-Samantha-
When I arrived at Nathan's practice they were just warming up with stretches. I sat down on the first row of bleachers and sat my book bag down next to me. I unzipped it and as I did I pulled out a small bag of potato chips, I glanced over as opened them and notice that the gym partition was down.
That's right Victoria did say that cheerleading practice was today too.
I looked up when I heard the rustling of my chip bag, Nathan stood in front of me with one of my potato chips in his hand, then he ate it. "Hey! Get your own!" I exclaimed.
Nathan chuckled, "But what if I want some of yours?"
"Then please ask first," I told him. "And take those bandages off your hands," I added. The bandages that I was referring to were white gauzes like bandages, that Nathan kept wrapped around his hands whenever he wasn't working out or had practice.
Nathan unraveled the bandages very carefully when he was done, he tossed them on the bleachers next to me. "Can I have some now?" He asked me.
I smiled at him, "Sure you can." I said holding out the bag.
He took a handful of chips out of the bag. "Not to be rude or anything, Sam but you look awful," he told me.
I glared at him, "Well you'd look awful if you hadn't slept in three days," I snapped.
I was lying Nathan worked out constantly, and while he didn't have a big, buff, body he had a lean one with lots of toned muscle and was six foot two compared to my five foot four that's saying something.
He frowned, "I really think you should try sleep aids again, Sam. Especially if you haven't slept in three days," he suggested.
"Actually I've managed to get three hours in but you know sleep aids don't work on me," I sighed.
Nathan ruffled my hair gently, "You'll be okay, I have to go do the Aerial cartwheel," he told me.
"Hey! We're not kids anymore stop messing up my hair," I mumbled as I fixed my brown hair.
Nathan, however, was already walking away to go practice.
Oh whatever, I'm just going to play Turbo dismount on my phone until I get bored or something.
I don't really get bored of virtual test dummies crashing into things while in ridiculous looking cars, it's more that I notice my phone battery is down to fifty percent as I'm playing. I instantly stopped knowing that if I didn't stop when I did, I would just switch to another app to amuse me.
I reached down and opened my book bag then I pulled out a notebook, a pencil, and an eraser. After I had all those things I began sketching my dream that I had today in my notebook again. I didn't like having one of my drawings in my art books it felt odd, incomplete I guess.
After I finished the sketch I laid it out face up to let the graphite settle and dry, then I turned and unzipped my purse taking out my PlayStation Vita. One of the reasons I carried a purse was to carry portable gaming systems it made thing a whole lot easier.
I held down the start button on the top and after a few seconds it started up with, the head of a werewolf howling at the moon on the screen along with the date and time. At the moment it was three fifty pm. I flicked my hand across the touchscreen and a moment later the main screen appears blaring the loud, random, rock music.
Crap, crap, crap, crap! I forgot that the last time I played this I was alone.
I saw Nathan look over at me and snicker as I frantically got the volume to go down and I felt my face turn red. I quickly flipped him off but that only caused him to laugh. I let out a sigh and went back to my video games.
I was in the middle of playing Super Monkey Ball when I saw something flickering out of the corner of my eye. I paused my game and looked up when I did I saw that my shadow was smirking at me, I froze and my eyes went wide.
My game console slipped out of my hands and onto the floor with a loud clatter, causing the virtual monkey to careen off the cliff and die however at the moment though I could care less.
"Sam, Samantha."
I glanced around the room I even looked at everyone who was practicing, but they weren't even looking at me they were busy. Finally, my eyes landed back on my smirking shadow. My skin felt oddly cold like the school AC was cranked up way too high.
"Sam, Samantha,"my own shadow said softly to me. I started gasping for air like I was a fish, then I screamed.
