Sans' POV
"Lo... Love you... Love you!"
"What'd ya say?"
"Love you!"
"Heh. I love you to kiddo..."
"Fo...Forget?"
"Never."
~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·
"Sans... Sans..? Sans!"
I snapped out of my thoughts as I looked around and saw all of my friends staring at me.
"BROTHER ARE YOU OKAY?" My brother, Papyrus, asked.
Undyne invited Papyrus, Alphys, and I to her house to hang out. We were sitting in her living room around her little coffee table, drinking some Golden Flower tea that Undyne had prepared. They continued to stare at me, waiting for an answer.
I rubbed the back of my neck and chuckled nervously.
"Ya everything's fine bro." I replied, trying to put on a convincing smile.
"YOU CAN NOT LIE TO THE GREAT PAPYRUS, BROTHER!" Papyrus said.
"He just misses the little punk, Pap." Undyne said, taking a sip of her tea.
"It h-has been a ye-year and a h-h-half since w-we've seen Frisk." Alphys added, looking at her teacup as she lightly swirled it around. "I still don't understand how she escaped..."
I felt something inside of me break a little when Alphys said her name. Its true, its been so long since we've seen her. I remember Alphys reaction when I visited her lab in the morning, freaking out as she looked inside the giant aquarium. I didn't wanna tell her what that I set her free, I knew she would freak out even more, so I kept it a mystery from the others.
I miss her. I guess I got accustomed to seeing her everyday, but I kept coming back to Aphys lab for a week strait, forgetting that I had set her free. Alphys didn't mind that I kept visiting her, but she was still disappointed that she couldn't continue her research on mermaids. Its odd to be at home just being lazy on the couch again, not being in the cold lab sitting next to a giant glass talking to the most beautiful creature I've ever met.
I really miss her. I miss talking to her, joking with her, being with her, hearing her laugh, seeing her smile, her innocent and childish behavior. I miss how warm she felt when she first tackled me in a hug. I miss everything about her. But I knew I couldn't keep her trapped in the aquarium. After a while I started to walk by the beach every night whenever the beach was empty, hoping I would see her again... I never did.
I hadn't realize how much I cared about her, until she was gone. I fell for her hard.
"Sans! Your spacing out again!" Undyne exclaimed as she stood in front of me and shaking me.
"Heh, heh. Sorry guys." I say, avoiding eye contact.
"You really d-do miss her... Do-don't you?" Alphys softly said, put a hand on my back.
I sighed, giving a small nod.
I was then picked up and pulled into a tight embrace by Papyrus. "YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE SAD ANYMORE DEAR BROTHER. FOR WE, YOUR FRIENDS, WILL BE HERE FOR YOU! NYEH, HEH, HEH, HEH, HEH!" He encouraged.
"Hey I know you miss her, but I wanted to invite you guys somewhere so Sans wouldn't be all sad." Undyne said, sitting back down.
"I'm fine guys, don't worry. So where we going today?" I smile, facing my fishy friend as Papyrus set me down.
"I know this is a stupid place to go since were trying to make you feel better, but there's this awesome new aquarium that just opened today in the city. Actually its a few blocks away from the beach and they say there's a really awesome attraction that I really wanna see, I hear that its gonna be mind blowing!"
"Undyne I don't th-think that's a good p-place to-"
"No its fine Alphys. It sounds like a good place to me." I started to grin.
"That's the spirit!" Undyne playfully slapped my back.
"THEN ITS SETTLED! WE SHALL GO TO THE AQUARIUM THAT UNDYNE IS TALKING ABOUT!" Papyrus exclaimed happily.
~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·
"This p-place is h-huge!" Alphys stared at the building in awe.
We had just arrived and entered the gigantic building. The place wasn't as crowded as we thought it would be, but there were a fairly descent amount of people that came to the new aquarium none the less. The conversations of people were mostly about the big attraction. We walked up to a map that showed the layout of the whole buildings.
"Let's go over here!" Undyne pointed to a spot on the map. "This is the place where they keep the most dangerous sea creatures in the world!"
"I'd r-rather not. Can w-w-we s-see the attraction th-thing you s-said to us?" Alphys pointed to a different part of the map, clearly not wanting to go over to see all the dangerous creatures.
"I'm with Alphys on this one. I'm kinda interested to see what it is." I say, putting my hands in my jacket pockets.
"Fine. Let's meet up later for lunch. Com on Papyrus! Your coming with me!"
Undyne grabbed his arms and quickly dragged him away. Alphys and I looked at each other and smiled a little as we watched the fleeing duo run to the dangerous aquatic animals section. I tapped Alphys' shoulder and pointed to the other direction to head over to the main attraction of this newly opened aquarium. She nodded and we started to walk. As we walked over we would see many different kinds of fish swimming around the different tanks, every once and a while Alphys would talk about the fishes that we pass by. I don't mean to be rude, but I wasn't really listening that much. I looked around the aquarium and couldn't help but be reminded of the sweet little mermaid.
"Were here!" Alphys said happily.
We stopped walking and saw a gigantic red curtain draped down, probably covering a gigantic aquarium hidden behind it. There was a big crowed in front of the curtain, the loud and excited chitchats of everyone who was there filled the room. Alphys and I decided to stay a few distance away from the crowd and just watched from a distance, we both leaned against a wall. A few minutes later a person wearing a uniform walked up in front and grabbed a microphone.
"Ladies and gentlemen! I wanna thank you all for coming here today." The speaker said.
The crowd clapped and cheered loudly in response, while Alphys and I just casually clapped and smiled.
"Now I don't wanna bored you all with some speech, so I'll just show you all what you came here for. Behind this curtain is a creature like no one has seen before! A very rare sea creature that no one has seen before in a very long time! We were lucky enough to find this creature in the far ends of the ocean, but we were surprised to see how close it actually was to the city ocean." The speaker rambled. "And here it is!"
"Oh I'm so excited!" Alphys started to get all giddy.
He walked over to the a rope and pulled it, causing the curtains to part away from each other, revealing a large aquarium that was so much bigger than the one Alphys has in her lab. The aquarium is filled with sand at the bottom of the tank, many different fishes, many colorful corals, and giant rocks around the area. What caught my attention was the creature that was right in the middle of the aquarium. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped.
No it couldn't...
A beautiful little mermaid with chocolate brown hair that reaches right below her shoulders, hazel brown eyes, a bright red long fish tail, a blue shirt with purple stripes and the sleeves ripped of, and a pearl necklace with a red heart locket. It was Frisk.
I looked over to Alphys and she had the same expression as me. She then looked up at me and said quietly.
"I-is that..?"
I looked back without an answer, completely speechless, my eye sockets focused on the mermaid. The crowd let out gasps or cheered loudly and clapping excitedly, causing the mermaids eyes to widen and rapidly swim behind a rock. Then two divers suddenly swam into view. One diver was holding a few things like a hop, while the other diver grabbed Frisk's arm and forced her to come out. Frisk struggled to pry her arm out and she looked to be in a lot of pain. My hands balled up into a fist as my right eye eye socket turned pitch black and my left eye lightly glowing cyan blue, a scowl forming on my face.
What is she doing here? How did anyone find her? What are they doing to her?!
The diver let go of Frisk once they reached the middle of the tank. Frisk's hazel eyes nervously scanned the audience, shifting back and fort. Suddenly one of the divers brought out a whip, causing Frisk to whimper and swim over to the other diver. She started doing many different tricks, the crowd cheering as she did them, but whenever she'd mess up one of the divers would hit her. My left eye was now glowing bright cyan blue, my eye twitching. How. Dare. They. DO THAT TO HER!
I then felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned to my side and saw Alphys give me a look of sympathy, rubbing my back. I sighed deeply, my eye socket slowly turning back to normal. This went on for a few minutes until they announced that the show was over. I was about to rush in when Alphys tugged on my sleeves, shaking her head and gesturing to the crowd. People started to crowed around the tank, watching Frisk, taking pictures, and excitedly chatting with one another. We waited for a long time until the crowd lessened and no one was paying much attention to her anymore. I immediately teleported Alphys and I over to the gigantic aquarium. We saw Frisk sitting on a rock, head hung low and her back turned towards us. Alphys lightly nudged my arm.
I took a deep breath and walked to the glass. Something was thumping in my chest as I lightly knocked on the glass.
"Knock, knock kiddo... Its me."
Her head instantly shot up and she turned around. Her wide hazel brown eyes met my white eye sockets and her face immediately lit up. She swiftly swam towards me and placed her hands on the glass, smiling her dazzling smile. I placed my bony hands on her hands on top of hers, smiling back at her. My smile faded away once I noticed a small scratch on her right cheek, and a few scratches on her hands, arms, and fish tail.
"Kiddo what happened to ya?" I asked, really concerned.
She started to moving her lips, but I couldn't hear what she was saying.
"I can't hear ya." I say.
She swam to the bottom of the aquarium and scribbled on the sand. She drew what looked to be a set of stairs, then she pointed to the left of me. I turned to look and saw a flight of stairs heading upwards. I turned to look back at Frisk and nodded.
"Come on Al." I gestured for Alphys to follow me.
"O-oh okay." She quickly follows me.
We both headed up the stairs until we reached the top, revealing some more aquariums and the top of the huge aquarium that contained Frisk, blocked of by fences. There were two workers guarding a fence gate.
"Sans l-look."
Alphys pointed to a poster on a wall. We walked over to the poster that had a picture of Frisk and some information.
"It s-s-says that yo-you can swim with h-her for twenty m-minutes for... Thirty-five do-dollars?!" Alphys says, adjusting her eyeglasses. "Thats kinda ex-e-expensive."
"I don't care! We have to talk to her!" I exclaim.
"Alrighty th-then, but I think y-you sh-should be the one t-to go since she only t-tr-trust you." Alphys suggested.
I nodded as we walked over to those two workers. I paid them the thirty-five bucks and they opened the fence gate on guided me on to a small looking dock. I took of my jacket and fuzzy slippers, sat down letting my feet dangle in the water. Before I could dive in the workers gave me some sort of earpiece to put on and explained to me that it was to help me hear and understand Frisk since I would be swimming underwater. I glanced over to Alphys as she gives me a thumbs up and I gave her back a thumbs up then dived into the water. I slowly descended down the water, as I looked around the aquarium while fish swimming around. This felt like an actual ocean with all the different fishes that swam around and the many different corals, seaweed, and rocks. When I finally reached the bottom-
"SANS!"
I turned around and was tackled to the ground, lying on my back. I was still recovering from the fall when I felt someone's arms wrapped around my neck tightly as a familiar soft pair of lips pressed against my teeth. When I finally recovered I saw Frisk on top of me as continues to she kiss me. My eye sockets turned into hearts as my eyes started to shut and I wrapped my arms around her neck, bringing her closer to me, my face glowing blue. When we pulled away I sat up and she sat on my lap, her arms still wrapped around my neck as she nuzzled her head on my neck. I wrapped my right arm around her waist, supporting her back.
"Mi... M-miss you!" She said happily, still struggling a little to say words, but she sounded better.
"I missed you too, kiddo." I say, placing my head on her soft silky chocolate brown hair.
"L-love you! Love you!" She looked up at me and kissed my cheekbone.
"I love you too." I place my teeth on her forehead, giving her a little peck.
We stayed like that for a minute or two, just enjoying each others company. I then looked at her seriously. I used my free hand, placed it on her right cheek and used my thumb to gently rub her scratch. She flinched a little and I immediately pulled my hand away. I hugged her closer to me.
"Now tell me, what happened to ya?" I asked, gently stroking her hair.
She lowered her head and just nuzzled closer to me, shaking her head. She won't tell me. I placed my hand on her chin and lifted her head, making her look at me as I stare at her intently, determined to get answers.
"C'mon kiddo, ya have to tell me." I say sternly, using my thumb and gently rubbing her cheek again. "Please."
She stared back at me as the bottom of her lip started to quiver. She then started to cry softly, burying her face in my chest. My face fell as I continued to stroke her hair, my soul feeling like it was just stabbed with a knife as I saw how upset she was. She continued to softy cry, her breathing becoming unsteady. I cradled her gently as she tries to calm down.
"Shh... Its okay, its okay. I'm here now." I softly whisper to her.
I can hear her breathing starting to calm down, she frankly rubbed her eyes as she sniffled. She kept opening and closing her mouth as she try and say something, but she seemed to be struggling to get the words out. She shut her mouth and looked at me, removing her necklace and placed it around my neck. She closed her eyes, her eyebrows furrowing. Suddenly her heart pendant started to glow bright red as she placed her warm hand on my cheekbone.
"Can you here me Sans?"
A familiar sweet and gentle voice said in my head. I gazed down at Frisk with my eyes wide, her eyes still shut and her warm hand still on my cheekbone, her lips not moving.
"Frisk?"
Her eyes shot opened as she smiled brightly, her eyes practically shimmering with stars. Without warning she embraced me tightly, the sudden abrupt impact causing me to fall backwards and lean back against a rock while she gave me a peck on my cheekbone.
"I'm so happy you can finally hear me!"
Frisk said gleefully as she laid beside me, snuggling closer to me, her face starting to redden. I gladly hug back. How is she doing this? Is the necklace?
"So can you explain what your doing here in this aquarium?" I requested.
"Oh yes I can." She paused for a moment before she started to explain, resting her head on my shoulder. "I... I wanted to see you again."
"What?" I stare at her, taken back from what she said.
"I wanted to see you again. I really missed you. So I swam back to the beach and t-there were these three hu-humans males th-t-that were walking by th-the beach. I... I asked them i-if... I-if they knew you and they s-s-said they did a-and that they c-co-could help me." She begun. "They l-lifted me up f-from the water and... A-and..." She her hands gripped my shirt tightly. "Th-they brought m-m-me here and so-sold m-me be-b-before the o-opening of this 'a-aquarium' thing." She continued, a small sob escaped her lips.
"They... T-they kept hu-hu-hurting me... Shouting... Demanding f-for m-m-me to-too do tr-trick... I... I..." Frisk's started to breath heavily again, covering her face with her hands. "I couldn't do anything! I... I..."
Her eyes widen as she started hyperventilating, her hands gripping the top of her hair. I hugged her tightly, doing my best to relax her as I brushed the strands of her hair that were flowing to her face. I hadn't realize that my left eye had started to glow cyan blue again as I continued to hug her protectively. Why do humans have to so cruel sometimes? Those humans took advantage of her inability to move out of water and used her innocents to their advantage.
"I... I wanna g-go home..." She quietly said, calming down as she hugged me.
"Well that's simple enough." I say, ginning my usual grin.
She looked up at me, confused. I patted her head.
"What? Did ya think I'm just gonna leave ya here, kiddo?" I ruffled her hair.
"You'll bring me home?" She smiled hopefully.
"Easy as Cinnamon Butterscotch Pie." I wink.
"What is a... Cinnamon Butterscotch Pie?" She asks, tilting her head.
I chuckle at how cute her innocents was as I gave her a little kiss on her cheek. Her face reddened as she buried her face on my chest, completely flustered. Suddenly my earpiece started beeping, startling me and Frisk.
"Hello? Sir can you hear me?" A voice came from the earpiece.
"What's up?" I answered back, holding the earpiece as Frisk looked up at me, worriedly.
"We would like to inform you that twenty minutes is up and that you must surface up as soon as possible." The voice informed me.
I quickly glace at Frisk and she shook her head, gripping my arm. I sighed and shot her a reassuring look. I hadn't realize that twenty minutes had pass by, that was quick.
"Roger that." I responded as the earpiece beeped again.
Frisk continued to grip my arm tightly as I removed her necklace. I put her necklace around her neck and kissed her forehead. She looked up at me and just stared at me with pleading eyes, clearly not wanting me to leave. I didn't wanna leave her either, but what choice do I have? My left eye glowed blue as I used my magic to carefully pry her of me, surrounding her in a blue hue. She kept trashing around as I got up and swam towards her. When I finally reached her, she grabbed me and brought me closer her, pressing her lips against my teeth with her eyes shut. My eye sockets slowly started to turn back to its normal white, stopping my magic as they started to shut. I wrapped my arms around her waist as she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling her closer. Soon we pulled away. I looked at her one last time before I left.
"Tonight." I whispered, before teleporting away.
~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·~·
"I c-can't be-believe your actually d-d-doing this." Alphys says fearfully.
We were all back at Undyne's place, sitting around her coffee table once again at 12:52 pm. I explained to Undyne and Papyrus what had happened while they were exploring the white sharks, jellyfishes, and other dangerous sea creatures.
"Your so stupid for doing this." Undyne remarked, crossing her arms.
"I AGREE. BROTHER THIS IS UNSAFE FOR YOU TO BE DOING!" Pap agreed.
I beamed confidently as I stood up, my bony hands in my jacket pockets. "Like I told you guys before, easy as Cinnamon Butterscotch Pie." I then gave them a small salute as I I winked. "Meet ya guys at the beach."
I quickly teleported to the aquarium, but instead of in front of the aquarium like I had done in the past, I teleported right inside the aquarium. I was then surrounded by a body of water as I slowly started to descend to the aquarium sea floor. I was right in front of the glass when I noticed a ray of light illuminate from a corner as it got closer and closer. I immediately ducked for cover behind a few rocks. I peek from behind the rock and see a person in a security guard outfit, holding a flashlight as he started to examine the area. I stayed behind the rocks, holding my breath, until he walked over to the next room. Before I could heave out a sigh of relief, I felt a pair of arms hugged me from behind as I felt someone snuggle up against my back and a soft childish giggle rang in my ear. I grinned as I reached out my hand and patted Frisk's head from behind me.
"Sup kiddo. You ready?" I questioned.
"Mhmm!" She agreed, swimming in front of me.
I wrapped one of my arms around her waist, pulling her closer to me as my left eye started glowing cyan blue. "Brace yourself, kiddo."
In a blink of an eye, we were teleported to the beach and quickly carried Frisk bridal style, making sure she didn't fall over as she wrapped her arms around my neck. I see the others waving at us from a few feet away from us, smiling. I see Frisk smile brightly as she gestured for me to walk over to them. So we walked over to them and once we were a close to them I used my magic and levitated Frisk over to Alphys, Frisk's arms stretched out. She hugged the little scientist as I finally reached the others, surprising the little dinosaur. Alphys shyly hugged back, a small smile on her face, as they let go I lifted her over to Papyrus and she hugged him to.
"WOWIE SANS! LOOK! THE MERMAID IS GIVING ME A HUG OF ACCEPTANCE!" Papyrus exclaimed cheerfully, returning Frisk's hug.
After she hugged my brother I levitated her to our fishy friend. Undyne looked uncomfortable as Frisk happily hug her. She then sighed as she rubbed the mermaids head.
"Whoa there. What's with the sudden affection? Last I checked you avoided me like a prey hiding from their predator." She chuckled as she ruffled her hair.
Frisk then let go and turned around to face me, her arms stretched out as she smiled expectantly at me. I smiled back and brought her over to me and embraced her tightly as she nuzzled closer to me. I started to stroke her soft chocolate brown hair as I held back the tears that were threatening to fall, my grip tightening around her. As we pulled away I levitated her away, about levitate her over to the seawater, but then she held my hand and looked at me, a confused look on her face.
"Home?" She tilted her head.
"She spoke!" Alphys gasped.
"We're here now at the beach, aren't we?" I smiled sadly.
She shook her head. I brought her back over to me and carried her bridal style.
"What's the matter, kiddo?" I asked.
"H-home... Home w-w-with you!" She smiled happily.
I looked at her, completely puzzled. What? She can't stay with us, if she stays with us she'll probably be found eventually, and she's a mermaid, she can't really stay with us because someone will eventually find her. She also has a family somewhere out in the ocean, as much I wish she could stay with us, I can't just take her away from her family.
"Look kiddo, we can't keep you. Your family must be worried sick."
"F-famy... Fa-fa-fami kn-know I h-here." She says, her smile wavering a bit.
"Even so, kiddo. Someone will find ya eventually. We can't risk ya being found again." I looked at her strait in the eye, seriously.
"Home with you!" Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked back at me, her face clearly annoyed.
"H-he's right Fr-Frisk." Alphys spoke, coming closer to us and placing a hand on her shoulder as Undyne and Papyrus came closer too. "You c-c-co-could be c-caught by someone mu-much worse th-than those p-people in the a-a-aquarium."
Frisk shook her head violently as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "Home w-with Sans!"
"Look here punk. I agree with the skeleton here, you will be in trouble if someone finds you and none of us wants that." Undyne affirmed.
"YES MERMAID. WE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO BE FOUND." Papyrus said.
"Why. Don't. Under... stand? Home. With. You!" With every word she said, she hit my chest in frustration as she shut her eyes tightly as a tears started to escape her eyes.
My soul felt like it was slowly starting to crack as I stared at her and at how much she really wanted to stay with me. I hugged her closer to me, running my bony hand through her hair as she looked at the other, pleadingly.
"D-do s-so-somethin? A-anthin?" Frisk begs, looking at Alphys.
Alphys seemed to think for a moment, looking up at the sky, then her eyes widened a bit as she looked back at her.
"I mi-m-might be a-able to do so-something... B-b-b-but its n-not sa-safe." Alphys responded, hesitantly, as she looked unsure.
Frisk's hazel brown eyes glimmered with hope and she smiled hopefully as she nodded. I looked at Alphys uncertainly as I held Frisk a little more protectively. I know Alphys won't intentionally hurt Frisk, but she said that whatever she wants to do to her wasn't safe and I don't wanna risk anything happening to her. Alphys noticed my worried face and shot me a reassuring look and a thumbs up, smiling. I sighed and nodded, teleporting us all back to the lab in Alphys' living room.
"O-okay. Sans p-please st-s-stay right here w-with Frisk while U-Undyne, Papyrus, an-and I set up o-one of my ma-ma-machines."Alphys requested, gesturing for me to sit down on one of her sofas.
I obliged and sat down on one of the couches, setting Frisk down on my lap as she cuddled up closer to me, her eyes shut as she yawns. Alphys gestured for Undyne and Papyrus to follow her to the next room and they followed. A few minutes later I heard light snoring. I looked down at Frisk and saw her sleeping soundly, a small smile on her face. I smiled a little as I brushed some strands of her chocolate brown hair out of her face and placed my teeth on her forehead, giving her a little peck. A few more minutes pass when Alphys then entered back in the room. She looked at me and nodded, signaling for me to enter the room. I entered the room revealing a big computer that was connected to some sort of machine with a chair inside of it. I stared at the machine petrified for Frisk. The machine was emitting some steam as weird cling clang noises can be heard from the inside. Frisk started to stir as her eyes slowly opened.
"What is this?" I asked Alphys.
Frisk sleepily looked around the room, but her eyes widen as she saw the machine in front of her.
"Using m-my re-re-research on h-h-humans, I might b-be able to ma-make her human. O-or at least t-transform h-h-h-her fish tail in-i-into human l-legs, m-ma-making her appear h-human. The thing i-is there mi-might be some side e-e-ef-effects..." Alphys explained, walking over to the computer.
"Wh-what are the s-side effects..?" I asked, nervously.
"That's w-why I said i-i-it was un-unsafe. I... I'm not s-sure of what t-t-t-the side effects might b-be..." She said, shakily as she adjusted her eyeglasses.
I felt much more terrified know that Alphys didn't even know what could happen to Frisk if we even tried to step into the machine. Frisk on the other hand was beaming happily as she stared at the machine in amazement and awe, her eyes practically sparkling. She looked up at me and tugged at the rim of my shirt and pointed to the machine.
"Are ya s-sure ya wanna do this, k-kiddo?" I asked.
She nodded, determination filling her eyes.
"C'mon Sans! You can trust Al, remember? She knows what she's doing!" Undyne said, confidently.
"SHE IS AFTER ALL THE GREAT DOCTOR ALPHYS!" Papyrus agreed.
I finally caved in and nodded my head in approval. Their right, I can trust Alphys, I just hope nothing bad happens to Frisk.
My left eye glowed its usual cyan blue as I used my magic to carefully levitate Frisk over to the chair that was located inside the machine. Before I lifted her out of my grip she gazed up at me and gave me a little peck on my cheekbone then looked at me with a comforting look. I nodded back and started to levitate her over to the strange machine. As I sat her down on the chair I can see that Frisk was getting a little tense, but kept a sweet smile on her face as she started to fiddle with her fingers. Once she was seated my eyes faded back to its normal white while Alphys begun to press some buttons and turning some knobs, causing the machine's door to close. As soon as the door fully closed Alphys started to press some more buttons and pulled a switch, making the machine emit more steam and the weird noises became louder as the machine started to shake a little. Lights on the machine started to blink as the machine continued to work its magic while all of us just watch whatever was about to happen.
A minute or two later all the lights on the machine stopped blinking and all stayed on as a little ding can be heard from it. Alphys hurriedly pressed a few buttons and turned a few knobs and the door opened, steam pouring out from the inside. We all anxiously waited for the steam to fade away, all eyes focused on the machine. Soon the steam faded away revealing Frisk with her hazel brown eyes shut tight as she covered her face with her hands. We all stared at her with wide eyes.
"I-i-it... I-it w-w-worked..!" Alphys exclaimed.
Frisk still wore her already torn up blue and purple striped sleeveless shirt and pearl necklace with its heart locket, but now her tail was replaced with human legs wearing a pair of red shorts and red slippers. Upon hearing does words Frisk opened her eyes and looked down at herself, her eyes filled with astonishment. She slowly started to swing her legs and wiggled her toes, a small smile crept up her face. She looked up at me and smiled excitedly as she immediately tried to stand up. As soon as she stood up, she started to stumble, nearly falling over. With lightning fast speed, I used my powers to surround in a blue hue and balanced her before she tumbled over. She regained her balance and looked back at me, scared.
"One foot at a time, kiddo." I encouraged her with a smile as I kept her in balance.
She nodded and carefully moved one foot in front of her, then the other, then the first foot again, then the other. She came closer and closer until she stumbled towards me as I caught her in my arms and I stopped using my magic.
"NOTHING SEEMS TO BE WRONG WITH THE MERMAID." Papyrus said, examining Frisk.
"I think we should be thankful nothing happened to her." Undyne said.
We all went back to the living room, me carefully guiding Frisk to one of the sofas as we all settled down. Frisk sat down beside me and continued to admire her new legs, swinging them back and fort and wiggling her toes as she smiled, leaning her head on my shoulder.
"H-h-how are you fe-feeling F-Frisk?" Alphys questioned.
Frisk looked back with as smile as she opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. She closed her mouth and opened it again, still nothing came out. She looked at all of us, stumped, as she kept trying to speak.
"I th-think w-w-w-we found what t-the side a-a-affect." Alphys suddenly said.
Frisk stared at the little scientist, confused, her head tilted to the side.
"I-it appears that Fr-Frisk c-c-can't speak a-an-anymore." Alphys explained.
"That doesn't really make much of a difference, now does it..." Undyne said under her breath.
I sent a warning glare at Undyne, my left eye flashed a quick bright blue light as I noticed Frisk seemed a little offended with Undyne's words. Undyne immediately shut her mouth as she glace over at me. Frisk looked down at her feet and frowned a bit. I patted Frisk's head, giving her a warm smile.
"Its not a problem, kiddo. Don't worry." I assured her, continuing to pat her head.
She looked up at me and smiled lightly, letting out a small yawn. She then tugged at the sleeve of my jacket. I looked down at her, but before I could answer I could feel something wrap around my neck. Frisk wrapped her necklace around me with cheerful smile. She closed her eyes and placed a hand on my cheekbone as her heart pendant started to glow. The others stared at curiously.
"Sans?" I hear her ask, sleepily.
"What's up?" I responded, grinning.
She lazily grinned back, realizing that communicating won't really be a problem... Well for us at least.
"I'm sleepy..." She responds, her eyes starting to fall.
I smiled, patting her head as I checked the time on a wall clock. 1:42 am, it was really early in the morning.
"Wh-why d-did that necklace s-s-s-start to g-glow?" Alphys asks.
Before I could say anything, light snores slowly echoed the room. We all looked at a sleeping Frisk as she dozes of into her own dreamland.
"Maybe you can explain it to us when the suns up. Its hella late and I'm exhausted." Undyne said.
"Undyne's r-r-right. We'll s-sort this out in th-the mo-morning." Alphys nodded in agreement.
I nodded and turned to look over at Papyrus, finding him already sound asleep. I carefully picked up the slumbering mermaid and used my magic to slowly levitate the knocked out Papyrus off the sofa, smiling at Alphys and Undyne.
"Well I guess I'll see you gals later."
With a snap of my fingers Frisk, Papyrus, and I teleported back to mine and Papyrus' house. I opened Papyrus' door to his room and gently placed him down on his race car bed and pulled the blanket over him. I quietly walked out of the room and shut the door. I headed over to my room and opened the door and closed it behind me. I delicately placed Frisk on my bed, pulling a blanket over her. She can have my bed for now while I sleep on the couch. Before I left I gave her a quick goodnight on the cheek, gently rubbing the top of her head.
"Night kiddo." I whisper.
A small smile appeared on her face as she snuggled closer to the blanket. I patted her head one last time before I telepoted over to the couch, getting ready for bed.

Last minute Bonus! (I hope you guys don't mind the random bonus, but I wanted to add this :3)
A few months passed since Frisk got her human legs. Alphys decided to run some tests on her to make sure nothing else was wrong with her. Nothing was wrong with her, except she can't speak anymore. My friends and I have been teaching her about about the surface, everything she need to know at least.
It was the time of winter and me and Frisk were sitting on the couch, watching some TV while Papyrus was in his room taking a nap. Frisk sat on my lap while she snuggled closer to as I wrapped my jacket around the both of us, my head resting on her soft chocolate brown hair. The snow fell as the wind blew hard, making Frisk shiver in response and grabbing the ends of my jacket and wrapping it around her even more.
"Cold?" I asked the shivering Frisk.
She nodded her head, snuggling closer to my chest as we continued to watch the TV.
"What's that creature that's running around?" She points to the TV and looks up at me.
"We call them dogs, sweetheart." I answered as I rubbed her head.
She looked back at the TV, her eyes filled with interest as she continues to watch the dog play around with its owner. After a while she turns towards me then back at the TV and back at me, curiosity filling her eyes as she tilted her head. I stared back down at her, mimicking her actions.
"What's the matter kiddo?"
She brought her face closer to mine and suddenly licked my teeth. My eyes widen as I covered my now bright glowing blue face with my hoodie and pulled away from Frisk.
"What w-was that for, k-k-k-kiddo..?" I asked, shakily.
She looked at me confused.
"Hmm? What's the matter? That man on TV said that does creatures you call dogs do it to show affection to the one they love." She explains. "And I love you!" She chirped, giving me another lick.
"I don't th-think that's h-h-how for humans and mo-m-monsters, kiddo..."
I sighed at her innocents and just continued to pat her head, my face still glowing bright blue.
"But your turning blue. That only happens when I kiss you. Doesn't that mean you like it~?" She says, grinning, licking my teeth even more.
"S-st-st-stop t-that!" I exclaimed, covering my face as it glows even brighter than before.
"Awww! But you look so cute when your embarrassed like this~" She teased, playfully sticking her tongue out as she batted her eyelashes.
"Ya know? Moments like these make me question how truly innocent you are." I facepalmed.
She giggled in response and removed my hands fro my face, smiling sweetly. She then properly gave me a peck on my teeth.
"I love you, Sans!" She says , cheerfully.
I smiled back as I rubbed her cheeks and kissed her.
"I love ya too, sweetheart."
