeo nari, narda's flat mate (portrayed by seolhyun) ^.^*
When the boys finished their dinner that afternoon, a few of them got together to watch movies in the lounge room for the rest of the night. They had finally been able to convince Junmyeon--the group's leader--to watch a few with them, but Baekhyun went straight to his room instead. Chanyeol followed behind him, if only to leave his box of rice cakes in his room because there were only six in the small box and he didn't want to share them with anyone. Having them in a room with eleven other boys made him feel compelled to share and he didn't want to.
He placed them on the nightstand in between the two beds just as Baekhyun laid down on his bed and got his phone out of his pocket. He pretended he wasn't upset and scrolled through the newsfeed in his social media account absently. It was just a means to make himself look like he was busy.
Just before turning to leave the room, Chanyeol asked his room mate, "Aren't you going to come watch the movie with us?" He thought--of all people--that Baekhyun would be the most interested in watching the fiasco that would be Junmyeon forcing himself to endure his way through a horror film.
Baekhyun gave a silent shake of his head.
"Come on." Chanyeol tried to convince him. His voice amused as he mentioned the next part. Baekhyun liked to mimic the other boys, and he was especially good at it too. Chanyeol was more interested to watch his room mate pick a victim to mimic that night, rather than watching an actual movie. "Even Tao and Junmyeon-hyung are going to watch with us, and we've been trying to get our leader hyung to agree for months."
The boy laid on his bed heaved an indifferent sigh, never taking his eyes off his cellphone screen. He was just clicking on random notifications, not even paying any attention to what they were, before closing them in a matter of seconds. It was that mere action that let Chanyeol know that Baekhyun was mad, and what was more was that he was upset at him. He, of course, already knew the reason why.
It dawned on him in an instant, and Chanyeol let out a chuckle. "Are you mad because your girl gave me some rice cakes as a present?" He gestured to the nicely decorated and neatly wrapped box on the night stand. It was unopened, but the top of the box had a transparent film layer which allowed them to see what was inside. In that case, they were six freshly prepared pink colored rice cake treats with red bean filling inside them. The mere thought of having one made Chanyeol's mouth water, but he wanted to refrain from eating them as long as possible to poke fun at Baekhyun who had rejected the gift.
His room mate denied the accusation with a quick shake of his head. "I'm not mad that girl gave you the rice cakes I didn't want. I'm mad because you should have a loyalty towards me, as your best friend, and not talk to her."
Chanyeol reasoned by giving a shrug of his shoulders, "She offered me food. What was I supposed to do?"
"So now that she couldn't get to me, she's trying to get to you?" Baekhyun raised an eyebrow at his friend.
"Jealous much?" Chanyeol teased.
"Not really." Baekhyun finally looked up from his phone and set it face down on his bed next to him. Crossing his arms over his chest, he continued, "I'm just surprised she's luring you into her trap just as easily as she lured me."
"Don't get confused." Chanyeol quickly shook his head. He thought that his situation was entirely different to what had happened with Baekhyun and Narda. "I was only being nice after you ignored her so savagely like that, and left her out in the cold. I let you know that she was lying so that you could stop being fooled, not so you could treat her like she was a horrible person for it. She's a fan after all, and she only wanted to get close to you. All of our fans want to be close to us."
Baekhyun eyed his room mate with confusion. Suddenly he was showing that he was on Narda's side when she had lied to Baekhyun so shamelessly. "Wait, now you feel bad for her? You were the one calling her the little liar if I recall correctly."
"She was genuinely sorry." Chanyeol explained as he remembered the young woman standing out in the cold, waiting to give Baekhyun an apology present. Most people wouldn't have done that, to ask for forgiveness like that when she could have hidden and stayed out of their way from then on. She had been brave enough to own up to her mistakes. "And she made rice cakes. What more did you want?"
"Rice cakes that were meant for me." Baekhyun muttered under his breath.
"You didn't want them." Chanyeol pointed out.
"Go watch your movie and leave me alone, you traitor." The smaller of the two boys huffed in annoyance. He was now not only mad at Narda for lying to him, but mad at Chanyeol for his betrayal in talking to the girl who had fooled him.
Chanyeol rolled his eyes, deciding it was best to cut the conversation there. "Alright. And just think of it this way, Baekhyun...Next week we're leaving to China for a week and a half to do promos and appear in a variety show. Plus, in another four months we start our first solo tour and you won't have to see her for the next couple of months after that. So really, you need to stop being so cranky." With a fake cough, he added, "And jealous."
Baekhyun thought about it after shooting his friend a glare. The next week and a half without having to see the strange girl who seemed to be obsessed with him. That wasn't nearly enough time to enjoy. The four months on tour--on the other hand--were ones he couldn't wait to have to himself.

Narda entered the apartment with a sulk on her face, and a downcast aura surrounding her. Nari knew things hadn't gone well between her and the the boys from across the street without even having to ask. But in the past two weeks that the American girl was living at her apartment as her flat mate, she had actually grown to like her as a person. She was friendly, and likable, though sometimes she showed to have too much energy when she spent several hours out exploring the town as she would tell Nari.
By now then it was highly possible that she had seen all of Seoul. She of course didn't imagine that all Narda had seen while in the foreign country was Nari's apartment, the school, and the SM Town dorm building where EXO lived.
"Why so gloomy, Narda-yah?" She wondered looking at the girl who took slow steps into the apartment.
By her side on the couch was a similar box to the one she had helped Narda prepare earlier that afternoon. Inside were more different color rice cakes, but all with red bean filling. Nari's had been green, white, and pink. She was planning to deliver them as a gift to her sweetheart, but she was too tired to go out that afternoon. She instead decided she would give it to him the next day at work where she would surely be seeing him.
With a sigh escaping her lips, Narda only gave a vague answer. "He doesn't want to talk to me anymore."
She then quickly excused herself and went to her bedroom for the rest of the night.
Nari didn't give it a second thought and let Narda have some time to herself. She knew that her flat mate was the type who--if she wanted to talk about something--she would initiate the conversation, just like when she had asked Nari to teach her how to make rice cakes.

Narda stayed out of Baekhyun's way for another set of days, which was just as well because the EXO boys had spent that week returning to their dorms in the middle of the night, too late for the primary school teacher to be out. Narda would periodically peek out her window, which faced the front of the building and she could see the SMT dorm building across the street.
As a new week started, Nari had informed her flat mate that she would be gone for a week and a half for reasons that pertained to her job. The agency she worked for was requiring her to leave the country with them, so that she could do her job as a stylist where they needed her. Nari made sure to keep the details vague, as she didn't like telling other people where she worked, for personal reasons.
The morning that she was set to leave, she had her luggage with her, and Narda accompanied her to the front door to see her off. Like a mother going away on a business trip, she brought her index finger in front of Narda's face and proceeded to give a series of indications and rules. "I'll be back soon. Not this Thursday, but the next so please behave. Don't leave a mess in the apartment, and no parties." She knew from watching American shows that the youth liked to throw crazy parties whenever they had the house to themselves.
Narda shook her head, "The last thing I'm going to do is have parties. I don't know anyone here but you." And my co-workers from the primary school, and Byun Baekhyun who wants nothing to do with me.
By this time, the two girls had already been living together for nearly a month, and had become fast friends who would tell each other most things. Though both still kept their secrets. Narda wouldn't tell Nari that she was stalking Byun Baekhyun, and Nari wouldn't tell Narda where she worked or who the mysterious faceless young man was. They liked it that way though, their friendship. Narda wouldn't ask about Nari's secrets and Nari would do the same for Narda.
"Take a picture of The Great Wall for me please. I've always wanted to see it in person and this is probably as close as I'll get." Narda pleaded with a smile on her lips.
Nari rolled her eyes at her flat mate playfully. "For the last time, Narda. We aren't going to the Great Wall. We're going to Hunan, which is near the south of China. The Wall is in the north." A smile formed on her lips as she said, "I'll get you a post card or a key chain from a gift shop, if I can. But I'll be busy with my job all week."
Narda jumped forward and pulled her flat mate in for a hug. "Thank you, Nari. So generous as always. I promise when you come back, I'll be in charge of cooking dinner for a month." The two girls pulled away and Narda wished her friend good luck before seeing her disappear down the hallway.
"A whole week and a half by myself." Narda muttered to herself in the living room of the apartment. "At least that means a whole week and a half to try to get Baekhyun to forgive me, without disturbing Nari."
