PART 31: A FINAL GOODBYE.

As soon as the meeting ended, Sanemi walked back to his Estate.

"Mission with Upper Moon: 3, huh...?"
His mind was completely occupied by the thoughts of his new mission.

"I'll leave tonight... I guess."
He muttered under his breath.

It was mid afternoon when he decided to go for a walk outside one last time before he left for the mission.

"I'll surely miss Tomioka..."
He mumbled as he walked, his mind still fixed on the mission. He had a faint excitement and fear, that made him feel uneasy.

"Ah.... Shinazugawa-San!"

Sanemi's eyes widened, he turned around, his surprised expression turning into that of happiness as soon as he saw Giyuu walking towards him.

"Tomioka!"
He smiled warmly at Giyuu, who was standing right in front of him now.

Giyuu couldn't help but smile back.
"How are you?"

"All good, what about you?"
Sanemi ruffled his hair playfully.

A small chuckle escaped Giyuu's lips as he gently pushed his hand away.
"I am fine..."
His gaze shifted to the sky.

Sanemi followed his gaze, looking at the sunset.
"Sunsets really are pretty... Huh?"

Giyuu turned to look at him, his eyes filled with a gentle warmth.
"Yes... they are..."

A silence fell between the two as they both gazed upon the sunset, enjoying its beauty and serenity.

"Hey, Tomioka..."
Sanemi's voice was energetic as he looked at Giyuu.

Giyuu's eyes shifted to meet his, a subtle smile playing on his lips.
"Yes...?"

He tilted his head slightly, curious about Sanemi's sudden enthusiasm.

"Wanna go... there?"
Sanemi pointed at the top of a mountain in a distance.

"The other day, I heard that the view from the top of that mountain is..."

He leaned closer to Giyuu, his eyes looking deep into his, causing him to blush.

"...really beautiful."

Giyuu's cheeks flushed at Sanemi's gaze, but he didn't look away. Instead, he held his stare, his heart racing slightly.
"I-I would like that..."

"Great, let's go..."
Sanemi held his hand as the two walked to the mountain.

Giyuu's fingers intertwined with Sanemi's as they began to walk up the mountain.

His pace was steady, his grip firm, yet gentle. As the two ascended the mountain, the silence between them was comfortable, broken only by the sound of their footsteps and the rustling of leaves in the gentle breeze.

Once they reached the top, Sanemi looked over at Giyuu who looked at the view, almost lost in it's beauty.

His eyes followed Giyuu's gaze, widening in awe at the breathtaking view before them both.

The setting sun bathed the landscape in a warm, golden light, casting long shadows across the terrain.

"It's... beautiful..."
He murmured softly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Giyuu looked at him, smiling sweetly.
"It sure is..."

Sanemi sighed softly, stepping forward, he looked at Giyuu over his shoulder.

Giyuu followed as the two stood there side by side.

Sanemi slowly sat down.
"Oh... I'm so tired!"
He stretched his arms.

Giyuu looked at him, chuckling softly.

Sanemi looked up at him.
"Quit laughing."

"I'm sorry!"
Giyuu continued to laugh.

Sanemi pretended to be annoyed, though he was unable to hide the small smile that was playing on his lips as he saw the happy and content side of Giyuu.

He pulled Giyuu down, making him sit down next to him.

"Ow..."
Giyuu looked at Sanemi, a soft smile on his face as his heart raced.

"I told you to quit laughing, this is what you get!"
Sanemi tickled Giyuu.

"Ah.. Sh-Shinazugawa-San.... Stop!"
Giyuu chuckled softly.

"Hey... I can't... Take it!"
He breathed heavily.

Sanemi finally stopped, laughing heartily.
"That's what you get!"

Giyuu stared at him, his blush deepening.

"What're you looking at?"

"N-Nothing..."
Giyuu blushed more, rubbing the back of his neck.

Sanemi sighed.
"It really is peaceful here..."

Giyuu looked at him.
"Shinazugawa-San?"

"Hm?"
Sanemi looked at him.

"Why did you bring me here today...?"
Giyuu asked, his head resting on Sanemi's shoulder again.

"Ah..."
Sanemi pretended to think.

"Because I'll leave for a mission tonight."
He replied.

Giyuu's eyes widened, he looked at him.

"A mission?"

Sanemi nodded.
"It's against Upper Moon 3..."

Giyuu gasped softly.
"An Upper Moon..."

"...This is why I brought you here, to spend some time with you before I left..."
Sanemi blushed a little, scratching his head.

Giyuu looked down, his previous smile completely fading.
"Shinazugawa-San... Will you be okay? Is someone coming with you?"

"It's just me... And I'll be fine, Tomioka!"
Sanemi smiled.

"Hmm..."

"Let's just enjoy the moment, idiot!"
Sanemi chuckled, staring at the sky, which was slowly growing darker.

Sanemi stood up, stepping a little closer to the edge of the mountain.

Giyuu stood up after him.
"Shinazugawa-San."

Sanemi turned around.
"Hm?"

Giyuu stepped forward.
"Take this with you..."

He handed Sanemi the charm he was gifted.

"For your goodluck."
Giyuu squeezed Sanemi's hand gently. He looked at Sanemi, his serious and concerned gaze piercing through Sanemi's heart.

Sanemi brushed it off.
"You don't have to worry about me."

He handed the charm back to Giyuu.

"You're the one who needs it, Tomioka. I got it for you. Not for you to give it back to me... But for you to keep it with you."
Sanemi paused taking a deep breath.

"You will keep it. I want you to be safe while I'm away. Away from any problems."
He added.

Giyuu's face twisted with a mix of slight anger, worry and confusion.

"What do you mean I should keep it? I don't even have a mission!"
He snapped.

Sanemi's eyes widened at Giyuu's sudden change in demeanour.

Giyuu pouted, looking at his feet.
"So you're not gonna let me take care of you, huh?"

Fuck... He's upset again...

"Okay... I'll take it!"
Sanemi took it from Giyuu's hand.

"Happy?"

Giyuu smiled.
"Now you'll be safe!"
He said happily.

Sanemi sighed at Giyuu's childish words.

"You're really stubborn, Tomioka-"
Sanemi words were cut off as Giyuu pulled him closer in a warm embrace.

"I-I'll miss you, Shinazugawa-San..."
He blushed, which Sanemi couldn't see.

Sanemi slowly wrapped his arms around Giyuu as a strong gush of wind blew.

"I'll miss you too, Tomioka..."

Giyuu pulled away, taking Sanemi's hands.

"Promise me you'll come back...?"
He squeezed Sanemi's hands.

"Alright, alright! I promise..."
Sanemi chuckled.

It was getting darker.

"Guess it's time to go...? I need to leave tonight..."
Sanemi said as Giyuu nodded.

The two walked down the mountain, ready for the final goodbye.

"Take care of yourself while I'm away,
Tomioka... Don't end up doing something stupid."
Sanemi said.

"You take care of yourself too-"

"Don't care about me, just look after yourself."

Giyuu sighed at Sanemi's words.

He turned around to leave.

"T-Tomioka, Wait!"
Sanemi stopped him, hugging him one last time.
He patted Giyuu's back, smiling softly.

Giyuu smiled back. He waved Sanemi a last goodbye before walking off.

As Sanemi waved back, staring at Giyuu disappear into the distance, he sighed contently.

Tomioka needs that charm more than I do...
He muttered quietly, his voice filled with concern for Tomioka.
