Homes
*lil baby timeskip of half an hour* (timehop?)
Virgil shut the door on the spy, and sighed.
De wasn't going to be happy, but he wouldn't hurt Virgil.
Despite his darker morals, he'd never hurt his little brother.
Hi, I just wanted to clarify something here: although I have used decite falsely claiming to be family of a character in a previous story, he IS genuinely Virgil's older brother in this one.
Thanks.
Hell, he tried to keep Virgil as safe as possible, only going to him when he truely needed help, and, without Virgil knowing, planting his most trusted people to keep him safe.
Virgil didn't exactly enjoy working against him, but he was essentially raised by his cutthroat brother and his gang so he understood the sad truth: you can't swim with sharks and be afraid to spill some blood in the water.
Virgil's actions (though he'd NEVER admit it, where akin to an attention staved child, with his brother the distant and cold parent.
But, like some seemingly distracted careers, decite did indeed care about his little brother, but revealing this would put him in danger.
Virgil sat down on his bed and dialed a number.
"You've reached dominos, what can I get ya?"
The wording and tone left a lot to be desired but it was nearing midnight so that was understandable.
"Small hawian and a small cheese dilvered to: 123 fake address."
There was a pause while the order was written down, and then
"For who?"
"Names Virgil."
" 'right, it'll be bout half an hour"
They hung up.
Rude, but it was very late.
When the pizzas arrived, Virgil's roommate was yet to return.
He placed the cheese in the fridge and left a note saying that it was there, before falling into bed, asleep in moments.
Decite black surveyed the city from his balcony, smirking.
It was easy to hide in plain sight, an up and coming enteprner to the public, but any one who knew anything about the truth knew that this was his city, if not his country.
No, he didn't have the fame, the glory or any of the benifts, of leadership but he was almost indisputably in power.
Almost.
A group calling themselves the agency which wasn't a pretentious name at all Stood in his way, but with his technology, with his master plan, they wouldn't be standing much longer.
They were going to stand down, or everything was going to burn.
Patton heart slipped into his shared apartment, hoping not to awaken his roommate.
He didn't.
He read the note on the counter headed to the fridge and began reheating his meal.
Virgil was a good roommate and a great guy, truly.
But he underestimated Patton.
He knew more then he let on.
No- he didn't know the details but he knew that Virgil was caught up in shady business.
The child psychology student just hoped Virgil knew he was on his side, and always would be there for him.
Logan Holmes logged out of his laptop and stowed his headset.
Although he knew full well that Roman was both his partner in the field and his housemate, Roman knew nothing of his identity and he hoped to keep it that way indefinitely.
Roman was an honourable man, but that didn't mean Logan liked him... he was to 'extra' as the kids would say.
Logan sat down on his bed, and did a meditation exercise before finally falling asleep.
Roman climbed in through the window (given they had a 8th story apartment it would have been impressive to you or me, but child's play to an agency member such as Roman.) he'd take the door, but for reasons of— who was he kidding—he'd forgotten his keys and didn't want to wake logan.
Logan was weird.
They'd lived together for almost two years but Roman could count on one hand the amount of times he'd seen him out of his room (4- [5 if you count the time roman had entered his room]) and the amount of times they had spoken-1.
He seemed ok though.
Keep quiet, never made a mess, always had his half of the rent.
Roman slipped into bed, dreading the next day given how late he got to bed, pondering Logans strangeness and contemplating what he'd done to anxiety.
He hoped that wouldn't come back to haunt him.
CHOOSE
Logan
Virgil
Decite
Roman
Patton
Basically this choice is who the next chapter will foucas on; everyone knows something significant and to save the world you need to figure out who knows what, and make sure the characters know to. But where to start?
Also just a quick an to go check out my oneshot book if you have a request lol
