PART 14: A WALK THROUGH THE FOREST.

It was the next morning.

Giyuu woke up as he looked out of the window. It was a pretty windy weather,
the leaves of trees rustling.

Giyuu yawned, slowly sitting up.

"Let's do that some other day... We have plenty of time."
Sanemi's words replayed in his mind.

Just stop it... What is wrong with me?
Giyuu fell back on the bed, staring at the ceiling restlessly.

After calming himself down, he realised it could be because he never usually talked to Sanemi and now Sanemi being nice to him just overwhelmed him.

I should be used to it... Him being nice to me...
Giyuu thought.

He stood up, deciding to take a bath.

He got dressed, walking out. The weather was really windy. He wondered what the others were up to.

A fresh gush of cool wind moved his hair, revealing more of his face.

As he was walking, he heard a faint, calm voice from as distance, humming.

Out of curiosity, he followed the voice, pushing away bushes as he found the Mist Hashira sitting there, all alone.

"Tokito...?"
Giyuu muttered under his breath.

Muichiro heard him, turning towards the older Hashira. He just stared at him, all quiet.

Both of them stared at each other, quietly. But Giyuu decided to speak up,

"What are you doing?"

"I'm making paper planes because I have nothing to do."
Muichiro replied, his gaze shifting back to the colorful papers he had in his hand.

Giyuu's heart sank at the sight of Muichiro sitting there, completely alone.

He could see himself in Muichiro. He was once, all alone as well... Out of sympathy, Giyuu sat beside Muichiro.

Muichiro looked at Giyuu with surprise, as he didn't expect him to sit down next to him all of a sudden.

"You want to fly paper planes too?"
He asked.

Giyuu smiled softly at Muichiro's innocent voice.

"I would like that..."
He said, trying to get along.

"Take this."
Muichiro handed him a blue paper.

"It's like your eyes..."
He added.

Giyuu stared at the paper in his hands, smiling sweetly.

"Thanks."

Mitsuri and Obanai were on a walk together.

"So windy!"
She exclaimed.

Obanai nodded in response.

"Hey..."
Obanai called out.

"Yes?"
Mitsuri looked at him.

"...Is that Tokito and Tomioka?"
Obanai pointed out at Muichiro, who walked around restlessly with Giyuu following him.

Mitsuri squinted her eyes, looking closely.

"I guess it is them! How cute!"
She exclaimed.

Obanai wondered what the two were up to.

"Hand me a plane when I ask for one, Tomioka-San."
Muichiro said.

"O-Okay..."
Giyuu followed from behind, a few paper planes in his hand.

"What are you about to do?"
Giyuu asked.

Muichiro didn't reply.

Sanemi was talking with Gyomei, who was standing under a tree.

"Himejima-San! Why aren't you spending any time with others? Don't you feel bored?"
Sanemi asked the taller male.

"I am, with your presence, Shinazugawa, I don't think I am bored..."
Gyomei replied.

Sanemi tilted his head, puzzled yet, he didn't say anything.

Muichiro took Giyuu's hand, walking faster. He saw Sanemi and Gyomei in a distance.

"Give me a plane."
Muichiro said.

"What are you about to do?"

"Land it..."
Muichiro grabbed a plane, throwing it over to Sanemi.

"...On his head."
He said.

"Tokito! You shouldn't do this... He gets mad very fast and..."

Muichiro didn't seem to care.
With his amazing skills, the plane went straight towards Sanemi.

But instead of landing, it hit him.

"My bad."
Muichiro said quietly.

"What the-"
Sanemi turned around, only to find the two dark haired males in the distance.

"What's the matter, Shinazugawa?"
Gyomei asked.

"These stupid-"
Sanemi walked over to the two.

"Let's go, Tokito..."
Giyuu tried pursuing Muichiro to leave the place but he didn't seem to listen, he stared at the angry Sanemi who approached them.

"What the hell Tokito!? And you too, Tomioka?"
He looked at the two, his face twitching with anger.

"We're sorry."
They said.

"..."

"...That's all you have to say?"
Sanemi paused, sighing out.

"It's my fault, I walked over to you in the first place..."
He face-palmed, looking at the two with disbelief.

He walked away.

"He doesn't like us..."
Giyuu said, his tone changing to sadness.

"Did you want him to like us?"
Muichiro asked.

Giyuu nodded in response.

"I can't help you then..."
Muichiro walked away.

Giyuu stared at Muichiro as he disappeared into the distance. He sighed.

He followed where Sanemi had went.

"I'm sorry, Shinazugawa-San... I was just accompanying him because he was all alone."
He said, waking behind Sanemi.

Sanemi turned back.

"You were seriously making paper planes with him?"
He asked.

Giyuu nodded hesitatingly.

"You're 21, Tomioka."
Sanemi said.

"Please accept my apology..."
Giyuu bowed in front of him.

"Yeah yeah! Stop being so formal with me, Tomioka! Tch you're so annoying!"
Sanemi said, a little irritated.

"Do you forgive me...?"
Giyuu looked up at Sanemi, his voice soft and tender.

Sanemi blushed, looking away angrily.

"Yeah, whatever!"

"Shinazugawa-San..."
Giyuu held Sanemi's hand.

Sanemi was taken aback by the sudden gesture.
"Wh...What?"

"W-Would you like to go for a walk with me?"
Giyuu asked.

Sanemi's eyes widened.

"Like... Now?" He asked.

Giyuu nodded, but he slowly pulled his hand away.

"It's okay if you don't want to-"
He was interrupted as Sanemi grabbed his hand again.

"Who said I didn't want to?"
Sanemi asked, his blush deepening.

Giyuu's eyes sparked with joy as he smiled. It was a rare sight.

"I will go with you, but just to let you know, I'm still mad."
Sanemi replied, causing Giyuu's smile to fade.

"I... I'm very sorry..."
Giyuu stepped closer, closing his eyes as he pulled Sanemi into a warm embrace.

"I never wanted you to feel bad... I just... Didn't want Tokito to be alone..."
He exhaled.

Sanemi stiffened at first, unsure of how to react. After a moment, he slowly wrapped his arms around Giyuu in a hesitant hug.

"Gosh! Why don't you shut up...?"
He blushed.

Giyuu pulled away, only to find Sanemi
still holding onto some of his anger.
He was a bit more calm though.

"Why do you always have to be so annoying? Tch!"
Sanemi looked away, trying to hide his flustered self.

"I-I apologise..."
Giyuu said, his voice filled with the feelings of remorse.

Sanemi's expression softened a little, but his voice still held a trace of annoyance.

"Just try to stay out of trouble for once, okay?"

Giyuu nodded in response.

The two finally decided to walk through the forest together.

Sanemi walked quietly beside Giyuu, his anger slowly dissipating as he watched the peaceful scene of the forest.

After a few minutes of walking, he glanced over at Giyuu, who caught his gaze, looking over at him.

He looked away quickly as he blushed, pretending to be interested in a nearby bird chirping.

"...There- There's a river nearby, let's go check it out."
He said.

Giyuu's eyes widen, smiling softly, nodding in response.

Sanemi led the way through the forest. The sound of the flowing river grew louder as they approached.

"There it is!"
He pointed to a clearing up ahead, revealing a beautiful and peaceful looking river.

Giyuu stared at the river quietly, taking in the beautiful serenity of the place.

Sanemi watched as Giyuu took in the scenery, feeling his anger completely fade away. He walked closer to Giyuu's side, looking at the river with him.

"It's...nice, isn't it?"
He said, his voice barely above a whisper.

Giyuu nodded.
"It's very pretty..."

Sanemi smiled slightly, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. He sat down on a nearby rock, patting the space next to him.

"Come here..."

Giyuu walked over to him, blushing slightly.

Sanemi watched as he sat down next to him, feeling his heart beat faster. He looked over at Giyuu for a moment before turning his gaze back towards the river.

The two sat in silence for a few moments, just enjoying each other's company.

"Shinazugawa-San..."
Giyuu's voice was way sweeter than Sanemi had ever it.

Sanemi looked over at Giyuu for a moment, his heart beating faster as he waited for what he would say next.

"...Yeah?"

"I... I really like it when you're with me."
Giyuu held his hand, squeezing it gently as he looked into his eyes and smiled.

Sanemi's heart skipped a beat as he felt Giyuu's hand in his. He looked down at his hand before turning to meet Giyuu's gaze.
His eyes softened as he saw the smile on his face.

"I..."

"I like it too."
He smiled back, squeezing his hand gently in return.

"It..."
Giyuu hesitated a bit.

"It comforts me.... Shinazugawa-San, when I'm with you, everything just... Feels better."
Giyuu smiled warmly.

Sanemi felt a warmth spread through his chest as he heard those words. Blushing slightly, he looked away to avoid Giyuu's gaze.

"Sh-Shut it..."

Giyuu chuckled softly as he leaned, resting his head on Sanemi's shoulder.

Sanemi gasped softly when he felt Giyuu's head rest on his shoulder, his breath hitching slightly.
After a few moments of hesitation, he wrapped an arm around Giyuu's shoulders and pulled him closer.

"You're fucking irritating, you know that?"

"I'm sorry..."
Giyuu closed his eyes, exhaling softly.

"It's just..."

"It's just that I feel different when I'm with you..."
He muttered under his breath, relaxing as the cool breeze blew.

"Oh God... Shut up already, Tomioka!"
Sanemi blushed, looking away. He kept quiet for a moment as the gentle breeze and the sounds of the river calmed him down slowly.
He closed his eyes, taking in a deep breath of the cool breeze.

Tomioka...

Tomioka is really something... Huh?
He laughed to himself quietly, leaving Giyuu clueless.
