Just as Shiki swung his blade, he noticed that Toji was already out of his sight. Suddenly, the boy felt himself being kicked on the right side of his face as his body was sent rolling across the ground. Before Toji could chase after Shiki, he saw three Black Keys heading straight towards him.

Seeing this, Toji simply swung his sword in order to shatter the Holy Sacraments. The moment he did this, his eyes widen when he saw three copies of Asuramaru managed to slash his chest. As Toji looked down at his torn shirt, he saw three slash marks on his chest as he proceeded to dash towards Shiki.

"The moment an animal is most vulnerable are when it sleeps or when he just finished a successful hunt. The moment you complete an objective, you take a slight second to register that fact. This boy used that knowledge so when I destroyed the Black Keys, he had already launched another attack just when I succeeded to block the initial strike."

As Toji reached into the mouth of the cursed spirit wrapped around his body, he took out the next cursed item to use against Shiki. Seeing this, Shiki used Asuramaru to stop an attack aimed for his head. When the boy looked at Toji, he saw the man with a three-section staff connection by three rings in between the joins of the weapon. Each staff is decorated with a flame-like pattern near the ends by the metal which connects to the chains.

Once more, Toji swung the staff at Shiki. However, the moment that Shiki tried to block it with Asuramaru, his eyes widen with shock as he was sent flying into the air. As Shiki was in the air, Toji swiftly places Playful Cloud back into the cursed spirit's mouth and once again grabbed the chains from earlier. Soon Toji hurled the chain in the air as it wrapped around Shiki's body. Suddenly Shiki felt himself being pulled down to the ground, only for his gut to feel the impact of Toji's fist as he was sent flying to the air again.

Toji smirked as he yanked the chain again, only this time he did this to slam Shiki onto the ground. The moment Shiki crashed into the ground, Toji began to swing the chain in a circle above his head. As he did this, Shiki was being twirled in the air as he kept getting hit by a few tree branches before the chain around him unwrapped itself from his body. However, the moment the chain went back inside of his cursed spirit's mouth, Toji jumped in the air and kicked Shiki on the left side of his face which sent the boy flying.

"Heh, I'll give him this. Kid's got endurance, but that's about it."

As Toji said this, he lunged to where Shiki was sent flying. However, the moment he did this, he saw three swords heading straight for him. Toji scoffed at this display as he merely took out his own blade from the cursed spirit's mouth and deflected the blades with ease. The moment this happened, Toji's eyes widen in shock as he felt a burning sensation in his back.

While Toji was distracted by the blades earlier, Shiki dashed around the man using the trees as camouflage. By the time Toji deflected the blades, Shiki was already in his blind spot and managed to stab Asuramaru into the man's back. However, the attack wasn't deep enough to be fatal, so Shiki jumped backwards in order to avoid Toji suddenly turning around. Suddenly Shiki hissed in pain when he felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder.

The moment Shiki jumped backwards, Toji made it seem like he was going to punch the boy. However, he simply made Shiki jump backwards so he would have no way to dodge, making it so that when he threw his throwing knife that Shiki wouldn't be able to react in time.

"The kid is starting to land more attacks on me. He's adapting quicker than expected, however, his body isn't fast enough to carry out some of the plans he makes. What a waste of talent. But, money is money."

The moment Toji finished his thought, he was already standing in front of Shiki. Before the boy could get up, he suddenly found himself trapped in a barrage of punches by Toji. His left cheek, the right, under his chin, the top of his head. All of these areas were being pummeled by Toji as each hit threatened to knock Shiki out.

Soon Toji performed an uppercut underneath Shiki's chin as the boy was sent flying into the air. Just as Shiki was about to land back on the ground, Toji jumped into the air and delivered a powerful kick into Shiki's gut. Shiki gasped for air as he landed harshly on the ground. As the boy was slowly getting up, he tightened his grip on Asuramaru as blood escaped from the top of his head and falling down the left side of his face.

"Just hold on, Shiki. You can do this. You can beat this monster standing before you. You've overcame everything so far."

Only because I was bailed out.

The moment Shiki took a deep breath, he suddenly turned around as Asuramaru was clashing against Toji's blade. It was taking everything he had to even try to keep up with this man, but he was slowly starting to adapt to the man's movements.

"I can do this.......I didn't think I had a chance against Merkava and I managed to kill him."

Only because Megumi was there to provide support and help you deal the final blow.

Just as Shiki swung his blade at Toji, the man jumped over the boy's head with great height. As he was in the air he took a chain out of the cursed spirit's mouth and wrapped it around Shiki's arm. The moment Toji landed on his feet, he pulled on the chain and forced Shiki to be drawn towards him. Soon Toji punched Shiki in the gut so hard, the boy was having trouble breathing as he was sent flying backwards.

"I managed to beat Naoya and save Megumi from that cursed spirit."

Only because Asuramaru was interested in you on a whim.

After sending Shiki flying with his punch, Toji unwraps the chain from around Shiki's arm as he began to jump into the trees and moved from branch to branch with incredible speed. The moment Shiki's body collided with the ground, Toji used the last tree he hopped on as a platform as he launched himself at Shiki. Soon the boy screamed in pain as he felt Toji slam his left foot onto his gut as the ground beneath them began to form a small crater from the impact.

"Well this was fun, but looks like you just weren't good enough. If only you had at least one more person to cover you, you would've been a challenge then. Or maybe, you were spoiled with such "good companions", they spoiled you to death."

He's right, in Shiki's mind, the monster named Toji was right. He was really blessed with being around strong beings. Megumi was there to support him whenever he needed him. Asuramaru made him his wielder. Olivia tried her best to train him but couldn't due to simple incompatibility.

"I never thought a time would come when I could fight alone. Megumi always saving me ...Asuramaru saving me, people were always there to bail me out. They never let me fight alone and I rely on them. Now I met someone who lacks magic and cursed energy like myself and he's practically a monster. After seeing this man fight, after seeing what I could become instead of relying on everyone else, all I feel towards my actions up until this point is......is ....."

"...........Disgust!"

An evolution born from weakness and ego. A monster of pure carnage is about to emerge.
