PART 73: I LOVE YOU TOO...

Giyuu's eyes widened as he looked at the others. He bit his lip, his mind racing.
"B-But... what if he... what if he doesn't want to talk to me? What if he... he hates me?"

Shinobu took his hand, squeezing it gently.

"Tomioka-San, look at me."
She waited till he met her gaze.

"Shinazugawa-San loves you. He might be mad, he might be hurt, but he doesn't hate you... And I know it."

Giyuu's eyes welled up again as he heard Shinobu's words. He took a deep, shuddering breath.

"R-Really? He... he still loves me?"
He asked softly.

His heart pounded in his chest, hoping that Shinobu's words were true.

Obanai face-palmed at Giyuu's question, letting out a tired sigh.
"God! Tomioka... why do you not realise? Shinazugawa could literally die for you, why do you think he wouldn't love you! It's fucking tiring to keep telling you the same thing!"

Giyuu flinched at Obanai's outburst, his eyes wide with shock. He looked down, feeling ashamed.

"I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to doubt it..." He mumbled softly. He took a deep breath, trying to gather his courage.

"Y-You've got this, Tomioka-San! I believe in you! So, no more being sad, okay!? I'm tired of seeing everyone cry!!! Once this is over, we have a festival to enjoy! So, make sure you talk things out well, okay?"
Mitsuri stammered, her tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Y-You're right... I need to talk to him."
Giyuu slowly stood up, his gaze shifting to the starry night sky.

Obanai watched as Giyuu stood up, a small sigh escaping his lips. He looked at Shinobu, who nodded encouragingly. He looked back at Giyuu, stretching his arms.

"Look, you're gonna go meet up with Shinazugawa tomorrow. We'll most likely be at Kocho's. Update us on what happened."

Giyuu nodded, his heart racing in his chest. He looked at Shinobu, then at Obanai, before turning to leave. He paused as he took a step forward.

"I-I'll... I'll let you know what happens."
He said softly before quickly leaving.

Obanai watched Giyuu leave, letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding.
Shinobu watched Giyuu disappear into the distance, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Let's go back. It's getting late..."
She said softly.

She looked at Obanai, her gaze soft.
"Thank you for explaining it all to him."

Obanai looked at Shinobu, who was watching him with a gentle expression. He sighed, rubbing his temples.

"It's nothing, don't mention it. Let's just hope he doesn't mess this up."
He turned around to leave as well.

Shinobu nodded, a small smile on her face. She looked over at Mitsuri who wiped her tears off.

"Let's head back now. Shall we, Kanroji-San?"
She asked.

"M-Mhm!"
Mitsuri nodded, holding Shinobu's hand.

The three walked off, followed by Tengen, who crossed his arms and looked at the sky, deep in thought.

Hope they get back together... This shouldn't last another second.

"I'm home..."
Giyuu muttered softly, stepping into his house.

"Giyuu, you're back..."
Kanzaburou flew up to him, landing on his shoulder.

"Yes..."
Giyuu replied, gently patting the crow's head.

He walked to his bedroom and sat on the bed, his heart racing.

"What's wrong, Giyuu? You seem... Silent?"
Kanzaburou asked, jumping to Giyuu's hands.

Giyuu let out a deep, tired sigh.

"I can't live without Shinazugawa-San... I want him back. I... I need him, next to me!"
He swallowed hard, staring at the ceiling.

"I need to see him tomorrow, I can't live like this! It's so sickening!"
He exclaimed, breathing heavily.

"Have you realised your mistake now?"
Kanzaburou questioned.

Giyuu nodded in response.
"Yes... Shinazugawa-San was saying the truth all along... And this is my fault! For not giving him a chance!"

"There we go... You finally get it."
Kanzaburou rested on Giyuu's hands.

"You finally know that he's been trying so hard."

Giyuu couldn't reply. He thought of how harsh he had been on Sanemi. Soon enough, the room grew silent. But Kanzaburou broke this silence, slowly speaking up.

"Sorai just flew by while you were out today... Said Shinazugawa's losing hope now... Poor guy."

Giyuu's eyes widened.
"Wh-What?"

"He's been trying to get you to talk to him... But you've always done nothing but push him away. I'm surprised how he still tried to visit you after so many failed attempts..."
Kanzaburou replied.

Giyuu couldn't speak at all now, his tears threatening to spill.

Poor Shinazugawa-San! What have I done...?
He covered his mouth with surprise and disbelief.

"It's about time you two get back together..."
Kanzaburou muttered before flying out of the room, leaving Giyuu all alone with just his thoughts.

Giyuu now sat alone in the room, the moon casting long, dancing shadows through the window. He gently closed his eyes, allowing his thoughts to take over.
The memories of Sanemi, played like a broken record in his mind. His heart ached with a hollow, gnawing pain, a constant reminder of what he'd lost.

The remembrance caused tears to form, and he couldn't help but grieve at the loss.

He finally blinked opened his tear-filled eyes, only to find the charm Sanemi gave him next to his bed.

He gasped softly as he saw it, picking it up at once.

"Sh-Shinazugawa-San..."
He muttered softly, tucking the charm into his pocket, keeping it close.

As the night wore on, he found himself overwhelmed by the torrent of emotions. Tears streamed down his face, unchecked and silent, as he curled up on his bed, hugging his worn, faded blanket to his chest.

He couldn't help but think about Sanemi now, his heart pounding every second.

His mind kept him awake, not allowing him to even get a wink of sleep. He still thought of how Sanemi tried so hard just to get him to forgive him. He covered himself with the blanket completely, closing his eyes tightly.

The memories of him cuddling with Sanemi, having fun with him, they all rushed down his thoughts.

Sanemi's smile, his happiness seemed to quiet down Giyuu's sobs, allowing them to morph into shuddered breaths as exhaustion took over.

His eyes, slowly relaxed with each tear that fell. The last thing he saw before sleep claimed him was Sanemi's face, smiling at him as if to say...

I love you.

"I... I love you too."
He murmured very softly as he blushed, his tears soaking the pillow wet.
