SANGINI – A NEW BEGINNING! CHAPTER 79

Recap – Ragsan's escape...

Everyone is seated in the temple and are eagerly waiting for the priest to announce the date.

Dida : arre pandit ji? What happened?

Priest : look... mangal will be heavy on them in the coming years... there's no mahurat for the next three years.. and he's already going out for two years, then you'll still have to wait for one more year to get them married.

RagSan look at each other with sad faces. All the others also become gloomy. Their eager and cheerful faces turned down into depressed faces.

Dp : is there some problem?

Priest : the match is very good, durgaprasad ji. But there's no auspicious mahurat as of now. If you want, they can get married after 7 days .. otherwise after 3 years only.

Everyone looks at sanskaar. He didn't knew what to say. Ragini understood him.

Ragini : it's okay everyone. We'll marry after he comes back. Anyhow, we had decided that we'll marry after we settle. And we are engaged for now, so no worries.

Sanskaar feels proud of his love.

Uttara : ohho... means bhabhi you guys were planning your marriage for a long time haan??

She teased them. Everyone grins. Ragini blushes. Sanskaar glares at uttara.

Everyone was walking down the stairs of the temple. Ragini was talking to ap and sujata when rp came and took ragini with him to a side.

Ragini : what happened papa?

Rp : beta.. next time you visit our house, come from the main door. I don't want you to hurt yourself.

Ragini looks at him with wide open eyes. He grins. She looks here and there, embarrassed. Rp smiles and keeps his hand on her head.

Ragini : umm.. what? I mean...

Rp explains her how he saw her running in the garden and climbing the wall. He first didn't recognized her because of her hoodie but when she waved back, sitting on the wall he saw her from the window. Ragini feels so embarrassed. I mean, who wants to get caught by her father in law sneaking out of her fiancés room. Rp laughed looking at her flushed face. He took her in his embrace. Ragini smiled.

Rp : i'm so glad for you both. Finally you got what you deserved, love of your life.

Ragini looks at him and nods. She took his blessings. She didn't had anything to say. She was open with rp and he treated her like his friend, his daughter. They had a unique relationship. It was special for her.

Addy : bigcha.. . why are you leaving again/?

Addy asked sanskaar and hugged him. she was in his arms. Tears flew from her eyes. RagSan were at the airport along with PariSh, SwaLak, Shekhar and Dadi, Addy and AbhayPoo. Ragini kept her hand on Addy's head. She was sobbing. Pari took her from Sanskaar's hands. She was so attached to sanskaar, in such a short time. He too loved her so much. Adarsh nodded at them. Everyone hugged RagSan and AbhayPoo before they left and went inside the airport.

Pari rubbed Addy's back to calm her down. Sanskaar looked back with teary eyes. He never knew a little girl will get so attached to him. He didn't regret reconciling with the families, now. He was happy because everyone was happy and so was his heart. There was a different kind of peace when he hear his Mom's voice, Addy's cute talks, Dp's silent love, Ap's care, Rp's advices, his siblings and most importantly his bhabhi.. ( chocolate, i hope you get this, guys... )

Days were passing like minutes. Ragini's tension, anxiety and sadness was increasing day by day. Two years without sanskaar, alone in delhi, how will she survive. Of course, Pooja and work will divert her mind. She'll travel back to Kolkata or they'll come here but still who'll cover up for him. They weren't even getting enough time together. He was so busy with the arrangements. Most of his time was spent in office and on calls. She was getting weak from inside but she had to be strong for sanskaar.

They were in the office. After 12 days, Sanskaar will leave. He'll leave for two years. While employees were happy by the success and with the thought that they'll become an international company now. Sanskaar had to take various management related decisions that'll not compromise with the work in his absence. He had called a meeting with everyone.

Sanskaar : Guys... I know everyone is excited for this project. But i want to make sure that the quality of work is not compromised here. I know you all very capable and know what to do but I don't want you to feel free thinking no one is above you and you are not answerable to anyone. Punjab's office has started working in full swing but it is still new and they are guided from here and so are you people. So to fill in for me, I want you all to welcome Mr. Kabir Malhotra. He was the head of our Mumbai branch but now he's promoted here to take care of the North Region. He has been updated about everything. I hope you'll cooperate with him and will not disappoint me or him. please welcome Mr. Kabir.

A very handsome, well groomed man in a charcoal black suit and short hair entered from the main door. Everyone looked at him. He seemed very stiff and unattached. He stood beside Sanskaar, who greeted him with a handshake. He looked at the staff. There was no smile on his face.

( AHAM SHARMA )

Kabir : Good Morning everyone. I'm not here to take anyone's place. Your and my senior, boss will always be Sanskaar Sir. I only believe in smart work and time value of money. You won't face any problem from my side if you don't give up on the work and deadlines. Otherwise you may not like the consequences. Thank you.

He nodded his head. Sanskaar gave him a small grin. Everyone clapped for him. they were obviously not ready for anything like this. Sanskaar had always been a helpful and had a warm personality. Though he also had concentrated on work but he definitely haven't warned or threatened them like this.

Sanskaar : Kabir... you scared everyone. This not what they want from their boss.

Kabir : exactly. The question is what i and this company want from the employees. My experience has taught me sir, the more flexible you are, the less productive is your work. And in our company, we don't want such things. Don't worry sir, I assure you, this company will see new heights in the upcoming years.

Sanskaar : I have no doubt Kabir! All the best!

They shake hands. Pooja comes in.

Sanskaar : Kabir, she's Pooja. She'll assist you. You can trust her and contact her for anything.

Pooja : hello sir. Nice to meet you.

Kabir nods. Pooja gave them some files and they continued their meeting. Pooja comes out, all were waiting for her. Ragini too was anxious about the new boss.

Ragini : poo, what happened inside?

Pooja : guys... he's a devil. He didn't even smiled yaar...

Ragini : how can someone be so khadoos yaar? It's going to be so tough...

Rahul : yaar now i feel sanskaar sir should not go..

Pooja : actually. Or maybe our boss was a little easy going.

Ragini : but we cant do anything guys. Sanskaar sir will never take a wrong decision. And i'm sure hamare sath rehte rehte hamare naye sir hasna seekh jaenge... ( i'm sure by staying with us, our new boss will learn to smile. )

Kabir and sanskaar who just came there listened to Ragini's last line. Sanskaar face palmed himself and nodded his head in disbelief.

Sanskaar ( thinks ) : god... this girl starts anywhere... if she comes under Kabir's radar he'll not spare her ...

But Ragini hasn't seen them. So she continues her blabbering while Pooja tried to stop her as she saw them. Sanskaar signed her to take her away but Ragini kept on ranting.

Ragini : offo Poo.. why are you dragging me? Listen guys... we all know that we work better in a happy and stress free environment. So whatever Mr. Bossypants wants, we'll do if appropriate otherwise No. And we all should be like a team. He's new here lets show him what we are. Huh. How can he threaten us.? Don't worry guys. We'll see him. There'll be a war if he tried to threaten us again. what's the matter Poo. Don't push me...

Everyone looked behind Ragini and were shocked to see their bosses. They tried to leave but Kabir signed them to stay quiet and stand at their places. Sanskaar was just helpless. Pooja was trying her best to stop Ragini-express but she was too offended by her new boss.

Pooja ( whispers ) : di look behind for once please...

Ragini ; what is behind Poo?

She turns around and sees Kabir staring at her with arms crossed in front of his chest with a blank face and beside him was Sanskaar who signed her "finished" ( you know like swiping your hand against your neck ) ragini made a cry baby face and moved back. Kabir started walking towards her followed by sanskaar. Everyone was scared. Ragini stumbled and was about to fall but Kabir held her wrist. Ragini's breath was stuck for a moment. Sanskaar and Pooja looked on.

Sanskaar didn't felt right about this scene. He took back his hand with which he was about to hold her. Kabir made Ragini stand properly. Ragini bowed down her head, embarrassed and so did everyone.

Kabir : first handle yourself then think about handling a war in front of me.

Sanskaar : actually Kabir...

Kabir : i'm sorry sir. But now i'm their boss. Let me handle this.

He looks at him. Sanskaar nods. He turns to Ragini.

Kabir : so Ms....

Ragini : Ra.. Ragini...

Kabir : yes so Ms ragini, if you have any problem with the functioning of this workplace, you can resign. And this goes for everyone. There are lots of people out there who would have no problem in following discipline.

Ragini : sir, earlier also we were in discipline.. but no one threatened us...

She rolls her eyes at him.

Kabir : well if asking you to meet your deadlines is a threat for you Ms Ragini then neither I or anyone in this world cannot help you.

Ragini : but....

Kabir : is there still something to say? Now everyone, work as per the rules or you are free to resign. Now back to your work.

He commands. Everyone returns to their places. Ragini is about to revert back but sanskaar signs her to stay quiet. She huffs and goes from there.

Sanskaar : ginu... common yaar... we had decided na we won't bring office talks to home..

Ragini : sansku go and talk to your Kabir... huhh...

Sanskaar was washing the dishes and Ragini was angrily putting the utensils back in their place after wiping. Ragini was angry at sanskaar for taking Kabir's side in office.

Sanskaar : at least don't pour your anger on utensils. They'll get hurt..

Ragini : sanskuu.. you'll have it from me now.

She hits on his bum with the rolling pin. Sanskaar jumps and runs from there, shouting. She follows him.

Sanskaar : ginu.. common yaar... he'll be your boss from now. You cannot speak like this in open. And you literally called in for a war.

Ragini : so do you want to say what he did was right?

Sanskaar : ginu.. everyone person has different leadership style. After sometime you'll get used to it. now stop... please...

Ragini stops running after him. they both sit on the kitchen slap. He side hugs her. He knew she was just sad because he was going and it was coming out in different ways. He recalls how she cried suddenly in the middle of the night, holding him.

Sanskaar ; ginu.. Kabir is a good guy but he's like that. He never lets emotions come in between. I know him from a long time. His intensions are not wrong.. trust me.... and if there's any problem you can always call me na....

Ragini : i'm scared sansku.. what if i don't meet his expectations and he throws me out? You never complained about my work because of US. But he... he wont spare me sansku...

Sanskaar : arre baba.. why are you saying like this? You remember na i had scolded you in initial days?? ( she nods with a pout ) I did that because you made mistakes but with time you learnt and your work became perfect. That's why i didn't scolded you later on.. it had nothing to with our relationship. And i'm sure Kabir will not make wrong judgements either.

Ragini simply nods. Sanskaar stands in front of her.

Sanskaar ; and if he troubles you then i'll beat him like this..

He lightly punched her in the stomach. Ragini laughs. She hugs him and he reciprocates tightly.

Sanskaar : but you should say sorry to him tomorrow for whatever you said today.

Ragini : but i'm not sorry for whatever i said. He's Mr. Bossypants... huh.... and tomorrow is Saturday that means we don't have to look at his blank face for two days..

She squeals happily. Snaskaar makes a sheepish face.

Sanskaar : actually, ginu... he's coming over for dinner tomorrow...

Ragini : ohh acha... wait whattttt????

She shouts in his ear. He moves back rubbing his ear. She jumps from the slab and threw the rolling pin towards him. he caught it before his face got smashed.

Ragini ; how dare you sansku??

Sanskaar : ginu... i invited him.. please...

Ragini : no ways yaar... sansku you didn't even asked me.... and vaise bhi.. dada ji and dadi ma are coming tomorrow.

Yes, Dada ji and Dadi ma were coming to Delhi tomorrow as they wanted to see where Ragini was living and how was everything there. And therefore, Ragini had shifted her belongings to her old room.

Sanskaar : that's okay ginu. It'll not be a problem. You please just stay calm okay?

Ragini ( takes a deep breath ) : okay. But if he tries to cross my way i'll tell him who I AM..... and you wont stop me... okay???

Sanskaar threw up his hands in air, surrendering. They completed the dishes and moved towards their room.

Sanskaar : acha suno na.... give me a kiss na baby...

Ragini : nope...

Sanskaar ; please na... it's been so long....

They reached their room. They brushed together. She came and lied on her side turning her back towards him. he came and jumped on the bed. He backed hugged her and continuously kissed her on cheek until she smiled and hugged him back. They slept in each others embrace.

Ragini didn't wanted their last days together, before he went, fighting. She wanted everything to go smoothly and happily. She was going to miss him so much. Last few days she has experienced his absence because he was busy with the work and deals. Therefore, she called Dadi and Dada to stay with them for this last week because it's going to be so difficult for her.

She kissed sanskaar's forehead and slept keeping her head on his chest and tightly hugging him. The screen freezes on sleeping couple.
