this oneshot was very very heavily inspired by the following song, you don't have to play it, completely up to you, but here it is. I'll leave a moment for you to start it if you choose to listen so... yeah!

it was the anniversary of your wedding, you and Roman, forever together... until he the day Roman joined the military, you didn't want him to at first, you having just gotten married but the look in Roman's eyes as the thought about protecting his country, the home he loved, you... you couldn't tear that away from him.

so here you were, walking around the park where you met your darling prince, where he'd caught you, those strong arms, his gorgeous eyes, everything you missed. you reached up to touch the locket hanging around your neck, a photo of both of you at your wedding. it was a beautiful wedding, Roman made sure you had nothing but the best.

tears leaked down your cheeks as you continued walking. it was a bright day, one Roman would like, pulling you along as he skipped, a rose on your hair. you smiled sadly at it. and soon began walking towards the Sanders house.

Logan greeted you at the door after you knocked, a small smile on his face as you tried to smile, wiping your tears. he happily took your hand as Remus came out to meet you, you see... in Roman's honor you and Remus wanted to watch a disney marathon, something Roman would approve of. 

Remus and you walked upstairs and you walked into Roman's untouched room, the lingering smell of roses and chocolate faint yet still present in the air. you sniffled a little, running your fingers gently over the stuffed animal he'd gotton on your first date. reminding you of the small stuffed dragon he'd gotten you right before he left, he kissed it and gave it to you, claiming now you had something of him where ever you went, and you just had to kiss it and he'd know how much you care for him.

you ran your fingers over the journal still open, the untouched love letter he penned to you in his own hand, the gold handled hairbrush that he treasured and only let you use. it all reminded you of him, as tears lightly leaked down your cheeks. 

Remus had also found his way into the room, scanning the different drawings Roman had hung up in his room, Remus' drawings, after they'd had a heart to heart. how close they'd gotten, loving finally as brothers should.

soon enough you and Remus sat down on Roman's couch, and Remus handed you the silky bright red blanket that Roman had, still smelling of him. you snuggled up and Remus hit play. you both cried during some movies, but if was mainly because you both knew what joke Roman would make.

the hours sped by and you soon enough heard the soft sobs coming from Remus, turning to look at him. you rubbed his shoulder gently. as he just cried.

"how could I waste so many years..." he mumbled crying and you just rubbed his back soothingly. soon enough Remus stopped crying, before glancing at the TV, however you were interupted by Janus knocking at the door, feeling awkward. Janus and ROman hadn't always gotten along and Janus was afraid of stepping into Roman's space.

"Remus, y/n... we are going out to dinner and you need to come..." Janus said.

"I don't want to eat out, now without Roman." Remus sniffled, but Patton walked in too.

"Roman made you both promise to be happy while he was gone." Patton said, as Janus walked over and picked Remus up, carrying him out of the room and going to get changed out of Remus snot-cover shirt. while Patton walked up to you.

"I think you should wear this..." Patton said, pulling a gorgeous outfit from the closet, one that was everything you'd wanted in clothes, all in one gorgeous piece. at first you tried to refuse but Patton disagreed, Logan walking in to help you with your hair.

you didn't know at the time, but you just figured it was because of the anniversary. Virgil brought in shoes and all of you walked to the car where Remus and Janus were waiting. after you were all in Logan started driving to the beach, where you and Roman had proposed. it was such a special place and you nearly cried again... (if you were wearing makeup Patton convinced you to wear waterproof makeup)

you stepped out of the car, the soft, salty breeze blowing your hair softly, a gorgeous night, Patton led you and Remus to the beach side, a small blanket all set up, red rose pedals, Roman's trademark, sprinkled all around. you sat down softly, staring at the ocean, the night had already fallen, and the starts were just beginning to shine.

Remus was about to sit next to you when Patton grabbed him and pulled him back, saying how Remus needed to help them unpack the picnic. of course it was a picnic, Roman always brought you here for picnics, so it just made sense.

you heard Remus screaming but figured he'd just shut his fingers in the trunk... again. you heard soft footsteps in the beach and saw Patton walking in front of you, carrying one lit candle. Logan doing the same. and Remus walking up before setting a beautiful rose flower crown atop your head, tears streaming down his face, as his unsteady breath went past grinning lips. he quickly took an extra candle from Logan. you didn't notice the rose tucked into Remus belt.

they all circled around you as with soft smiles. you didn't look behind you, just staring at them. you didn't notice the strong footsteps behind you on the sand. you did though, notice the soft violin and guitar music staring up. and the one, majestic voice starting to ring out.

"Can't say, how the days will unfold... can't say what the future may hold, but I want you in it... every hour... every minute." the voice of your beloved prince rung out against the calm waves, you spund around and came face to face with Roman both of you crying.

you reached up, as he continued to sing. running your fingers over his cheek, noticing a small scar near his left eye. you hesitated before running your fingers through his hair, as he smiled, his gorgeous chocolate eyes scanning yours, tears in them as well.

his hands lightly brushing over your face and down your sides lovingly. as his voice kept ringing out, the violin and guitar ringing out too. you kept scanning his face in disbelief. tears leaking down your face.

"all I want to do... is come running home to you... home to you... and all my life I promise to, come running home to you." Roman sung still, his finger rubbing softly over your wedding ring as he went to hold your hand. his other hand now holding your face.

he continued singing before reaching the last line, the beautiful melody, Roman standing right infront of you, everything being so overwhelming.

"keep running home.... home to you." Roman finished singing, before you both kissed with passion, and longing. all those feelings in between your lips, Roman's hand brushing through your hair, as you cupped his cheek in your hand, the other intertwined with his fingers.

he lifted you up in his arms still kissing you, til you had break for air. Patton was crying at the beauty of that, logan was wiping the tears for his eyes and glasses. while Remus had snot running down his face and tears in his eyes, but with a huge smile, you turned to see even Virgil and Janus tearing up, setting their instruments back in the cases. they had worked together just to make this perfect for you.

Roman kissed you again, his lips still tasting of rose and chocolate, the tears from his own cheeks lightly wetting yours. his hands brushing over your hair, your arms and waist. before cupping your jaw again. both of you breaking for air. Logan, Patton and Remus all set down their candles around you, Virgil and Janus also bringing candles creating a heart shape around you and Roman, who were now both sitting, you on Roman's lap, staring at the ocean and the stars above. 

Logan soon brought down some different foods before taking the others to go grab McDonalds. Remus smiled widely, so glad Roman was home, before he and Janus walked back to the car. you and Roman both looked in hte picnic basket to find a cake, the same cake from your wedding. and you both fed eachother slices, like you had one year before...

after the others had left you curled up into Roman's chest, while he held you, cuddling on the beach. and you both told stories of missing each other. each story Roman tightening his grip on you, before you started stargazing. 

soon enough you'd fallen asleep against Roman's chest. your lovely face against him as he kissed you once again softly, whispering in Spanish about his unending love for you. he lifted you and set you in his car, a key to your shared house ready. the one you'd put together but neither lived in.

he blew out the candles, and packed up the things, quickly putting them in the trunk of the car. after a short carride home Roman carried you over the doorstep, and upstairs to the masterbedroom. before setting you on the bed and cuddling once again. it had been agony to leave you, but he smiled. promising that no matter what he would always keep running home to you.
