Jack drives up to the curb and gets out of the car. He's late for the Senate hearing that started at 8 am.

"What time is it" he whispers. He looks down at his black watch that matches with his tie.

8:30 am the watch reads.

He mutters a curse word out of his mouth as he gets into the building.

"This is why we need to invest more funds into education. Our children are the future and cannot..." senator Brown stops speaking as Jack shuffles through the door and into the building.

Jack says nothing and tries to make as little noise as possible while sitting down. His backs been acting up recently but he didn't want others to know, so he kept a poker face. And he was definitely not one to complain, something a lot of his close friends and acquaintances have come to admire about him.

As Jack sits down and everyone returns their attention to senator Brown, he continues.

"With a subpar budget our country will suffer as we will not have enough people prepared for university and to enter the workforce."

With that everyone got up and clapped while senator Brown made his way to his seat not far from Jack.

"Are you ok?" A worried Meyer Brown asked Jack.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah I'm fine don't worry about me." Jack replied

Jack sure was something to look at. He was 6'0 with a slim build and good looks. The fact that he was still single drove all of the women crazy. The most eligible senator everyone said of him. Jack smiled as he liked the attention, he liked the attention a lot. However, he did feel an emptiness inside. He wanted to settle down, you know, experience what his peers were experiencing. He recalled Bobby would be getting married soon, as well as a few of his buddies from the senate next year. "Maybe it is time I found a nice woman" he thought "but how will I do that? I want someone who wants me, not the Kennedy name" he thought.

He looked at his watch and it was 9:30 am.

"Wow time really does fly by I guess as they say" he mumbled under his breath as senator Brown overheard him and slapped his arm.

Jack just looked back and smiled that million dollar smile of his.
