No more green eyed monster!

Hi I'm back hope you didn't miss me too much!

Please comment etc on this part ( it took me ages to write but I'm not entirely sure what happens in it)

She meets the next boy (sort of) in the next part...

Jess POV:

It's been hard, really hard the last few weeks, looking after Luke and all the animals has had Sang exhausted from dawn till dusk. Charlie and Lola having been dropped off just a few hours after we got back from Erica's with Luke. Sang being Sang, can never say no, so she took them in and by evening they thought of her as their mum.

With Sam and Jeff living practically permanently in the sling slung around her shoulder and the two troublesome monkeys hanging on her constantly, her job has not been made any easier. I know I've been resenting Luke for the last two weeks, but I am used to Sang only trusting me. And I was annoyed at him for completely exhausting her every second of the day, in some twisted way I managed to make it his fault in my head. Admittedly I was not expecting her to trust him that quickly, it shocked me and I didn't have time to get used to it. Why did she sleep next to him that first night? Why did she trust him so quickly? What does she see in him that she doesn't see in my mum? When she slept all four of the babies between them after he came back injured...

I felt jealous, I know I did. But Sang saw it and the next day she somehow made more time to spend with me, despite everything else she had to contend with. For the last few weeks, she's ramped up my language lessons and now I'm almost fluent in Italian, we are going to start others soon, but she went with intensive Italian first as none of the boys spoke it. She hasn't said a word to me in English for the last week. Apparently learning by immersion or something. It lessoned the jealousy, but I was still expecting it to come back in full force when Luke woke up. Yet...

It hasn't.

Sitting on the bed laughing at Uncle all I can feel is content, like I just found my chosen family. It feels right. Luke with the arm not in a cast wrapped around Sang's shoulders looks more content and relaxed than I have ever seen, no tapping. And Sang, I would say she's glowing. Literally. I didn't realise that it was her first kiss when I suggested it. I read somewhere about coming out of bad memories by replacing them with good ones, it may be total garbage but it was worth a try, and I saw the way Luke was looking at Sang, he had it bad as soon as he met her, so any memory with her was going to be good.

It worked, but now I feel really bad that I was her first kiss... She's twenty for god's sake, I kind of assumed that everyone had their first kiss before then! Yet she doesn't seem bothered by it, in fact I think she loved it, when Luke kissed her again a moments later, I couldn't help but notice the grin that crept across her face, a lot with the bright red blush. She didn't pull away either and I decided that they both deserved that happiness, something else that lessoned the jealous twisting my stomach. They really did both deserve happiness.

We had both started reading the mission report on Luke, but Sang had stopped after the basic overview, saying that it had to be his decision to tell us. I wasn't sure I entirely agreed, thinking that we needed to be prepared if something went wrong, as Luke's break down proves, but Sang had locked the file down in her computer so that only Luke could unlock it, not sure how she locker herself out and I'm sure she could get in if she wanted but it showed she was serious about this.

At least everything feels fine, right, good, until Luke asks that question, the one we have been dreading answering. Sang said there was a chance that he would have forgotten stuff. We didn't think it would be her and the whole time that he spent here. Luckily that came back when she kissed him. But he still didn't remember why his here. I can get that, normally he would, if injured on a job, wake up surrounded by his team.

"Now what happened to get me hurt this much?" he asks again looking at us both. Sang bursts into tears, I get that she blames herself, but no one else does and Luke won't either. I know him too well, and his just too good to do that, especially when it isn't true.

"What happened? Why am I here and not at an acede.... And not at a hospital?" He doesn't yet realise that we know all. Tears still streaming down her face Sang slides off of the bed, Luke lets her go the devastation clear in his eyes as he wordlessly asks me what he did wrong. I can't answer and just point at where Sang is bringing up recordings from the camera in their kitchen.

Luke watches silently the events of the morning that he can't remember. I have to turn away when North sends a fist into his ribs, after the Kayli influence. Luke has tears rolling down his face similar to Sang by the end.

"It's not your fault!" he turns and looks straight at her, his eyes serious, now the devastation had turned to determination as he tries to make her see that it really isn't her fault. Her eyes meet his and they have a conversation that I can't read but when they are done Sang's shoulders have relaxed for the first time since 'the incident'.

"Right!" she claps her hands once, "We have a delivery in about fifteen minutes, we need to get the storeroom sorted!" she says looking at me, I love that she says 'we', like this is my home too, "Luke looks like you're on dad duty, don't let Charlie and Lola be naughty! They need feeding in about half an hour, use the labelled bottles! And I know you're going to want to get out of the bed, but I need you to stay for a few more days, so that you don't do any more damage! Right got that? Good!" she turns to go then comes back to the bed and kisses the heads of each of her children, I slide off the bed, Luke's face looks slightly sad as he looks at her. Sang blushes as she places Lola down on her pillow, not that Luke know she's been staying yet, then she kisses Luke's cheek. A second later she's gone. Luke's completely happy contented face makes me laugh as I give each of the babbies a stroke and head out after Sang.

"You going to make Luke combust!" I say at her, with happiness, I add silently in my head, as we head back to the storeroom, where we were before Luke started waking up and we had to go sort that situation out. She laughs slightly and blushes again, "Or maybe his going to make you combust!" I mutter. She doesn't say anything in any language as we finish sweeping the end of the storeroom and stacking the older food bag at one side.

When the huge van gets here the gates open as usual. Sang stands tense before straightening her spin and mentally fortifying herself.

"Shall I go?" I ask her gently. She sags and nods instantly, most human contact is very iffy for her.

"Hello sir!" I call to the driver of the truck, a cuteish young man who looks exhausted and like he would rather be anywhere but here.

"You are Miss. Hickson?" he asks, what the heck, isn't Sang's last name Roberts? I just nod trusting Sang will explain when I get back inside. "Great where do you want this lot?" he asks tiredly, vaguely waving at the open back of the truck. I point to the roller shutter that's currently going up.

"In there please!" I say pointing, trying to be polite despite the scowling man I would currently quite like to shoot. What can I say, Sang's been teaching me! That and a bit of self-defence. He grunts, reminding me of North, which shoots pain though my heart, and starts unloading as fast as he can.

His done in half an hour. All the dogs and Sang stay as far away as possible, but I can sense them watching over me, all of them. The man seems to feel their eyes on him as well as he looks very uncomfortable, he barely says anything before he climbs back into the truck and drives off as fast as possible.

"Beh, era interessante!" (Well, he was interesting!) Sang says to me speaking Italian again. I give her a half smile and we work together for a few hours to do the afternoon feeds and sort all the new food, the conversation easier than it has been for the last two weeks, now that the worry has, at least partly, gone from her eyes.

By the time we are finished it's almost ten in the evening; delivery days are always long. Sang gets me to go check on Luke etc as she goes to make dinner. When I get back to Luke's bay, I can't help but smile and take a photo, Luke is fast asleep again, still healing, and Charlie and Lola have been up to no good. Luke has pen marks all over his face. Where in hell did, they get them from, the laughter the bubbles up in me and out at his situation. Sam and Jeff wake up at my laughter and they both look up hopefully, I roll my eyes, I know they are looking for food, but that is going to have to wait for Sang.

"CHARLIE, LOLA!" I yell, Luke wakes up with a start. The twosome peer over the top of bay wall and look sheepish at my shout.

"What's wrong?" Luke questions sleepily, just as Sang comes in.

"Perché stai gridando contro di loro questa volta?" (why are you shouting at them this time?) it takes me a second to work out what she's said, then she sees Luke's face, "Non preoccuparti, ho avuto!" (don't worry I get it!) Luke looks between us, he doesn't understand a word of what we just said. For some reason I find this extremely funny as Sang tells the two off, again! Even as I'm still laughing, I hand out food and give Luke a couple of labelled bottles. Sang places Charlie and Lola in his lap and they snatch the bottles so they can drink. She quickly holds the bottles out for Samira and Jeffery, they both perk up and start drinking instantly.

We are both still trying to hold in out laughter at Luke's rather... interestingly decorated face.

"Okay, why are you both laughing?" Luke finally asks when all the babies have been fed and we're all eating our own food.

"Pensi che dovremmo dirglielo?" (think we should tell him?) Sang asks me giggling, and I roll my eyes shaking my head mischievously, "Penso che corrisponda ai capelli rosa" (I think it matches the pink hair) she adds, and I laugh, the ends of his hair still haven't fully lost the pink tinge from when I dyed his hair over two weeks ago. Gabriel's hair products are really cool.

"Are you talking about me?!" Luke splutters, some light flickering in his eyes, even as he playfully narrows them at me and Sang. Then he grabs me with his good arm and starts tickling, he knows it my weakness, luckily S I fast enough to scoop up my plate even while giggling. It's not hard to get away from him though, with his right arm still in a full cast.

Sang takes pity on him after a moment and shows him in a mirror the scribbles across his face, done with what I think is permanent marker, it's going to take a while to get that off. He looks at me straight away, but I hold my hands up shaking my head, when he looks at Sang, who does the same his face becomes super confused. Until S points at the twins. Luke makes a 'you're kidding' face before he looks at their obviously guilty cute little faces.

Considering it's already late, Sang does her best to wash off Luke's face, it doesn't work, and halfway though she's yawning, she basically falls asleep on top of him, her last two weeks catching up to her. He uses his good arm to help me manoeuvre her to his left side, the four curl up as normal between her. I sign at Luke, so that I don't wake her up, don't hurt her! It would destroy everything, I can see you really like her, and she really likes you, I won't be the only one out for your blood if you do something stupid!

I watch the way he looks down at her fast asleep curled into his side, his good arm tightens around her, his face contented, he looks at me and nods. And I know, I know he won't hurt her, his not going to take her from me, instead we just gained another family member.

Hope you liked this

See you soon :)!!!
