SANGINI – A NEW BEGINNING! CHAPTER 82

Recap – Dada- Dadi in Delhi....

It's 8 in the evening. Everything is set. Ragini comes out of the kitchen with bowls wearing a pretty short Indian top with jeans. Her hair were tied in a side fishtail and a little make up. She was looking pretty. Behind her came dadi, who was helping her to set the table.

Dadi : Laado, he's your boss so behave okay?

Ragini makes faces but then nods. Sanskaar comes there in cream colour pants and black shirt with two buttons from the top, open. Ragini was drooling over him. she winked at him, making him blush and stunned. He nods his head as he heads towards the main door as the doorbell rang.

Ragini : aa gaya khadoos.

Dadi : LAADO...

Ragini : sorry...

She pouts and they move towards the living area. Dada ji was also present there. Sanskaar comes inside with Kabir. There was still no expression on his face which irked Ragini. He too was shocked to see her there.

Sanskaar : Kabir, you have met her. She's Ragini...

Kabir : of course. Lieutenant Ragini.

Ragini rolled her eyes as he smirked.

Sanskaar : yes but also, she's my fiancé.

This time Ragini smirked while he looked on with a plain face.

Sanskaar : and they are her grandparents.

He joined his hands and greeted them. They blessed him. They all settled down.

Back in Kolkata!

Sujata was not leaving any chance to taunt Swara, directly or indirectly. But she also kept in mind that the baby shouldn't be harmed. Swara was getting too affected by her taunts but couldn't do anything as she knew she was at fault this time. Everyone was in hall when the watchman came inside.

W : sahib, a lady has come to meet Swara madam.

Laksh : shona, have you called someone?

Swara : no Lucky. Who's it bhaiya?

" it's me Swara" came a feminine voice from behind. Everyone looked towards the door only to find Aashita standing there in a crop top and torn jeans. Swara smiled and got up to receive her.

Sujata : lo ek aur bangalan aa gayi.... ( look, one more Bengali )

Ram : suji.. shss....

Sujata huffs and goes from there.

Swara : Aashita .. what a pleasant surprise.. what are you doing here?

Aashita: you want to ask everything at the door only or will you let me come inside?

Swara : of course yaar come..

She descended the stairs along with Aashita who looked at everyone. She greeted all and then sat beside Swara. Dp and Rp went from there feeling uncomfortable. Ap asked Pari to get snacks for the guest and retired to her room too. Uttara took Addy to her room. Swara felt bad that everyone left when her friend came. Adarsh who was talking to Laksh too started to leave when Aashita stopped him.

Aashita: umm.. hi Adarsh.

He smiled at her.

Aashita: actually I wanted to say that I read your interview in the magazine yesterday.. i must say it was very impressive.

Adarsh : thanks.

Pari came there with juice and snacks. Aashita turned towards Swara and thanked Pari. Everyone left while the friends too moved to the garden to have a talk.

Swara and Aashita walked in the garden as they talked.

Aashita: vaise I don't believe that you, Swara Bose got married so early and is also going to be a mother.....

Swara : i know yaar.. even i never thought that this will happen so fast but.... well....

Aashita: all that is okay but why have you changed your style.... i mean you look like...... what? Bhenji?

Swara had worn the floor length suit. ( which she used to wear during fake marriage drama )

Aashita: i never understood why the girls completely change their clothing style after marriage.

Swara : i know you are a fashion designer and you deeply look into these things... but i'm now used to this. Moreover, I can't do anything about it. i'm thankful that they didn't forced me to wear saree like Pari bhabhi....

Aashita: well yes. Btw what does your pari bhabhi do?

Swara : she's also into fashion designing just like you.

Aashita: oh really? And still Adarsh wear such boring clothes.

Swara " so what do you want him to wear? Neon pants ??

She chuckles while Aashita looks on with a bored face.

Aashita: seriously swara...... you have changed so much after marriage... your clothes, attitude, sense of humour.... kahan gayi voh chulbuli shona??? Haan??

Swara looks at her friend with teary eyes. Finally, someone was there who was able to understand her unsaid words. But now she can't go back in time to change everything. She chose this for herself. And now nothing matters. It's her first marriage anniversary in a next few months and she doesn't remember when was the last time she hanged out with her friends, went to the academy and played guitar, wore her favourite clothes or ate macher jhol ( fish curry ) made by Dida's hands. She missed all this. She missed being Swara Bose.

Aashita keenly looked at her lost face and then shook her to bring her back to reality. Swara sat down on the bench, clutching her face.

Swara : Aashita, you are right.... Shona is lost, she has gone somewhere.... and you know who's living the life which i dreamt of? Ragini. She's living her life like I wanted. Independent and happy life. And here i'm stuck in a joint family.

Aashita; swara, don't say like this. She's your sister and they are your family.

Swara : of course yaar. I'm very happy for Ragini.... and i don't have any problem with the family also. In fact I'm lucky... bachpan se I craved for family's love and now i have got it...... but i want to breathe as well. Sometimes it gets so difficult yaar... Chachi is always behind me for whatever I said and did to Sanskaar. Ask me... how difficult it was for me to adjust but I'm doing na.... no one sees that. Ek toh i don't know now a days Lucky is spending most of the time outside only. He's back to square one.....

Aashita : oh shona... relax. Calm down. Please.

She said rubbing her back as Swara choked. She hugged her until she calmed down.

Swara : I'm so sorry Ashi... main bhi khamkha...

Aashita : common swara, I'm your friend and you can always share with me.... look I'm here only for a week.. we can hangout together. Okay?

Swara : but your work?

Aashita : work can be done later also....friendship first....

She wipes her tears. Swara smiled and said thank you to her.

Aashita : oh common.... come i'll take you to your room. You must be tired now....

Aashita came to SwaLak's room which was empty. She made her lie down.

Aashi ; where's your husband?

Swara shrugs.

Aashita : okay you relax. Don't be so hard on yourself.

Swara nods and drifts into sleep as she was tired. Aashita covered her with a duvet.

Aashita ( thinks ) : no doubt, marriage is the worst thing in the world.

She looks at Swara's pale face and then goes after closing the door.

Delhi!

All were in the living room having chit chats.

Dadi : beta, apki shadi ho gayi? ( son, are you married? )

Ragini : DADI MAAA...

Dadi ; what? I'm just asking...

Kabir : no...

Ragini ( murmurs ) : isse shadi karega bhi kaun? Koi chudail ya dukhi aatma hi hogi.... ( who'll marry him? some witch or sad person will only marry him )

She chuckles at her own thoughts. Sanskaar eyes her and so did Dadi.

Kabir : i don't believe in marriages

Dadi : did something happened?

Sanskaar felt the conversation was becoming uncomfortable for Kabir so he tried to change the topic.

Sanskaar : dadi ma.... I think we should start the dinner.

Ragini : of course, I'm so hungry... common.

She moved towards the dining area followed by other. Sanskaar moved slowly with Kabir.

Sanskaar : I'm sorry, Kabir.

Kabir : it's okay, sir.

They continued with their dinner with Ragini taunting and pulling Kabir's leg in between. Sanskaar eyed Ragini and felt sad that she's behaving with Kabir like she used to do with him, earlier. In short, he was jealous.

Ragini : common let's see our engagement video now... Pari Bhabhi has sent it. She said the photographer was ready with it so she instantly sent it to me...

She screeched looking at her phone while coming out of the kitchen. Sanskaar came back after seeing off Kabir and smiled seeing Ragini.

Sanskaar : I'm sure you must have eaten her brain for this....

Ragini glares at him and goes towards the DVD player. He sighs.

Sanskaar : we can watch it tomorrow, you must be tired, Ginu...

Ragini : no it's okay... we just have to watch na.... let me connect this to the TV.

Sanskaar shrugged and they all sat down in front of TV. The video started. Ragini's eyes were shining looking at everything. It seemed like she was reliving every moment. Sanskaar looked at her... he smiled sadly looking at her glassy eyes. It has been so difficult, the past couple of days where he could already feel the distance between them increasing even while living together. His expression changed from sad to worry as he saw Ragini's changing from happy to angry. He looked at the screen where Ragini's entrance scene was playing.

Ragini stood up watching Swara pushing Pooja on the stairs. She covered her mouth with her hands as she gasped. Dada Dadi were also shocked to see this. Sanskaar closed his eyes in despair.

Ragini : Oh my god.... Why??

Sanskaar stands up and holds her shoulders.

Sanskaar : Ginu, calm down..

Ragini ( brushes off his hands ) : No.. you knew this na... why didn't you told me yaar? Why you have to hide things from me, always???

Sanskaar : what did you want me to do Ginu? That in front of everyone, in the middle of our engagement function, I should create a scene? Of your sister?

Ragini huffs. They argue. Dada – Dadi gets worried for them.

Dada : beta, you both please calm down. Laado, come sit beside me. Please. And sanskaar you too.

They all settle down. Ragini's eyes are moist. Sanskaar feels bad.

Sanskaar : I'm sorry I didn't do anything at the time because Pooja only stopped me. She didn't wanted to ruin your day. And if it makes you any better, Abhay and Mom handled Swara.

Ragini : I don't even know what to say anymore. And Sansku, this is really not done.

Sanskaar : I'm sorry yaar... plsss...

He exclaimed. He was so tired.

Dadi : Laado, it's not Sanskaar's fault. He was just trying to protect you.

Ragini ; and what about Pooja? Who will protect her? And why is swara doing all this? Didn't she learnt her lesson? I'll just call her right now.

She immediately calls Swara before anyone could say something. Sanskaar sighed. He messaged Pooja about the whole scene.

As soon as Swara picked up the call, Ragini started pouring questions on her.

Swara : I'm sorry, Ragini... I just wanted my sister and she was trying to take my place.

Ragini : no swara, no... no one is trying to take your place. Come out of your own lala land. This is your last warning Swara... after this if you tried to do any such stunt again, you'll have it from me.

She said angrily. Swara shivered listening this.

Swara : Ragini, please I'm....

Ragini : just stop, okay? I'm not even interested anymore.

She disconnects the phone immediately and takes a long breath. A message pops up on her screen, it was from Pooja.

"Di, I'm sorry I didn't told you before. But I know you'll always be there for me..... I love you! And don't be sad or mad at Bhai...."

Ragini sighs and smiles. She looks up at Sanskaar who was looking with guilty eyes. After a long pause,

Ragini : okay fine, I'll forgive you.... But only on one condition...

Sanskaar : what?

Ragini : that you'll not hide anything from me now. Promise?

Sanskaar : oh, I promise!

Ragini : and you'll give me treat.

Dadi : Laado?

Ragini : of course, Dadi Ma.... Galti ki hai toh saza bhi milni chahiye na....

Dada and Dadi nods their heads in disbelief.

Ragini and Sanskaar smile gazing at each other.

Ragini and Dadi retired to their rooms after cleaning everything. Sanskaar went out in the lawn with his black coffee thinking about Ragini, Kabir and her life without him. They have spent so much time together that now even the thought of being away was feeling like a nightmare. He was in dilemma. Of course, he trusted Ragini but he was just not feeling right. He took a deep breath and finished his coffee. Dada Ji came there looking for him. He sat beside him.

Dada : what's troubling you, chore?

Sanskaar : I don't know, Dada Ji. I mean it's my decision to leave but I don't know how we both will manage. We have never been away from each other from almost a year and now.....

Dada : It's normal to have this confusion and anxiety but you've to do this. Do you have another option?

Sanskaar : you're not understanding Dada Ji... It's been 3 days since we are back and because of office work I'm not able to give Ginu enough time and that has made her so sad and gloomy. In just two days she has forgot to smile how is she supposed to live like this for two years.

His eyes turned glassy even at the thought of it. Dada kept his hand on his shoulder. Sanskaar looked away to wipe his tears.

Dada : There is one way.

Sanskaar immediately looked at him with hope in his eyes.

Sanskaar : what? I can do anything.

Dada : Marry her.

Sanskaar : what?

Dada : yes, marry her and take her with you.

The episode ends with blank face of Sanskaar.
