Preference#24: having the baby/the aftermath pt 2

Hello, Thank you for reading and I really really hope you like it! this took me many many hours to write, whether creative block or just a very long preference I'm not sure... anyway, I really really hope you like it, as always please keep comments clean and Patton-friendly!

I'm gonna add some warnings, just so nobody gets triggered

Warnings: childbirth, C-sections, intense pain, descriptions of pain, mentions of IV, water breaking, mentions/implications of depression, anxiety,  angst (but I promise it ends in fluff), passing out, contractions, mentions of work and money problems, Very Angry Virgil, implied shirtless Janus.

Logan:

it had been 4 weeks since you and Logan argued, and you knew he had been avoiding you. you still felt awful about it, but soon decided to go over to Patton's house so you didn't feel so alone and isolated

today you drove over to Patton's house, the pain in your stomach pretty bad, but not quite as bad as yesterday. Patton greeted you and the two of you walked inside and to the couch. Patton was currently dating someone and they were perfectly alright with having you hangout while they were at work.

Patton made lunch but you found you were nauseous and in too much pain to eat or keep anything down for longer than 30 minutes. the pain continued to get worse and worse. you called Patton over gasping in pain, and Patton panicked.

"Logan!" Patton called, pulling out the phone and calling despite your half hearted, breathless objections. Logan didn't answer and Patton began stressing. the pain was almost unbearable and you couldn't do anything but cry and try not to scream.

Patton made a decision and quickly helped you to the car, rushing you towards the hospital. you stood up and walked into the lobby with Patton, they nurses helped you find a room and the doctor soon came in, looking at you with pity.

"How are you?" the doctor asked, checking to see if you were ready.

"I've been better, ya know?" you gasped. clutching into the bedrest, waiting for Patton to get back, as he'd gone to find some things that you'd asked for at your house, that was a very long time ago, and at the moment your mind continued to wander.

the pain in your stomach grew worse and worse, so bad you didn't notice Logan walking into the room, his eyes filled with tears seeing you in such a state. you, all alone, in insane amounts of pain, and he was at work.

he walked in silently, sitting next to you, you smiled, so happy to see a familiar face among the storms of unfamiliarity. Logan started at you, holding your hand as tears leaked into his eyes. you looked up at his face, wiping a few tears away.

"you were right." he said, looking down at you with tears still in his eyes, still upset at the fact he wasn't answering your calls and the hospital itself had to call him to get him to answer. He meant to answer them, he just... couldn't. not with the guilt.

"its okay, we both just wanted what we thought was best." you said, rubbing his hand, he gave a small smile, lifting your hand and kissing it gently.

after many more hours Athena was born and you and Logan were both the proud, and now on good terms, parents of the precious life in front of you.

Patton:

you couldn't get out of the bed as your stomach hurt, worse and worse, unmistakable pain. you softly cried, trying not to scream out, as you quietly whimpered at the pain. you clutched onto the bedsheets, as time seemed to fade and all you could focus on was breathing.

Patton noticed you didn't come down for breakfast and soon grew very worried, it was unlike you just to skip a meal, even though you two were arguing. Patton quickly grew overwhelmed and then just decided to tell you it was ready

taking a deep breath, Patton opened the door to the most awful sight he could think of, you on the bed, crying out in pain, tears streaming down your face. Patton panicked a tad running up to you.

"Patton, you need to take me to the hospital" you said in-between gasps and whimpers. Patton nodded, draping his cardigan over your shoulders and quickly running you to the car, careful while carrying you. he wrapped your pancakes in plastic wrap, and set them in the fridge, made sure the oven was off and quickly ran outside with the keys.

the drive was very fast, the one time Patton's ever intentionally gone above the speed limit. after you two part, surprisingly without a speeding ticket, patton picked you up again quickly carrying you inside.

soon enough you were on the bed and Patton was sitting right next to you, a vice grip on your hand, as he stared at your face, caressing it softly. you turned to Patton, tears in your eyes.

"I'm sorry, Baby... this is all my fault, the fight, everything." you cried in pain, both emotional and physical. but Patton merely shushed you, holding onto you tightly, and placing soft kisses on your forehead.

"it was my fault, all of it... I always push you too hard, I'm sorry." Patton cried, holding you, you were shocked but looked him in the eyes.

"no... you its not your fault, its not my fault, I just love you, now lets move on." you said softly, sweetly, pulling his face close so that your foreheads were touching. Patton held your hand while you continued to push, acting like your personal cheerleader.

soon enough Rosemary was out, she was okay, a little underweight, and very very fragile, but she was alright, healthy other than the weight. after things calmed down a little Patton leaned in lightly kissing Rosemary on the head, before leaning down and kissing your cheek, temple, forehead and finally lips.

"Thank you..." he whispered and you smiled, this was your family, your entire world.

Roman:

you had neglected to tell anybody about the pains, but they had steadily been getting worse and worse. soon enough you heard the familiar sound of shoes against the wooden floor, undoubtedly Logan and Virgil's shoes.

you heard the firm knock and Logan's monotoned voice asking if its okay they enter, you tried to respond but it came out as more of a whimper in pain than a response. the door immdiatly opened Virgil rushing in, Logan not far behind.

"oh my, Logan!" Virgil called, Logan coming over, before his brow knit.

"Virgil, call 911, then call Roman." Logan said and Virgil nodded, his breathing quickening. Logan held your hand and directed you to breath. which was a lot harder than it sounded. but Logan's steady voice helped.

Virgil was on the phone until EMS arrived, helping you and Logan into the ambulance, then Virgil dialed Roman's number, only to get the infuriating tone of voicemail. Virgil threw the phone in anger, grabbed the keys to his car and drove to Remus house, walking very angrily. he almost kicked down the door when someone finally answered.

Virgil pushed Remus out of the way, walked past living room, headed to the guest bedroom where he knew Roman was. Virgil didn't bother knocking as he kicked down the door, seeing Roman an absolute mess. that didn't stop Virgil from grabbing Roman's arm, dragging him down the stairs while screaming.

"they are in labor, Roman! get your stinky butt in there!" Virgil screamed, dragging Roman to the car as Remus watched in shock, never seeing Roman and Virgil interact like this. Roman was even more of a mess as Virgil drove him to the hospital.

you were currently in one of the beds, with Logan by your side, sipping some coffee as he tried to remind you to breath. it didn't really work, but it was better than nothing. soon enough Virgil stormed in and spoke to Logan, but you were too distracted to listen.

they both looked at the door, but after a few minutes Virgil and Logan both stormed out, leaving you alone, and in much pain.

"I can't go in there, they hate me." Roman cried, and Virgil seemed to get even angrier.

"I've been helping them since you walked out, they are a mess and barely taking care of themselves and you can't find it in you to talk to them?" Virgil shouted, Logan staring angrily. Roman cried a little as he soon began walking into the room. you looked up, immediately tears gathering in your eyes.

"I need my hero." you whispered, snapping Roman out of his trance as he ran to you, engulfing you in a tearful hug, before kissing you over and over again. he took in how you looked, dark circles under your eyes, greasy unwashed hair, clammy skin, this wasn't how you usually carried yourself.

Roman supported you through the childbirth, it was absolute agony for Roman to see you in such pain but soon enough Dustin was born. he was mostly healthy, they wanted to monitor him.

Roman leaned down to kiss you after, passionately, encasing the loneliness and longing you both felt.

"I'm so sorry." Roman started, but you cut him off with a kiss, after you both pulled away, you began to apologize but Roman slammed his lips into yours shutting you up as well. you both were okay again, with a family, and love.

Virgil:

you had been feeling contractions but didn't know how to tell Virgils, but he knew. though you may realize it or not, Virgil is probably the most observant side, being anxiety and all, so he noticed the way you tried to hide the whimpers, or how often you went to use the bathroom, and you crying inside.

it went on for almost 15 minutes before Virgil was done, claiming there was absolutely not way he was going to watch you suffer, bringing you to the car and driving you to the hospital. it was stressful and Virgil was clearly stressed.

you got lost on the way to your room, and Virgil started chewing his nails, glancing around as you bent over and lightly sobbed in pain, Virgil tried everything he could think of, getting you some water, rubbing his fingers through your hair as the doctors figured out which room you were to be at.

eventually you both were able to go into the surgery ward, Virgil and you had talked about it, and since it was twins and they both looked quite large you agreed. Virgil promised Patton's would be over often to help, as well as Logan, Patton to help with the house and Logan to help with all the stress.

Virgil paced in the hallway, wondering if there was anything he could do to help, he loved you very much and it was pure agony to watch you in that kind of pain. eventually he walked in, another water bottle for you.

you smiled, despite the pain and pulled him into a half hug, half snuggle. Virgil nuzzled into your hair for comfort, holding your hand comfortingly.

"do you need anything." Virgil asked anxious and you shook your head before thinking for a moment.

"you know, maybe?" you said, looking up at Virgil, who looked ready to go and run out the door and do anything for you.

"you, right here, snuggling with me." you responded, snuggling into his arms and lightly kissing his hand, he blush and buried his face deeper into your hair. the C-section was long but Virgil was right there... trying not to throw up.

he held your hand harder than you held his as you both whispered comforting words towards each other. and soon enough Iris and August were in the world, and Virgil couldn't have been happier, holding the dearest August in his arms while Iris slept on your chest, skin to skin contact.

you and Virgil continued to smile, and sure things were hard, but you were both ready, ready to do it together.

Janus:

you couldn't fall asleep, despite your husband cuddling with you, you were currently on the bed, Janus behind you, his arms hugging you from behind, his face buried in your hair. his gentle snoring made you feel guilty of pulling out of his grip and waddling to the bathroom. you looked at yourself in the mirror, the dark circles under your eyes, the exhaustion.

it was a few minutes before you started walking back to the bedroom, staring at him, the way he was sleeping so peacefully, his fluffy hair, and his strong arms. the pain stabbed at you and you couldn't muffle the little scream that burst at your throat as you felt something very bad. your water breaking.

Janus had woken up at your scream and ran over right as your water broke, you wobbled a bit in pain and Janus quickly helped you balance, leaning right up to your face as your eyes glued shut in pain, as you held onto him.

Janus quickly called the doctor carrying you out to the car, it was 1 AM and extremely cold out, but Janus couldn't feel it, he carried you out and set you in the passanger seat, before running inside, tossing a jacket over his bare chest, and grabbing a blanket for you.

he drove quickly and helped you inside and to your room, the doctor was waiting a sympathetic look at the both of you, you only in a nightgown, and Janus in plaid pajama pants and a jacket, his hair a mess, and without a hat.

Janus sat down next to you when you were on the bed, rubbing and kissing your hands gently. tiredness dropping from his eyes. before he walked to a decorative mirror and tried to fix his hair, which didn't work.

"and people actually wondering why I wear a hat..." Janus grumbles but you smile a little, before more pain hits you and you cry out, Janus running over and fumbling a bit, trying to help you any way he can.

soon enough the doctor came in and helped, and with a lot of screaming, from both you and Janus, and pushing, and lots of deep breaths Genesis was born. after Genesis was all good and sleeping Janus snuggled up to you both, lightly kissing your neck and ear, before kissing your forehead, nose and at last lips.

"I love you..." he said, kissing you, before lightly kissing Genesis. and you smiled, grabbing both his cheeks and kissing him, oh so happy he was your husband and not anybody else on the entire planet.

Remus:

you were inside, with Remus. both of you just standing around. you had convinced him to let you come to the store with him, and so he finally let you. the both of you had a nice time, but you couldn't help the pain in your stomach, as it ached like barbed wire against your organs.

Remus immediately noticed something was wrong, when you staggered, and quickly caught you. you were weak, your stomach bulging, and you went limp in his arms, no strength to sit up. you groaned as Remus drove you to the large hospital before he carried you're surprisingly and concerningly light body into the lobby, as doctors came rushing.

Remus raced along with the doctors, tears streaming down his face, his worst fear nearly materializing out of thin air, as he gasped for air. after you were down on the bed, in a hospital gown, and an IV, you ended up getting a little strength back.

"Hey, Re..." you said with a small smile, despite the doctors shouting and the pain racking your body in awful waves. Remus caressed your face, leaning in to kiss you lips and jaw, you whimpering in the pain from your lower half.

you held Remus hands as you pushed, but in your weak state, everything grew too much. you got one baby out, but despite all your efforts you couldn't get the other baby out, you were growing weak, the room spinning around you, the last thing you saw being Remus scared eyes.

Remus saw you passing out and screamed, the doctors and nurses running around all the time, looking at your face, Remus held Felix as the nurses and doctors rushed to get you a C-section, screaming at each other.

soon enough the C-section was on way and they helped May out of there, but the doctors jaw's dropped as they pulled another child out of your stomach. Remus paled, well paler than he already is, and tried to help care for all of your shared children.

the doctors monitored you, but you were still passed out, Remus sitting beside you, Roman having come to help Remus with the kids. Roman took May out to walk around, and you could tell Roman was going to be a terrific uncle already. leaving you with Remus, and Felix, and the other child.

"Please wake up... I can't do this without you." Remus cried, holding Felix who started to get fussy, and Remus just started crying harder. he stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a small whimper escape your throat, as you blinked open your gorgeous eyes.

"what happened." you asked, trying to sit up, but yelping in pain, Remus leaned over and kissed you, someone still securely and safely holding two infants. you reached out and took the third baby in your arms.

"Hello, May." you said, and Remus stopped you.

"you had triplets... May's in the hall with Roman." Remus said and your jaw dropped. Remus nodded and you smiled, after setting the two infants to bed, Remus sat by you, combing your sweaty hair with his fingers as he leaned over and nuzzled you. you ended up grabbing his sash and kissing him passionately, while he kissed back, crying.

"I almost lost you... I promised I would never lose you." Remus cried and you pulled his face close, your hands on his cheeks, wiping away the tears.

"you didn't lose me Remus... I love you so much." you whispered pulling him into a huge kiss.
