5: The Wizard
Jackson called Joker and told him someone was in trouble. Arthur wasn't really in the mood but when he heard The Joker was involved he knew he had to go.
"Pick me up, I'll wait for you by Gotham plaza."
Jackson agreed and quickly rounded up the goons to go and help the woman in need.
The Joker's goons dragged Sarah into an abandoned warehouse as she squirmed and kicked. "Get away from me! SOMEONE HELP ME!"
The Joker then slapped her across her face. Sarah teared up. She was shaking again and so terrified seeing him infront of her.
"Don't hurt me, please."
Gold finally arrived at the abandoned warehouse. He parked up and hurried to find a way in as quickly as he could.
Suddenly he was ambushed by The Joker's goons, "move or teleport and the girl dies!" The goons ordered.
Mr Gold followed their orders and went with them and they took him to The Joker and Sarah. "Dad!" Sarah gasped seeing him when they threw him down.
She ran to him, but The Joker held her back and had a gun at her head.
"Please don't hurt him!" Sarah cried.
"Now why would I?" The Joker then aimed the gun at Mr Gold's head and Sarah started to cry.
"No please don't! He did nothing wrong!" Sarah cried and begged, "I will do anything, just don't hurt him!"
The Joker smirked at her laughing. "So you love the old man? Does he even care about you?" He aims the gun at her.
"No leave her alone!" Mr Gold screamed. "Don't hurt her please!"
"Oh how sweet. I bet she told you about me also. If you have...I will know, and you can watch him die, beautiful."
Sarah shivered and teared up. The Omnitrix wasn't glowing anymore. If hadn't for awhile which meant she couldn't use it.
Everyone was unaware that Joker had arrived and was by the door holding his gun. He had to think a way to get in without the goons seeing him.
He then got an idea.
The goons heard something rolled on the floor out of the room. They walked outside and went to investigate. It was a flash bang.
The Joker heard the noise and growled seeing Joker holding a gun at his head. "Let them go."
"Oh sure!" The Joker snarled and smirked at Joker, "I won't! Maybe the old man, but not the pretty one!"
"You're not hearing me I said LET THEM GO!!" He raised his voice and aimed his gun at his head "I will shoot you, make no mistake about it. I've killed before and it will be a pleasure killing you! You've got until the Clint of three. One......two...."
The Joker growled and threw Sarah down infront of Gold and she hugged Gold crying.
"You just love to ruin my plans? You're no better than me, clown!" The Joker frowned, "if you like my girl, you want me to tell Harleen you are seeing her?"
Joker frowned more, "leave Harley out of this! You don't know me, sicko. Sarah isn't a love interest I hardly know her, or him. I just don't want you hurting innocent people!"
"Hmm I don't know, something tells me otherwise," The Joker smirked, "and this is just a warning, if you ever get into her love life, I will kill you. No one, and I mean no one takes her from me."
"Thanks for the warning," he growled, "I've no interest in getting into your twisted love life."
The Joker then let them go and Mr Gold turned to Joker once they got outside. So this was his son? Now he felt more guilty.
"Are you alright, sir?" he asked Gold, as he handed him his cane which was on the floor, "he threw you down pretty hard."
Mr Gold nodded, "I'm stronger than I look, son," he blushed saying that.
"Joker...can you please not leave," Sarah begged. She really wanted him to talk to Mr Gold.
"We need to leave this place, it gives me the creeps in here. We can go to my hideout if you want?" he offered.
Sarah nodded. She was thankful he wasn't telling them he would take them home.
They finally got to his hideout Sarah and Gold sat down. Sarah sat in a chair so she could get them both sitting by each other. She then motioned Mr Gold to talk to him.
"Uh.....you see, the thing is, son—I mean, Mr Joker, I....I...."
Joker looked at him as he poured himself a tumbler of whiskey, "sorry to interrupt, would either of you care for a drink? I could fix you a water if you don't like whiskey."
Mr Gold shook his head, "no thank you."
"Smoke?" Joker offered as he lit a cigarette.
Mr Gold shook his head again, "no thank you, not for me."
"Sorry, you were saying?"
Mr Gold took a deep breath, "uh.... I was wondering if you'd like to come to dinner....as a way of saying thank you, for saving us."
Joker took a drag on his cigarette and looked thoughtful, "um.....I'm not usually a dinner person, but it would be bad manners for me to refuse your hospitality. So sure why not, thank you."
Sarah sighed, but she could see what he was doing. Belle would want to see him too.
Jackson then came in, "uh, boss, Harleen is on the phone."
Joker sighed, "tell her I'm coming," he then stood up, "please excuse me for a moment," he then stepped out.
Mr Gold sighed, "I'm sorry I couldn't say it, Sarah. I lost my nerve."
"It's ok, you just met him. Maybe bring Belle with you. I'm sure she would love to meet him."
Joker was then was walking to the door with his phone. Sarah was thinking it was her bestie Harley, the second person that saved her from The Joker. But it wasn't. Did she change?? It wasn't her friend Harley.
"Hi, Mr J! I escaped Arkham to see you!" She then threw her arms around him hugging him and then kissed him deeply.
Sarah felt sick to her stomach seeing that woman. Something was off about her, like she was seeing a female version of The Joker himself.
Joker kissed her back awkwardly, "what a surprise! This is my hideout, I'll show you around later....I just have guests right now. Mr Gold and his daughter, Sarah. I helped them out tonight."
"I'm more of a father figure to her. In spirit I adopted her. But she isn't biologically my daughter," he frowned at Harleen. "Harleen Quinnzel. I wonder where you got that name from. Sarah here has a friend by the same exact name."
"Oh really?" Joker was surprised, "what a small world," he turned to Harley and put his arm around her, "do you hear that, darling, another woman with the same name as you," he then kissed her cheek.
"Who this?" Harleen turned to Sarah.
The look in her eyes was the same that The Joker gave her. Not lust. Hatred.
"Just someone Joker knows and saved from a nightmare." Sarah crossed her arms.
"You saved her?" Harleen then laughed, "she isn't that pretty."
"Ok, red flag!" Mr Gold frowned.
"Hey you don't have to insult my guests, honey. To be fair she helped me out the day I escaped Arkham. She caught me, but then let me go....so come on, play nice," he squeezed her.
"Well good thing she did, Jokey here is a sweetheart~~" Harleen then kissed his cheek.
"I...I think we should go." Sarah frowned at Harleen.
Mr Gold nodded. He then handed Joker his pawn shop card, but Harleen grabbed it and read it, "sorry, he doesn't want the job."
"No it's my address to—"
"He DOESN'T want the job." Harleen said sternly crumbling the card and tossed it at him.
"Harley baby, who pissed in your cereal this morning? Mr Gold invited me to dinner is all," he turned to Mr Gold, "sorry about that, she's a bit of a handful. I'll call you," he knew he could get his number as he knew where Sarah worked.
Mr Gold sighed and shook his head, "I don't know if it's best. Your mother wouldn't be comfortable. I am already not, son." He grabbed Sarah's arm and they stormed out.
"Son?" Harleen was confused, "your mother?"
Joker shrugged, "a lot of older guys call younger men son and I don't know. He might've had a bump on the head or something."
