Leader

"A woman? A man? I can't tell. This person is definitely beautiful, but just as confusing. Even now, my very body and soul are confused. While I don't feel that bloodlust, I can't help but feel like I'm in danger."

Confusion. That was the only word to perfectly describe the feeling Shiki had right now. The voice of this individual was calming, yet Shiki couldn't help but be on guard. Why did something feel off about this person? Why was he being torn between wanting to listen to them and wanting them gone from his sight?

"Hehe, I already like you. Hey, did you know? You broke your glass and have it at my throat currently."

The moment the individual said this, Shiki looked at his hand. Blood was escaping from his right hand as it held broken glass at the stranger's neck. Multiple shards of glass were on the floor, showing as if something was smashed there. While Shiki was confused by his own action, the stranger smiled as they moved closer to the boy. Blood being drawn out of their neck slightly as their gaze never left Shiki.

"Most people don't develop a killer instinct until they've stayed on the battlefield long enough. Yet you, you had it even before joining us. Not only that, you feel like the most dangerous person here."

"W-who are you", Shiki asked with a nervous tone in his voice. Seeing this, the individual smiled as they held both of Shiki's wrists and pinned him down to his hospital bed.

"Shiranui Ouma, current head of the Demon Hunter Organization. In other words, think of me as your boss."

"You're the head?!"

"Yes, I came here to evaluate you but I see that it was unnecessary. You already have the instinct for disposing your target. However, allow of me to offer you one piece of advice. Throw away your common sense while you still can. It will only make things harder for you in this line of work. Then again......maybe you never had common sense to begin with. After all, you're more of a monster than a human."

As Shiranui said this, they began to lift Shiki's glasses up. The moment they did this, Shiranui couldn't hide the shock from their face. The moment they saw Shiki's eyes, they could tell right away. This boy was a dangerous creature. After putting Shiki's glasses back to their original position, Shiranui stood up and began to exit the room.

"Your next mission will be to go to Tokyo with Hayasaka Megumi and help the Tokyo Branch investigate the theft of the S-Ranked Cursed Treasure:Asuramaru. You'll be meeting with Olivia von Degurechaff and she will fill you in on the details."

"Y-yes, boss."

"Heh. I have high hopes for you, Koritsu Shiki."

Having said their last statement to Shiki, Shiranui exits the room. As they walked down the hall, a smirk could be seen plastered on their face. After meeting the boy face to face, Shiranui confirmed why the boy interested them.

"Well then, it seems like there are survivors of that family after all. But to think he would possess THOSE eyes. Looks like I'll have to keep him on a tight leash."

As Shiranui exits the hospital, they took their cell phone out of their pocket as they called the Demon Hunter Organization. The moment they received an answer, they simply had one order to give to everyone.

"Effective immediately, Koritsu Shiki shall be classified as an S-Rank Executioner for the Demon Hunter Organization. He will be personally monitored and take missions from under me."

~Nighttime:At Jogi Temple~

"Man, that night was so much fun. I wish I could've gone after that boy as well, but Megumi-chan was fun too."

As he was climbing his way to the top of the Temple, Mahito was smiling to himself as he remembered the events of the fight with church. While he was recalling this, a sinister chuckle escaped from his lips.

"Megumi-chan is really stiff though. Acting like a human and holding her true side back. I hope my Idle Transfiguration helped her loosen up a bit and reveal that side of her that she's trying so hard to keep secret."

"The hell are you babbling about, Mahito?"

As Mahito turned around, he saw Naoya glaring daggers at him. However, Mahito's sight wasn't on Naoya, but on the weapon at his side. As the katana rested in the sheath, Mahito could see it. The soul within the object.

"So that is the cursed treasure you stole. Asuramaru."

"Yeah, so what" Naoya said with a sarcastic tone to his voice. "Anyways, we made it to the top. It seems the time is almost here."

"Yes....I can't wait."

As Mahito and Naoya entered the highest point of the Temple, they saw the familiar their master left with Merkava awaiting them. As the two stood in front of the pitch black fox, it began to speak for its Master.

"The mana that you and Merkava gave unto me was spectacular. For that, I thank you, Mahito. Though it pains me to have learned Merkava died before getting his wish fulfilled. So first, let us give him a moment of silence."

"With all do respect, why the hell should we even bother" Naoya asked. "He knew very well what it would mean if he joined us and if he kept eating humans. Plus it's not like any of us give a damn about each other, hell, two of us aren't even here to see you. We're only here to-"

"I said a moment of silence, Naoya."

Before he could say another word, Naoya suddenly found his whole body restrained by chains made of shadows. As the man looked furious, he saw the black fox familiar snickering to itself as its Master spoke.

"You may not have cared for him, but I do. Every single one of you followed me, whether it be for your own goals or not, to help me with my desire. For that I cherish you all, but if you speak ill of the dead again.....I won't hesitate to make you join them."

Having said their word, the master let Naoya escape his bindings. While this happened, Mahito stepped forward as he reached deep inside of his pocket. The objects he offered to the black fox were several humans he transfigured. Seeing this the fox smiled as it opened its mouth to devour every single one of them.

"With this, the seal placed upon you from the humans dating back to the Heian Period will no longer be strong enough to bind you for long. So please....let me see the shape of your soul."

As Mahito said this, the fox finished devouring the transfigured humans. Soon it turned around as the shadows on the wall began to grow and expand. Before they knew it, Naoya and Mahito could no longer see the walls of the temple they were in. All they saw was pitch black darkness.

A darkness that was so vast, they couldn't even see their own bodies. However, as they looked in the distance, they saw one thing. The body of a woman that looked as if she was chained down by the darkness itself. As the woman slowly lifts her head, she looked in the direction of her two colleagues.

"Thank you.....in just a few more nights.....I will awaken."

The moment the woman finished her sentence, Mahito and Naoya found themselves back at the temple. Both of them couldn't hide the look of terror in their eyes after that experience. Naoya was terrified due to being exposed to such darkness and not being able to see a single thing. However, Mahito was terrified due to seeing the object he desired. The soul of the person he called Master. As the two of them were trying to regain their senses, the fox familiar spoke to them.

"Naoya, you will be putting the cursed treasure to use and see the progress of your training with it. To test if you've truly bonded with the object, I have a task for you that even my Master knows nothing about."

"F-fine, what is it?"

"Knowing those bastards at the Demon Hunter Organization, unless they find someone capable of killing her, the most they'll do is just seal her away again. I don't need to remind you that's how we got into this mess in the first place. But you see, Merkava spilled the beans of what he was doing to one member of the church and she will be your main target. Her name is Olivia von Degurechaff."
