Chapter 7

Bucky?

Did he just say Bucky? She had to have heard wrong! Or it had to have been a different Bucky! How had she not put the pieces together earlier? She should have known when she had caught a glimpse of his face! She had always been interested in him, what had happened to him in his life. She had researched him most of her life, ever since she heard about him.Ever since she found out he wasn't just a ghost story.

And now, he was standing right in front of her. In her house. Seemingly waiting for her to further question him.

She was both shocked and scared. She very well knew what he was capable of, he had an impressive record. But there was another question she needed answered first.

"Why, of all places, did you run here, to Romania, I mean?" She tried to sound calm, but her voice was shaking. Who couldn't tell? His eyes stared into her soul, and made her feel slightly uncomfortable. "I thought this would be a quiet place, turns out, the people here know about me too, I'm running out of options." He then took his left hand out of his pocket. She tensed when he did, expecting him to lash out and take a shot at killing them. Instead, his hand was empty. The metal glittered as he twisted his wrist. There was no flesh and bones, just metal. So it was true. Everything that had happened. Most people on the internet had called him a myth, just someone to blame for all these people's deaths. But now, finally, people were beginning to realize that he did exist. Nobody had really met him face to face.

Or anybody that the people knew.

Steve had seen him. That day, on the bridge. He fought him even. On the helicarier. Steve was in the hospital because of it. It wasn't a lie, it had happened. She would know.

She was there, in person. It had only been a year ago, maybe less. She was another one of Cap's helpers. Not that anyone knew about her efforts besides her teammates. Not even her dad knew. He would most certainly kill her if he found out. She had been another undercover person, in the room where Sharron was trying to stop the launching of the rouge helicariers. She was there, shooting down the bad agents, along with everyone else. She had ran after stragglers, shot anyone that shot back, saved agents lives. She saw Bucky, plunge into the water when Steve fell. She watched him pull him ashore, then run off. She didn't stop him. After she knew he was gone, she called for an ambulance for Steve. Not even Steve knew this piece of information. As far as she knew, he was still there, sleeping, recovering himself.

"Sarah, are you okay, you look pale?" Her father snapped her out of her thoughts of the past. Probably for the best, anyways. "I'm fine" Sarah didn't dare say anything else. "I have a question, for you Clint" Bucky's voice filled up the small space. "Sure, ask away" Her father responded. "Is it okay if I..." he trailed off, as if he already knew the answer would be no. "What, ask me, you may get a different answer then you expect" Her father was so sweet, sometimes he was just too nice. "I need a place to stay, just to sleep" Of course. Where was really going to go, a hotel? Anybody would recognize him in a heartbeat. She was slightly hesitant to this idea. Her father was a different story. "Of course, as long as you need!" Clint smiled, then gave him a quick hug. "I have to go to the store, so I will let you two properly meet each other" Then her father left, leaving her in a very awkward situation.

They began talking, slowly becoming friends. if it was even possible, maybe something more then just friends.

They would become family.

Hello!  I had to clarify this chapter with this last sentance because some people think I'm trying to ship Sarah and Bucky. ABSOLUTELY NOT! That would be pretty weird, considering the age difference. I only meant they became like a family, but I didn't really clarify that too well. Whoops! Sorry for the misunderstanding! Enjoy the rest!
