August 1950

By now Bobby was married to Ethel -and he was a happy man. Jack was happy for him. Jack and Bobby were as thick as thieves. Jack was also happy to be out of the hospital and resting at home, he couldn't do much but he was enjoying the warm summer air. He called Sarah a week after he got out the hospital and learned a lot about her.

Her father died in WWII, the mom passed from cancer. She had two other siblings. Two brothers. She was the oldest. She was originally from New York, which prompted him to give Sarah the nickname sky short for skyscraper. She laughs every time he says it as she knows it's ridiculous. But she has to admit she's fallen for him. He invited her to Bobby's wedding not as a plus one but as a friend. She was shocked at the offer since they had just meet up she showed up in a beautiful blue dress and spent the whole night dancing with Jack. He was a happy man.

He wanted to write a letter but didn't know what to say. So he just started with "dear Sarah" he figured to rest would come to him eventually so he left it be. He placed the letter on the table before joined his brothers for the first time in months on the porch.

During this time Sarah called him and he didn't pick up, so she left a message.

"Hi Jack, it's me. I just wanted to know how you're busy but please when you get a chance call me back. I miss hearing you and your Boston accent. Sarah"
And with the she hung up the receiver and turned on the television trying to find something good to watch.

Teddy, Jack and Bobby were all outside on the porch basking the summer sun.

"What's married life like?" Teddy asked Bobby
"Oh is cool, really cool. You're never really lonely."
Jack hummed at that last statement
"What was that?" Bobby asked
Jack was enamored with Sarah and she was always on his mind. He didn't know how or why he just knew she was.

" oh nothing" Jack replied
Teddy and Bobby knew something was up with Jack and but they couldn't figure it out. They just let it be.

Sarah decided to send Jack a picture of her and him together at the wedding. She was wearing the blue dress he liked so much and Jack was wearing morning dress suit. She smiled at it. They were too cute together. She got an envelope to send it to him.
