Chaol Westfall (ToG Character) ToG AU x OC {}
Levana's Point of View
It was hard being a lady. Corsets, minding my manners, minding what I ate, minding everything. Being a magical lady was even harder.
What was worse was that I wasn't even a lady, I was a princess. Crown princess of Erilea. I was Dorian Havilliard's twin sister. We had the same black hair, same piercing blue eyes, same want to party, same want to win father's Championship.
Dorian approached it with my newfound friend Celaena Sardothien. I approached it with myself.
Before father even announced the championship I had brought my brother's long time friend, Captain of The Guard, Chaol Westfall, to one side and begged and pleaded with him to train me.
Of course he caved. He always caved with me. No longer did I spend my day's with my mother Georgina who always fretted about Hollin our youngest brother just passing idle time. Instead of donning corsets and gowns I donned on training gear and weapons.
I learned about poisons and weaponry, I learned everything I needed to learn and I was good.
Then Celaena showed up. This made my father doubly displeased. We agreed if it came down to both of us we'd just have to have two champions. Celaena showed me more than Chaol ever could, not surprising since she was an assassin for 9 years.
We had lost time in the library again, Chaol stomped his way through rows and rows of books and Celaena, Nehemia and I look up.
"Hello." I cooed happily and looked back down to my book. Celaena gave him a wry smile and began to read again. He stole our books from us and we both held our daggers out. Nehemia sat and watched.
"You, room." He snarled to Celaena and she glared at him. "Princesses, ball room now." We all roll our eyes and stand together.
"Celaena doesn't go, I don't go." I muttered straightening my back sticking my nose up to him. Nehemia did the same Celaena swaggering behind us.
"Levana, come here please." Chaol called still at our table.
"You can borrow one of my gowns." I whispered to my two friends and they beam scurrying off. I walk back to my male friend and put my hands in my pockets.
"You know it's very unlady like to wear pants and hang around with assassins." I shrug and smirk.
"Chaol, you've watched me drink a whole tavern clean, now that's unlady like." We chuckle and he looks over my shoulders then his making sure no one was around. That's why I chose this spot, because no one ever was.
He cupped my cheek and I leaned into his hand. "I don't want you getting hurt." He whispered and I turned my head kissing his palm.
"I had the best of the best train me and now I have the best of the worst training me." He cocked a brow and I peck his lips.
"You're the best of the good guys so, the best of the best. Celaena is the best of the bad guys so the best of the worst." Chaol let out a small chuckle and shook his head.
"Oh I love you." He muttered chuckling. I smile and kiss him again.
"I love you too." I whisper and he lets go becoming stoic faced again. I place my hands in front of me becoming a lady again. We walk out of the library together and we part at my chamber.
I enter and see Celaena and Nehemia sitting on the edge of my bed like eager dogs. "Well did he confess his undying love?" Celaena teased and I rolled my eyes taking off my shirt and pants.
"He scolded me about being unlady like and yes, Celaena can go if you're not late." I quote and they smile. I bring out three corsets and throw two to the bed. "Philippa!" I cried and mine and Celaena's maid comes scurrying from the bathroom.
She strips me off and tightens my corset to the point where I can't breathe. I pick out a blood red gown with a deep neck line and skinny straps. I put on a pair of crimson heels I owned and threw a light blue gown at Nehemia and a green and gold gown at Celaena.
"Can we switch?" Celaena pouted and I freeze. I forgot about Terrasen.
"Yes, of course." I smile. "I just threw them at random." I lie and they buy it. Magic had been gone for years, yet mine was awake, Dorian's still slept and Celaena's, well hers slept with one eye open.
The three of us ladies walked into the ball room late and I winked at Chaol. He gave me a glare but still looked me over. I smirked and took a seat next to my brother. Nehemia sitting next to Lady Kaltain, the poor girl, and Celaena next to me.
The feast was brought out before us and I dug in. "Terribly sorry we're late father a seam in my dress tore and it took a while to fix." I lie and he smiles at me reaching behind Dorian to play with my curls.
"It's quite alright darling." He purred and I gave him my sweetest smile and began eating again.
"Daddy's favourite hey?" Celaena whispered and I shrug.
"It has its perks." I whispered back and she smiled. Once supper, dessert and the tables was all cleared away father clapped his hands and the orchestra began.
I walk over to my father and curtsy. "May I have this dance?" He smiled though it seemed strained and walked out to the dance floor with me. I held his hand and he laid his hand on my waist.
"I remember when you were only a small child and I used to have you on my toes dancing." He whispered and I smiled nodding.
"Though, I suppose it would hurt tonight." I joked and he nodded. After a few spins and twirls he waved over Chaol.
"My boy, you're much younger than me, she quite fancies you as well," I blush and smile. Oh, more than you know father. "My old bones can't dance like they could, take over?" Father asked and Chaol gave him a stiff nod and a salut.
"Of course your majesty." My father pat him on the back and went to sit with my mother. Chaol laid his hand on my waist and brought me a bit closer to his chest than my father had.
I smile interlocking our fingers. "So how are you Captain?" I teased and he gave me a soft smile his hazel eyes softening.
"Out of all the lordship your father chose me to dance with you." I smile and kiss his cheek. "I feel ecstatic darling."
I beamed my smile reaching ear to ear. "You should tell your father to retaliate against Adarlan, and then to cool the tension I'll propose we have an alliance wedding instead of slaughtering him." He twirled me around and his hazel eyes shone with glee.
"Not a bad plan indeed, my princess." He whispered and I melted. My heart was too full of his love and the smile never went away.
The song ended and I curtsied to Chaol and he bowed to me. Dorian sauntered up to me and took my hands.
We began a quick waltz and we forgot all the steps just dancing how we wanted to like we were kids. Spins where there were no spins. Little jigs when it was a waltz. Dorian was the best to have fun with. "Did father tell you?" He grinned. I roll my eyes.
"You're such a gossiper. You've been spending too much time with mother." I tease and he glares.
"There's a special announcement tonight!" He beamed glee shining through his smile and eyes.
"A marriage proposal." My feet halt. My stomach did ten thousand flips. My skin got goose bumbs and my jaw dropped.
"Who?" I whispered not wanting to speak in case my voice cracked. Dorian shrugged still grinning.
"I'm not sure, but father said after the second dance, it would be time." I looked around, I had to get out, the doors were baracaded, the windows were far to high to jump from, and would be hard to jump through, and if I jumped from the balcony I was sure to break my leg.
I was stuck. I was trapped just like a mouse in a cats claws. I look around trying to find Chaol and I see him glowering at Celaena who was trying to have a civil conversation with him.
Our eyes met and he smiled. My heart shattered.

Chaol's POV
"You should tell your father to retaliate against Adarlan, and then to cool the tension I'll propose we have an alliance wedding instead of slaughtering him." I twirled Levana around smiling.
"Not a bad plan indeed, my princess." I whispered. I look into her blue eyes and how I itched to kiss her. How close she was to knowing that a wedding between us was so close. When the dance ended I gave her a bow.
I walked over to a pillar and Celaena swaggered up to me. "Dorian told me." She began glaring at me. I glowered.
"Better not mess it up. She really loves you." I roll my eyes. I knew that. I look up and see Levana dancing with Dorian. My eyes find hers and I give her a smile. She looks away again and I sigh.
"I just hope big mouth doesn't ruin it." I mutter, Celaena cracks a smile amd shakes her head.
"Me too." The song ended and the king clapped his hands before another could begin.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" He called faking a wide smile. "Will everyone but my only daughter leave the dance floor?" Everyone cleared away quickly leaving Levana alone.
She looked frightened. "There comes a time in a young girls life when she needs a new man in her life, she's no longer a little girl who needs her father, but a young woman who needs a husband. I am overjoyed at who wishes to betrothe my daughter." I smile and reach into my pocket feeling the small velvet box.
I step forward and Levana's head whips to me. Her eyes flood with relief and tears. Her hands fly up to her mouth to cover a sob.
I look around at the faces surrounding us and smile. I look back to her and I grab her hand.
I fall to one knee and kiss her knuckles. "Levana," I begin. "I don't have much to offer you, I am just but a guard of the royal family." She gives a small laugh.
"That's a lot." She whispers. I smile and kiss her hand again.
"I have no title, but I wish for you to give me one." I take a deep breath and hold the ring out. The room takes a deep breath and Levana's eyes lock with mine.
"Chaol you didn't?" She gasped and shook her head trying not to smile. We went to the market one day and she seen this silver ring with a large sapphire in it, she loved it but we had to move on.
"I've been saving money ever since." She smiles now and holds out her hand.
"I would love to marry you." The crowd erupted in cheers and whistles. The royal family began clapping as I slide the ring onto her finger. I stand up picking her up by the waist and spun her around.
I gave a chuckle putting her down. I brought her close and kissed her. "I love you Levana." I murmur against her lips.
She beams up at me. "I love you too Chaol."
