PART 82: THE FRESH SNOWFALL!

"A walk?"
Giyuu repeated, tilting his head to the side cluelessly. He crossed his arms, leaning against the bathroom doorway.

"You're trying to distract me, aren't you?"
He accused, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"No, I'm not."
Sanemi chuckled, walking to the mirror to put on his uniform.

"Giyuu, I don't get why you're so restless to know this..."
He muttered, his expression softening as he looked at his reflection in the mirror. His smirk widened.

Giyuu watched Sanemi, noticing the smirk. He raised an eyebrow, but didn't question it. Sighing softly, he switched to his uniform as well.

Sanemi glanced at himself one last time as he fixed haori in front of the mirror. He opened the door and walked out of the room, expecting Giyuu to follow.

He slowly forced the main door open, the fresh cold air hitting his face. He turned around to face Giyuu, reaching his hand out.

"Hold my hand, it's quite chilly out there..."

Giyuu's cheeks flushed a light pink as he looked at Sanemi's outstretched hand. He hesitated for a moment, his heart pounding in his chest.

Finally, he reached out and took Sanemi's hand, trying to hide his blush by looking down at their intertwined fingers.

As the two stepped out in the snow, Sanemi pulled Giyuu closer to him, causing him to blush even more. He glanced at Giyuu, exhaling softly.

"You still mad?"
He asked, his words coming out as clouds of mist in the cold morning air.

Giyuu's cheeks flushed brighter, and he tried to pull his hand away from Sanemi's warm grasp.

However, Sanemi's grip tightened, forcing him to keep holding.

Sanemi chuckled, noticing Giyuu's attempt to pull away. He tightened his hold on Giyuu's hand, pulling him closer until their sides touched.

"Look at you, Giyuu... all red and cute!"
He teased, reaching out to gently stroke Giyuu's cheek with his thumb.

Giyuu's blush deepened to an almost crimson color as Sanemi's thumb brushed his cheek.

He turned his face away, mumbling words Sanemi couldn't make out. Giyuu could feel his heart racing in his chest, making him feel lightheaded.

That's when it started to snow and he paused his anger and looked up at the sky, a snowflake landing on his slightly red nose.

Sanemi looked up at the falling snow, a small smile on his lips. He turned his gaze back to Giyuu, noticing the snowflake on his nose.

Without a second thought, he reached up and gently brushed it off with his thumb, his touch lingering on Giyuu's skin.

"It's snowing..."
Giyuu continued to stare at the sky, his anger melting away at Sanemi's gentle touch.

"It looks beautiful, doesn't it?"
He asked, a soft smile on his face.

Sanemi let out a soft laugh at Giyuu's sincere wonder, watching the snowflakes gather in the shorter man's dark hair.

"Yes, it is..."
He murmured, stepping closer.

Giyuu didn't notice Sanemi stepping closer, too mesmerized by the falling snow. He looked down at the snowflakes settling into the snow-covered land.

"When I was a child... I used to love playing in the snow..."
He murmured, almost to himself.

Sanemi's gaze softened at Giyuu's words, a rare gentle expression on his face.
"Used to? Don't you like it anymore?"

"No, it's not that..."
Giyuu trailed off, still looking at the snow gathering on the ground.

"As I got older, I stopped having time for such childish things..."
He exhaled tiredly, stepping away from Sanemi.

"With time... I forgot these little things I did as a kid- ow!"
Sanemi silenced Giyuu, throwing a snowball at his head.

"Don't act like an old geezer, Giyuu..."
He smirked playfully, already forming another snowball.

"And besides..."
He added with a teasing smile.

"I also loved playing in the snow as a child..."

Giyuu's eyes widened as the snowball that hit him, melted into icy water down his face.

He quickly composed himself, and without hesitation, picked up his own snowball.

"You're asking for it now, Sanemi!"
He lunged at him, chasing him through the snow.

Sanemi laughed loudly, easily dodging Giyuu's snowball.

"Too slow!"
He taunted, quickly forming another snowball.

"You're getting too old for this, Giyuu!"
He threw the snowball, hitting Giyuu square in the face.

Giyuu stumbled back, snowball melting on his face, his expression momentarily frozen in surprise before he burst into a fit of laughter.

He quickly wiped the snow from his eyes, only to see Sanemi already running away again.
"You're going to pay for that!"

Sanemi could hear Giyuu's footsteps crunching in the snow behind him as he ran, laughing mischievously.

He suddenly stopped, pretending to fix his clothes, hoping Giyuu would run right into him.
"Heh heh..."

Without warning, Giyuu slammed into Sanemi, both of them falling backwards into a soft pile of snow. Giyuu ended up on top of Sanemi, panting slightly.

Picking up some snow in his hand, Giyuu smuged it onto Sanemi's cheek softly. He looked down at him with a small, amused smile.
"Got you!"

Sanemi blinked his eyes open, finding Giyuu's face inches from his own.

"You cheated!"
He chuckled warmly before wrapping his arms around Giyuu and pulling him into a warm hug.

"Now you're gonna pay!"

Giyuu laughed warmly, his heart skipping a beat at the hug. He felt a warmth spread through his chest, a feeling he hadn't had in a long time.
He returned the hug before slowly pulling away and getting up.

Sanemi stood up as well, brushing the snow off his clothes. He looked at Giyuu with a soft smile, but he didn't say anything, as if admiring Giyuu.

Tomioka... Isn't he just, perfect?
He thought, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Giyuu noticed the soft smile on Sanemi's face, the way he was looking at him without saying a word.

He found himself standing there awkwardly, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.

He had never seen Sanemi look at him like that before. It made him feel... someway he never felt before.

"L-Look, behind you!"
He pointed at the snow covered peaks behind Sanemi, changing the topic as he awkwardly tried to hide his blush.

Sanemi turned his head to look behind him, his eyes widening at the beautiful snow-capped mountains. He turned back to Giyuu, his smile growing even softer.

"It's so beautiful..."
Giyuu exclaimed, trying to ignore the awkwardness between the two. He ran closer to the peaks, leaving Sanemi behind.

"Don't you... Don't you think so?"
He asked, a hint of shyness in his voice, turning around to look at Sanemi from over his shoulder.

A cold gush of wind blew, Giyuu's hair blowing with it. It was a sight Sanemi admired.

"The colour of the snow, it's fresh, just like your hair!"
Giyuu chuckled nervously, unsure of why Sanemi was still looking at him that way.

"You're right, Giyuu..."
Sanemi said quietly, his smile never leaving.

Giyuu raised his eyebrow curiously.
"Oh come on! What're you looking at in me, Sanemi? Just look around, all this... It's such a beautiful view!"

"Hm?"
Sanemi looked around curiously, his eyes settling back to Giyuu's face.

"I think I'm good, just staring at you like this..."
He mumbled, his voice barely audible.

I could stare at you for an entire day and not get tired, nor would I complain, Giyuu...
He thought to himself, smiling a bit.

Giyuu rolled his eyes, turning away from Sanemi as the cold mountain air brushed his hair away from his face.

He ran closer to the peaks, his eyes sparkling in awe of the beauty of the place. His smile was bright, his heart feeling light and excited.

He ran further away from Sanemi, closer to the peaks.

Sanemi couldn't help but stare at Giyuu, his heart beating quite faster than usual.

Is it just today, or has this been happening to me since days...?

He thought to himself, staring at Giyuu's beautiful dark hair just flowing in the air as he laughed so happily, so freely.

Why... Why do I keep smiling when I see Giyuu these days? I've noticed this, myself... Why has my attitude changed all of a sudden?

He blushed a little, frowning slightly.

It's been a while and I've observed... My eyes search for him for no reason at all...
What's going on?

He questioned himself, confused yet curious.

How did it happen that he is so important to me? Most importantly, since when did all this start to happen to me?
I've never looked at Giyuu the way I'm looking at him now...

Why is it that, I want him more?

More, as in, with me... Every second.

Is it normal? For me to want to keep Giyuu for myself? Forever and ever?

Oh I wonder what Giyuu'd say if I asked him this...

Ugh, This is so confusing!

I don't know why

I want Giyuu

More.
