Preference #26: How you Met

Hello, so I'm doing some throwback preferences, because I'm working on some longer ones now, and I still think that these are kinda cute. I'm super sorry it took me so so long to do this, it seriously took me forever. I really hope this is worth the wait! Thank you so much for reading and I really hope you like it! As always please keep comments clean and Patton-friendly!

Logan:

you groaned as you ran around the building again, staring at the address on the package. you'd agreed to deliver this as a favor for a friend, bad news, they never told you where on earth this person was. so here you were running around an office people staring at you as you got more and more nervous.

you sighed walking up the stairs to another floor, sighing as you clutched your side, you'd defiantly not expected running around this much, or you would've brought your running shoes. but here you were, holding the package, and texting your friend. when they said the 27th floor you nearly threw your phone at the wall, you were on the 7th floor now, and there was no way you were running up 20 more flights of stairs.

you spotted an elevator and ran towards it, the doors closing as your ran. you made it, your shoe quickly catching on the side, launching you right in. someone quickly grabbed your waist, keeping you from falling on your face. the strong hand helped you back to your feet while your cheeks erupted into a deep pink. you just awkwardly stood there until.

"you do realize you are standing on my foot?" the tall man said while you blushed, squeaking and practically throwing yourself off of his foot. he turned to you with an eyebrow raised.

"I do not believe you told me what floor you are headed to." he said,

"oh... 27." you mentioned. and he nodded not moving. and you saw it was already pressed.

"what is your name, you aren't from around here." he said and you hold him, glancing down at the package reading the name that drove you insane, trying to figure out who it was. who on earth was Logan Berry Sanders?

you both walked out and he nodded walking towards a cubical complex and you nearly kicked the walls. you called your friend on the phone walking into the cubical complex, and following their tired directions until you found yourself in the same cubical as elevator dude.

"I'm sorry, I must be lost... do you know where I can find Logan Berry Sanders?" you asked and he stood up. a wide expression on his... quite handsome walnut-brown eyes, his ebony hair, his pale skin with pale pink lips, and his dark glasses that were smudge-less.

"I am Logan Berry Sanders, may I ask why you request me by name?" he asked taking a step towards you. you and nodded, a blush still covering your face.

"Hello, this is for you, from Patton..." you said handing him the package. and Logan nodded before looking at you, and a slight flicker of pink on his cheeks.

"I apologize, I did not realize you were a friend of Patton, would you like me to escort you outside?" Logan offered and you nodded, he lightly took your hand and led you down and out, with a soft smile he turned and walked inside. both of you blushing softly.

Patton:

you walked around the unfamiliar park, Tulip tugging at the leash as you both walked along the slightly cracked path. the soothing sound of a lake nearby, along with the angry quacks of the ducks and geese.

The gorgeous park seemed to sparkle this time of year, the beautiful cherry-blossom's in full bloom, light falling out one by one as the wind blew on them softly. your eyes quickly glancing at the sky as Tulip continued to pull you along.

the path was very unfamiliar, as you'd just started going to this park, the one in your hometown was less... friendly. It was hard for such a tight-knit community to accept anyone, and you quickly became the gossip of the town

as with most of the time, people loose interest, and gossip moves on, but that sadly wasn't the case. boring town. thousands of miles from your family, all alone in hopes for a better job and a place to call your own.

Your mind was so lost in thought you didn't notice Tulip sprinting all of a sudden, pulling you forward as you yelped, trying to catch up, as she yanked the leash that was clamped in your hand. you didn't notice the man right in front of you til you slammed into his chest, throwing you to the ground.

Tulip was not jumping on his leg as you heard his speak, you still a little too dizzy from being suddenly knocked to the ground to hear was he was saying. you blinked your eyes a few times before looking up. when you finally did, your heart went boom.

"that looked like quite a fall... are you okay?" he said concerned. you took his hand, blushing as he easily lifted you, a lot strong than he looked, his lovely caramel brown eyes. his fluffy dirty blond-ish brown hair, his freckles pale skin. just wow.

"I'll...be fine." you whispered, a little awestruck, and He didn't let go of your hand though, smiling at you happily, innocently.

"can I pet them?" he asked, pointing at your dog that was trying to jump on his legs. you nodded, and he smiled, leaning over and petting, also baby-talking to your dog while their tail just wagged happily.

"do you walk here often?" he asked, looking up at you with a smile. you lightly bit your lip, wondering if you should tell this completely stranger about your neighborhood or not. sure you'd just met him, but you just had such a gut feeling he wasn't bad

"just started, my new neighborhood... isn't neighborly." you said, and Patton nodded sympathetically before offering you a hand.

"I'd love to show you around, if you want? maybe we could grab some hot chocolate?" He asked, hopefully. you nodded, taking his hand. making your first friend in this strange place.

Roman:

you smiled as a soft breeze blew softly by you. nestled in the branches of a great oak, the leaves all different shades of green as they hid you softly in the foliage. your pencil/pen making a soft noise as it glided easily over the paper, in a calming pattern.

you often enjoyed crawling up this tree to draw, or listen to music. it was tall enough for people not to see you and it had an amazing view of a the lake, with the glistening waters, it felt like a little patch of escape from life.

but as all escapes, you get found eventually. and this is what happened this fateful day. you continued to doodle, your mind wandering as the smells of the beautiful flowers glided around the air, the soft chirping of birds in other trees, and the sound of a loud soccer match going on.

you zoned it out as you continued to doodle. loving the way the lines were forming. the smell of the oak supporting you. things were perfect... for about 30 seconds. you didn't see the soccerball flying towards you til it hit the tree and then you. had you been paying attention you would've held onto the oak, but being too caught up in your own world had its disadvantages

you let out a scream as you tumbled out of the tree your notebook flying down, slightly farther down than you were. closing your eyes you braced for the painful impact of the fall. the ground that would surely break your arm at such an angle.

but the impact didn't come as you expected it, instead you felt two very strong arms wrap around you, you being pulled into someone's chest easily. and their knees bent, supporting the weight.

you smelled a faint scent of chocolate and roses as you were steadied in their arms, your eyes still glued shut. as you breathed deeply, still processing how you were not on the ground with a broken arm.

you gently opened your eyes to see someone looking down at shock towards you. Cocoa-brown eyes, cinnamon-brown hair, and lightly tanned skin, rosy, soft lips, with a small freckle under his left eye. he was staring at you in shock as you took in his features.

"Fair one, are you okay?" he asked, setting you down gently not breaking eye-contact.

"yeah... thanks." you blushed a little, as he continued to stare, a faint pink gathering on his cheeks as well. he spotted your notebook quickly swooping down and picking it up, he dusted a little grass of it, seeing the doodle.

"did you draw this." he said, offering you the book at you took it, nodding. the man smiled as you took the book, your fingers brushing. he lightly reached over, brushing a leaf from your head before pulling his hand away.

"Roman, Roman Sanders." he said, bowing lightly as you smiled at him.

"y/n, y/n y/l/n?" you said, bowing a little too as he smiled. all of a sudden you were shoved to the side by someone in black and green.

"oh good, I thought we'd lost it!" the mustache man said, while Roman glared.

"your knocked this lovely individual out of the tree" Roman said, before turning to you.

"please, let me get you a cupcake or cup of tea to apologize. he said, offering his hand, and surprisingly, you took it.

Virgil:

You sighed, same old job, same old place. day after day, the constant buzzing of the cash register. the snarling of grumpy people as they demanded that their expired coupons be valid. you hated the job, but there wasn't much else place that would hire you, and bills needed to be paid.

you just finished dealing with a Karen when the most interesting figure walked up, he had fluffy chocolate-brown hair, dyed purple at the tips, almost vampire-like pale skin, soft pink lips, with tiny dark-brown freckles dotting his nose and cheeks. with his dark eye-shadow jumping out.

he held two simple items, a box of pasta, and a bag of cheesepuffs. he walked up, setting the two items on the belt as they rolled towards you. you quickly and expertly checked the items. and quickly sticking them in a bag.

"That's 3.09" you said, looking up to see him already staring at you, awestruck. he quickly broke his eyes away, a deep pink blush quickly growing on his face. he handed you a 5. you went to give him his change but he put merely grabbed it and stuck it in your tip jar, walking out with groceries in hand, with a small wave before he went rushing out.

the next person demanded you help them, snapping you out of your trance, but you'd continue to remember Cheese-puff man the entire rest of the day. his eyes seeming to stare into your soul, a blush growing your cheeks when you thought about him

the next day he came in again, again hopping in your line. and again tipping you with a small smile. you smiled back, both you blushing this time. he moved on and you continued with your work, being enchanted by his smile.

that pattern continued until one fateful day. you saw he walked in, however not alone like usual, he was hand in hand with a taller man in a white shirt and red scarf who was dragging him around. while he rolled his eyes.

mentally kicking yourself, you sighed. Of course he was taken, how could a cutie like himself be single... what were you thinking. you continued scanning items, hoping cheese-puff man and his handsome boyfriend wouldn't hop in your line, but life hates you sometimes, and they both ended up in your line.

the man in white waltzed right up to you, a dashing smile on his face.

"are you the one emo-nightmare was talking about." the man said, while the cheese-puff man whacked him, shoving him out of the way. you scanned quickly. lots more items, yet still a bag of cheese-puffs.

"sorry about Roman, he doesn't know when to shut up." the man said softly, you shrugged, scurrying to bag the items, the emo moving quickly to help you. causing both your hands to brush when you both grabbed the cheesepuffs.

"see, you two are meant to be." the Cheese-puff mans friend sang, while a blush erupted on the emos cheeks.

"the total is 9.37." you said and the man pulled out a twenty.

"keep the change." he said, turning around, but his friend had other plans. pulling cheese-puff man by the hoodie back to you.

"Emo here was wondering if he could get your number, darling... but he's just too chicken to ask." the man said, shoving cheese-puff guy forward. you smiled sweetly, as he gave you a pen, immediately looking around for paper, but you smiled, grabbing his arm and writing on his pale forearm, as he stared at you with wide eyes.

"see you again, cheese-puff man." you said, pecking his cheek before you turned back, the guy flushing a furious pink while his friend laughed. he looked at you still awestruck before nodding.

"my name is Virgil... Virgil Sanders." he said, looking at you, before being dragged out by his friend. while you turned to help the next customer.

Janus:

you walked the long hallways of the campus library, scanning the shelves, books piled in your arms. this was your favorite place to be on the weekends, finding books, they somehow understood you when the world didn't... books and music were your jam. It had been a windy day on campus, your classes done for the day, now you, just scanning the books.

with a little waddle you moved to one of the many padded couches in the library, setting your impressive pile of books down, I mean since the limit was 50, why not take advantage of it? with a little gasp for breath you picked up one, the one that caught you eye, opening it and starting to sink your figurative teeth into it.

you were so into your book you didn't noticing the man walking up to you, before sitting across from you, a small smirk on his lips as he gazed at you. it must have been 6 or more minutes before you noticed the shadow, and glanced up. you let out a yelp, almost throwing your book at his chiseled face. a small, deep laugh escaped his mouth and your cheeks flushed a little.

"Hello there..." he said, leaning a little closer, the coffee table, and a game of chess between the both of you, you looked up into his hetorochromic eyes, his soft espresso brown hair brushed to the side, yet still slightly over his eyes. the left side of his face a different, beautiful color than the rest of it. he was breathtaking.

"Hi..." you replied softly, opening the book back up awkwardly, yet still staring at him. he just smirked at your flustered face. leaning in a bit as he scanned your eyes, almost getting lost in them before he snapped out of it.

"the name is Janus." he said, gesturing towards the chess board, as if asking you to play. you would've denied, wanting to get back into the book, but his eyes beckoned you. he smiled offering to let you place the first move.

the game continued along, you losing terribly, while the smirk stayed planted on the strangers face. he glanced up at your focused face, a chill running through him. before he set his hand on yours, both of you making eye contact.

"I'll make you a deal, if you win, I'll take you out for coffee. if I win, I get to take you out to dinner?" he flirted, raising an eyebrow as your cheeks flushed a full beet red.

"deal." you whispered taking a chance. he won easily, and more quickly than you'd ever though possible. with a blush you stood up, going to grab your books but Janus quickly scooped them into his arms, winking at you while you blushed more.

Janus did end up taking you out to dinner after you checked out your books. you had just finished eating, looking up at him as he bought you a coffee. handing it to you, while he picked up your bookbag, walking to your dorm with you.

"why the coffee, I didn't win." you giggled slightly and Janus just smirked at you, with a wink.

"you won yourself a second date." he said with a wink, stopping infront of your dorm and handing you the bookbag, with a wave he disappeared into the shadows a deep blush on your face.

Remus:

with tears in your eyes you walked along the dark cracked sidewalk. a backpack slung droopily over your shoulder as you continued walking. the wind blew as you held your jacket tightly around you. keeping your eyes ahead, towards the apartment complex. it wasn't easy, well... life is never easy. you standing lost in thought as you scanned the key and opened the door into the building. the chilling wind being outside now.

it was dark inside, the lights only giving off a gray-ish shine, so the moonlight outside would have been brighter. you walked, growing more frustrated as you saw the elevator was out of order, and you were headed to the 7th floor. you started up the dank staircase, but your mind was elsewhere

you wouldn't have moved here, had you had a choice. you hated this city, this district, this part of the world. it was cold most of the time, the dew freezing on the grass. dark alleyways just waiting to hide less-than-friendly people. it was chilling, you hated it, but... your family was worse. this was the only opinion at the moment, so you took it.

you were almost shocked to realize you were at the 5th floor already, your legs taking you while your mind escaped. with a sigh you continued onward. you hadn't been able to rent a room of your own though, it was too expensive in this creepy city. you'd be having roommates, which maybe be wonderful or frankly dangerous. but you couldn't go back home.

you trudged into the dank hallway of the 7th floor, scanning the room numbers as the floor creaked under you. you wouldn't even be surprised if people filmed a horror movie here. quickening your pace, you continued to scan the room numbers looking for a certain number. number 30. this was it.

with a sigh you fished the key out of your pocket and finally opened the door, never expecting what was inside. the smell of burned grilled cheeses was mixed with the yelling of many voices. there were a total of 6 roommates, all screaming at each other. as you kneaded your head. this reminded you too much of home.

"well Hello there." a certain voice broke out, as you noticed a man staring, his pale complexion, brown mustache and coffee brown eyes looking you over, as he smiled. you glared a little, pulling your jacket tighter. as three people approached you.

"Hello, my name is Logan. your presence has been expected for quite a while." Logan said bluntly, before handing you an envelope titled: Rules and Guidelines for Y/n Y/l/n. you nodded holding onto it as another person walked forward.

"I'm Patton! I'm so glad you're here, I really hope that you like it! your room is down this small hallway." Patton motioned, grabbing your hand and pulling you a little as you quietly followed a little freaked out.

"Is that all you brought? is there more on the way?" someone dressed in red and white asked, his hair styled, and skin shining.

"this is everything..." you said, shrugging the backpack off your shoulder, as his jaw dropped.

"surely that isn't everything." he said, but you just shrugged. the one in the hood waved and then there were only two more left to meet.

"I'm Janus, don't wake me up, don't go in my room." he said simply and you nodded. then lastly, mustache man.

"That's about it cutie... I'll show you around town after dinner." he said, as you just stared. before staring up at him, and nodding slightly... this would be interesting.
