Preference #33: The sides comfort you after you fight with parents

Hello there, thank you so much for reading and I hope you like this one. Family sucks sometimes and I don't know... I at least found a little bit of comfort in this one and I hope you do too. as always please keep it clean and Patton friendly

I know this is a sensitive subject for a lot of people and what I write might not be accurate  for everyone's unique situations. it's not meant to make light of anything, but merely just... comfort? I dunno, just sorta a disclaimer

Warnings: family, angry parents, screaming, fighting, Remus thinking Remus-y thoughts, broken vases, fits of rage, implied mild verbal abuse possibly (please let me know if you see anymore and I will add them)

Logan:

you walked into the house as more and more tears misted your eyes, seeming like little dew drops gathering on the surface and spilling down your cheeks, warm, yet salty like the ocean. it wasn't like this was the first time, heck this happens every time, yet still you go back

you didn't notice the soft footsteps at the door, or the sad look Logan gave as he sat down next to you again. his hand wrapping around your own, the way his calm, long breathes seemed to help you steady your own.

"I don't know why I'm doing wrong Lo... I try so fricken hard to understand them, to make them proud... why... why can't we just have a conversation. a conversation like real adults... It-" you spoke, unintentionally working yourself up as more tears decided it was time to flood down your cheeks softly.

"you are trying your very best, firefly, and... if they don't wanna accept you. that is a them problem, and I know they are your guardian but... that doesn't mean that they have a right to be... close to you if you don't want them to be..." Logan said gently, as he rubbed your shoulder softly, staring at you with his walnut brown eyes, and pale, button nose.

"I just... I-" you cried again, in a lightning motion wrapping your arms around his shoulder and crying softly into his chest, as he simply and slowly wrapped his arms around you too.

"I... I don't wanna say who's right or wrong, because... it doesn't matter, you... you are hurt, and it's okay to feel like that, they do not have a right to hurt you, they are stupid humans, just like us, and... that's an okay thing to be." Logan whispered, you and him both knowing it was unusual of him to call himself stupid but it was okay. it might hurt now, but... it'll be okay.

Patton:

you quietly walked out the front door, walking softly to the car and hopping in the passenger seat, staring at the glove box as you shook your head, answering the question in Patton's eyes as his shoulders seemed to slump.

Patton hand softly held your own as he drove, the tears and soft sobs. tears streaming down your face, it was unexpected, maybe that's why it hurt so much, why it seemed to affect you so much. there were merely other humans on this large planet... it shouldn't hurt

you couldn't help but feels Patton's gaze flicker towards you ever time you stopped at the red light, the way his breath seemed to hitch jut a little bit, your trying to steady your breathing as questions flooded your mind

"Patton... do you think I made a mistake..." you spoke softly as Patton's gaze gathered over your  face before he shook his head, his eyes still on the road, but soft tears leaking down his cheeks as well

"I think that they should respect you, you're a human too and... you deserve respect, and you deserve acceptance for whatever choices you make, and... it's wrong for them to have reacted the way they did... I... think that you're amazing, no matter what. and I'm here to support you no matter." Patton said, turning into your shared house.

"I don't want it to... hurt so much." you sniffled, but Patton merely shook his head, turning to you after the car was parked and turned off, his thumb already reaching to wipe a tear away. his face sad too, but calm, strong for you

"you can't stop that, and pretending you aren't is only gonna hurt you... and... it's okay to be hurt, if... they can't support you, then it's completely fine to find a new family, friends, and surround yourself with people that do." Patton said softly, kissing your nose softly, before hugging you tightly.

Roman:

you walked into you and Roman's shared room, tears streaming down your cheeks as Roman soon entered as well. it was difficult to not know what was up as you screamed with your parents for what felt like hours, much crying and screaming matches, before you walked away, upstairs, Roman asking them to step outside before coming to help.

you knew Roman was behind you but that didn't stop you from kicking the wooden chair right next to your desk, ignoring the throbbing in your foot and Roman's obviously flinch at your anger as you screamed before taking several breaths, standing still.

Roman hardly said a word, but merely watched as your fist flew out connecting with the ceramic vase that let out a sickening sound as it smashed to the floor. a silent shock in both you and Roman as you turned, making eye contact.

but instead of anger in Roman's eyes at his gorgeous white vase and broken roses, his face held pity as he merely walked closer, his lips a thin line, and his brow knit, the way he gently lifted you in his arms, and walked you to the couch and the tender kiss that he planted on your forehead saying more than words, as he went, quickly picking up the vase.

the tears that seemed to stream down your cheeks as he soon joined you, running a hand through your hair, trying not to messy it but also calm you. the way, his eyes searched you, both of you staring at the wall.

"they are right..." your breathed out, as Roman simply took a deep breath.

"true... but that doesn't change that what you're feeling, and your feelings are valid regardless." Romans surprisingly hushed tone whispered as you huffed again, too tired of fighting to do anything. Roman by your side, and he's gonna stay. no matter what

Virgil:

Virgil walked in, the lights dimmed slightly, having accidently walked in on an argument with your parents and you storming up the stairs, hands over your face, tears streaming down it as you thought, Virgil very close to screaming at your parents himself, yet he managed to choose restrain this time

he couldn't even bring himself to say much as he sat down on your bed, waiting softly, for whatever you wanted, in no way rushing you or wanting you to feel somehow bothered by his presence, I mean of course he would leave if you were to ask, but he didn't want to be absent if you needed him.

it was complete silence as you crawled over, resting your tired face on his shoulder, as he draped his arm around your back slightly, the two of you just breathing for a few moments, the sound of silence filling your ears, calming but eerie as well

"they're right, I... I haven't been doing everything I need to, I haven't been doing good enough" you said softly, your voice cracking slightly, as you gripped onto his hoodie softly, Virgil's eyes softening as he glanced towards your face, only seeing the back of your head, as he moved to wrap his other arm around you too

"they... they are so wrong... if only they could see how much... stuff... you go through..." Virgil mumbled, as you merely sniffled, Virgils grip tightening a bit, a comfort really, to have someone to listen, someone to hold you close.

it felt like hours before either of you moved, Virgil only moving to stick an earbud in his ear, offering you the other, as soon soft lofi beats filled the air along with your breathing, both steady, unmoving, and the constant reminders that things... are going to be okay

Janus:

the rain softly pattered against your shoulders as you walked the small pathway around the park, ignoring your phone as it buzzed softly, salty tears brimmed and leaked, you hadn't meant to screw up, but it always happened.

every time you tried it just seemed to get harder and the walls seemed to get closer, boxing you in, keeping you there, the constant reminders, the constant pressure to be everything you as a human could never be. perfect.

you hadn't even realized your feet had led you right to Janus front porch, but you didn't knock against the familiar oak door, merely sitting down on the steps, staring into the gloom, tears leaking down your cheeks

you hadn't even notice, as Janus did that you had set off his porch light, the door opening softly, as Janus sweeping footsteps grew closer. him sitting down next to you and staring into the darkness.

"they screamed, I don't know what I did wrong Janus, it's always something..." you mumbled against the sharp, loud breeze, the coolness of it causing you to shiver. this fact didn't go unnoticed to Janus while he thought.

"maybe... you haven't done anything at all, people are fickle things and It isn't your responsibility to keep them happy all the time, and trying too will... only hurt yourself, my dear" Janus spoke, his voice slicing, sharp against the wind.

then, without another word you were lifted and brought gently inside, your phone into a bag of rice to try and fix from the water damage, and everything else. and Janus gently resting his cape around you. softly, and gently, not perfect, but it never needed to be

Remus:

Remus could only watch as the screaming got louder, you flinching against their bitter, cold tones. Remus fighting the urge to go feral right there and kidnap you like you were merely something he could take, give a better life

the way you screamed in defense of him making his knees weak along with the mighty conflict of emotion in that moment, Remus not use to such a sensation. as he watched, your eyes holding a fire he's never seen before.

the venom leaked in your words as well before you merely took his hand and walked out the door, slamming it behind you both as you walked towards the car, parked a few blocks away, Remus not being able to break his gaze from you the minute you took his hand.

"I'm sorry, Remus... you didn't need hear all that... you don't deserve all the things they called you." you said in a huff, kicking a rock right into the picket fence, it sticking right into the wood as you stormed, holding it hand tightly.

"Panda bear? Thank... you... they weren't wrong, but you didn't have to defend me... I don't understand you sometimes" Remus said, his tone softer than it usually was as you reached the car.

what you did next surprised even Remus, as you merely grabbed his sash, yanking him down to your level before smashing your lips right into his, and hopping into the car, drivers side obviously, as who really trusts Remus to drive.

"anything I can help you with when we get home?" Remus asked, as a smirk grew on his face you keeping your eyes to the road.

"don't kill anymore mice tonight... especially not in our bed." you mumbled, as Remus sighed but smiled love struck. so touched you were willing to stand up for him, even if it was against your parents.

thank you so much for reading and I really hope you liked it. this one has been on my mind for quite a bit and i thought it's about time I went and wrote it. I really hope you like it or found it comforting in anyway, this probably could be considered a vent piece but I am not sure. updates are probably unsteady as for the near future and sadly requests are still going to be on hiatus for a while, As always the artwork isn't mine, so please give credit to the amazing artist! Please remember you are love and special!
