PART 9: FULLY RECOVERED
An hour later.
Giyuu was in deep sleep. Sanemi opened the door to check on him, walking in slowly.
He quietly walked over to Giyuu's side and leaned down, gently brushing a stray hair out of his face and watching him breathe.
"You better get better soon." He said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Giyuu held the hand Sanemi used to brush his hair off, nuzzling against it. He was still asleep.
Sanemi swallowed hard, his face turning a shade of pink. He looked away, trying to compose himself before gently squeezing Giyuu's hand in return.
Why the hell are you like this, Tomioka... so annoying!
He thought.
"Mmh... "
Giyuu tossed a little on the bed, before fluttering his eyes open.
Sanemi quickly let go of his hand and took a step back, his face turning even redder. He cleared his throat.
"You're awake..."
He said.
"Sh... Shinazugawa-San..."
Giyuu sneezed.
"I feel cold..."
Sanemi looked at him with worry, his previous annoyance gone.
"You must've caught a cold or something..."
He moved closer and tucked Giyuu back into bed, placing a hand on his forehead to check his temperature.
"You need to rest more and get better. Got it?"
"I'm fine... Really-"
Giyuu was interrupted.
"Don't give me that shit, you idiot! I don't want to see you get any worse. Stay in bed and rest."
Sanemi's tone was stern, but his face still held some worry and concern.
He paused for a while.
"...You hungry? I'll go get something for you..."
"I'm not hungry..."
Giyuu looked at him, his gaze falling to his own hands. He sighed.
"Shinazugawa-San..."
"...What?"
"I apologise for being such a burden to you... But can I ask you for something...?"
Sanemi looked at Giyuu, puzzled.
"...What is it?"
"Could you stay here, with me for some time?"
Sanemi's eyes widened at the sudden request, but he didn't question it.
"Fine, whatever..."
He sat at the corner of the bed, stretching his arms.
Giyuu looked at Sanemi.
"I wanted to tell you something..."
"Spit it out..."
"About... Me visiting you a lot of times... Do you think we can..."
Giyuu paused.
"...Ever be friends...?"
He asked, hope in his eyes.
Sanemi looked at Giyuu, his face almost tired and frustrated with the topic.
"You're annoying as fuck, you know that?"
"Oh... "
Giyuu looked down.
Sanemi watched Giyuu's sudden change in tone. He'd usually not care about Giyuu's feelings, it meant nothing to him, afterall. But somehow, he just wanted to keep Giyuu happy and smiling. He liked it when he smiled, which was a very rare scenario.
"I guess, we can... If you stopped being this gloomy and annoying... You look like you cry every morning before you go outside."
Sanemi said with frustration.
Giyuu's eyes widen.
"I promise I'll try to change..."
Sanemi looked at him, patting his head.
"I'll look forward to that, Tomioka."
He smiled.
Giyuu blushed.
"Th...Thank you!"
Sanemi rolled his eyes.
"No need to thank me now..."
He stood up, walking out of the room.
Giyuu stared at him walk away, a small smile escaping his lips.

A few days had passed by now. Overtime, Giyuu and Sanemi were bonding, but Sanemi wouldn't ever accept it, meanwhile, Giyuu was just happy as Sanemi was talking to him.
Giyuu was completely alright now. It was early in the morning. Sunlight filled the room with brightness in the Wind Estate.
Giyuu fluttered his eyes open, his vision still a bit blurry. He sat up, rubbing his eyelids. He looked at Sanemi, sitting on the corner of the bed with his arms crossed, deep asleep.
Giyuu stared at him.
He's doing all this... For me... Hardly does he get any sleep. How will I ever be able to pay him back for such kindness...?
He thought, looking at his own hands, feeling guilty.
Sanemi's eyes fluttered open all of a sudden, he watched as Giyuu blankly stared at his hands.
"Tomioka?"
Giyuu snaps back into reality, looking at Sanemi.
"Good morning, Shinazugawa-San."
He looked at him, smiling a bit.
"Morning..." Sanemi stood up.
"You feeling better?"
He asked.
"A little bit, yeah."
Giyuu replied, looking up at him.
Sanemi reached his hand out to Giyuu, gesturing him to hold it.
"Come on, on your feet."
Giyuu held Sanemi's hand, slowly getting up.
"You can walk now, right?"
Sanemi asked.
"Yes..."
Giyuu replied.
"Does it hurt though...?"
"Not much, just a little bit here and there."
Giyuu replied, trying to sound frank about the situation.
"Let me help you, if you trip and fall, you'll need to stay here for another few days."
Sanemi wrapped his arm around Giyuu's shoulder, his other hand reaching out to hold Giyuu's right hand.
"Walk nice and slow... There's no need to hurry, okay?"
Sanemi helped Giyuu walk a few steps forward.
Giyuu looked at Sanemi, whose face was inches away from his. Giyuu had a blush spread on his cheeks as he stepped forward.
Sanemi caught Giyuu's gaze, looking at him.
"What?"
He asked.
"N-Nothing..."
Giyuu blushed, this time more evident, looking away.
Sanemi noticed Giyuu's blush and realised how close they really were, he looked away from Giyuu, blushing a bit himself.
Fuck! What's wrong with me, it's literally fucking Tomioka, it's just him! Calm the fuck down, Sanemi...
He took a deep breath.
"J...Just focus on walking how you used to, you'll be able to walk easily on your own in no time!"
Sanemi said, changing the topic.
"Yeah."
Giyuu nodded in response, his blush fading away as he was determined to walk on his own now.
After a few moments, Sanemi asked Giyuu to try walking on his own.
Giyuu nodded, as he attempted to walk how he used to. After a few attempts, it was clear that he had fully recovered.
"There you go! Good job, Tomioka!"
Sanemi hugged him tightly.
Giyuu was caught off-guard, but hugged Sanemi back, smiling softly. He was calm, yet, his heart was pounding inside his chest.
Shit.
Sanemi realised he was being too affectionate over Giyuu, slowly pulling away.
"U-Um... Now you can go back..."
He said, blushing a bit.
"Shinazugawa-San..."
Giyuu hugged Sanemi once again, nuzzling against his neck.
"Thank you, for all the help. I will never forget it."
He said, exhaling softly.
Sanemi's face was fuming red.
"Fuck, alright now! How many times are you gonna thank me, huh?"
He pulled away.
Giyuu looked at Sanemi, tilting his head to the side.
"Your face is red..."
He said, putting his palm over his forehead, checking his temperature.
Sanemi blushed more, swatting his hand away.
"There's no need to fucking care about me!"
He said, finally composing himself.
"I'll look forward to talking to you more someday, Shinazugawa-San."
Giyuu bowed in front of him.
"I loved spending these days with you, even though we're not friends-"
"Shut up!"
Sanemi snapped.
"We... We are friends, okay?"
He said, his face getting redder.
Giyuu's eyes widen, he chuckled softly.
Sanemi looked at him, a deep blush spread on his cheeks.
"I'm glad!"
Giyuu said as he walked away, waving goodbye.
'Goodbye, Tomioka...'
Sanemi waved back.
